  • This is my family's favorite so far (copied from my blog): Yield: 2 loaves Ingredients: 2.75 cup hot water .33 cup EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) .33 cup organic honey 2 tbsp molasses (you can also substitute extra honey for a sweeter bread) 1 tbsp salt 7.5 cups organic 100% whole wheat whole grain flour 1 packet dry active…
  • Don't be so hard on yourself! It can take up to three weeks for some people to see a significant change. I agree that showing your food journal would be helpful, but thats up to you and how comfortable you are. Keep working hard!
  • There's a huge difference between a "Nutritionist" and someone with a certification in fitness nutrition. If someone advertises that they are a full fledged nutritionist I highly suggest that you ask to see their college diploma. It is outside a specialist's scope of practice to act as one. That being said, I'd probably…
  • Machete and brush axe? Probably akin to chopping wood then? Or gardening would work too, but there's no options for the added intensity. Hmm....
  • Go you! Sometimes we need those extra calories, and sometimes we don't. Kudos to you for listening to your body (and the advice of a friend) and finding a way to get your body that much closer to your goal!
  • I love the story behind the thread title, LOVE it!
  • 75 Ways to Love Your Oatmeal = amazing recipes. I follow Jenny Grothe on FB as well, and I get a lot of really yummy recipes from her (for things other than oatmeal too).
  • Welcome! Best wishes, with a little work and a lot of determination you'll definitely reach your goals =)
  • What it boils down to, is did you burn more calories today than you consumed? You certainly don't have to eat your exercise calories, and if you're not hungry then there's no real need to... imo at least. I tend to follow the saying "You eat to train, not train to eat".
  • I am a little biased because I <3 weights, but the truth is while weights themselves are not necessary weight training is. Whether the weight is in dumbbell/barbell form or if you simply use your own body is a matter of preference. Weight training burns more calories than just cardio, like dtorres21 said your body needs to…
  • Welcome! If you've got the drive and desire, you can make anything happen. Don't forget it =) I have two munchkins of my own (almost 3 yr old son and a 1 year old daughter), and while its difficult at times its always worth the effort. You can't take care of them properly if you don't take care of yourself. Feel free to…
  • I definitely would encourage you to eat more than that. When you go add your food in, type in "breast feeding" or "nursing mom" and it will add a negative 500 calories to your food journal. You need to eat those. Not sure what your stats are, but I'm currently nursing my 4 month old and I have a calorie goal of 1750. Hope…
  • I used this site while I was pregnant (my daughter was born in July), it really helps you maintain and it curbs the mindless eating. I still had my cravings, but I searched for more nutritious options instead of those darn oreos that kept calling my name. Congrats on your pregnancy! "If you bite it, you must write it"
