I'm just under 5'2 and weigh 121 on weekdays but around 125 on the weekends. I started out, about four years ago, at 155 or so pounds. So it's been a long and wonderful journey for me! :) My body fat currently is 24 percent. My goal weight is 115 (and 120 on the weekends so I can still indulge a little!) and body fat at…

Thank you palegreenstar for the chart link! Very interesting. And sorry if my question is bothering other people but I know that little changes over time can really add up so if I tweak my lunch to my workout schedule... hey, you never know. :)

I read this Fitness article a while back which made me think I should eat before working out to burn off the calories: Quoting it: "After eating, you return to work, but your body has received a great deal of calories without the opportunity to burn them off. To make matters worse, even though you are probably sitting…

I have the FT80 and I really like it. The problems I have noticed so far is getting it to sync with my laptop. Apparently a lot of people have that issue. I do like the training program that it comes with and that it shows me my "zones." That really helps me break my workout up. :)

I hadn't thought about The Mall for some reason! I do know the brick sidewalks near me are already hurting my legs so I might have to travel a bit outside my locale for a really good run.

Thanks for sharing guys! I hope I can find some pals in the Northeast (NE) parts of the District too! :)

I'm just under 5'2. When I was around 150 pounds I couldn't even run a mile! I would run/walk. And eventually I built up from there. :)

I guess no one is in the Baltimore area?

I'm just a hair under 5'2 and 120 would be great. I started my weight loss journey a little over 150 pounds about three years ago. Now I'm around 126 on my good days. :)

I was born weighing 9 pounds. I was a chubby child too. I went up to 150s in high school and college, a lot on a 5'1.5 frame. I've lost weight and am now around 126. I still don't consider myself to be skinny though. And if someone calls me skinny or little it's always confusing because I don't see myself that way. I'm not…

Thanks for the ideas! I know I can see a doctor but I wanted to know if any one else struggles with this and what they've done or if there is a simple solution that I'm not seeing-- other than taking a pill. Again, for those of you that eat iron-fortified cereals, is it not canceled out when you eat it with milk or yogurt?…

Since people keep asking how I know I'm anemic-- I'm not completely sure what my iron levels are at this moment. I tried to give blood this summer and couldn't. They told me I was anemic. I've been told this before when trying to give blood other times too. My sis eats raisins so she can give blood but I don't want all…

Most days I'm over 100 percent RDA for Vitamin C. So I doubt that's it, especially considering all the lime and lemon juice I put in my water. I just need more tips for eating iron from people who've overcome this. Cream of wheat is something I'll need to check out. I do eat Cheerios every now and then but they're so…

Thanks for the ideas. I have heard having vitamin C can help. Does it count if put some lemon or lime juice in my water whenever I eat meals? Because I usually already do that. I don't want to take the supplements because I think it's better to eat your vitamins naturally whenever possible. Also I'm afraid of the iron…

I also met with a dietitian who told me to aim for around 1500 calories a day. I had already been doing that because I tried to do 1200 calories a day for a while but would end up binging on the weekends or not have the energy to do the high-intensity workouts I love. So 1500 is working out for me. And I'm losing. Or at…

I blogged about easy sweet potato recipes a while back after reading about how Miss USA likes to eat them and some easy low-cal toppings. Check it out if you want. :) Super easy: http://bit.ly/KF7Xjm

I'm just a little under 5'2 and used to weigh a bit over 150. I weigh 127ish now (changes slightly daily). So I lost around 25 pounds over the course of two years. If anyone would like some dieting input or thoughts they can also feel free to friend me even though I'm really only trying to tone up and lose a little flab at…

Roswell (season one style), Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Veronica Mars! I'm kind of like a grown teenie bopper.

I like it but I also heard there's a chemical process involved??! I haven't done any research on this though.

I was a little over 150 pounds so considered obese (I'm 5'2) through much of high school. I didn't trim out until after college! Exercise and informed eating helped me lose about 25 pounds. :) I would like to tone up a little more but sometimes I wonder if the fact that I was overweight is stopping me. I've heard your body…

I don't have time to read all comments now but I plan to come back later. I actually do a lot of writing and thinking about this subject during my job. I have desk job too and work for media company. It's my passion project to blog, tweet about health at work when I have time. My co-workers and community where I live have…

great work! I'm so happy for you :)

great tips, thanks everyone! for healthy marinating is it best to just spray some olive oil and sprinkle spices? or you do actually put in ziplock baggie and let it sit in the fridge?

Thanks but I don't have a grill. Any ideas for baking or broiling?

Good point. Another problem with fake sugar is it throws off your taste buds. So many fake sweeteners are actually 10x sweeter than sugar itself, you won't be able to appreciate naturally sweet foods like fresh fruit! I find that by limiting "diet" drinks, I'm able to appreciate some strawberries and blueberries more as my…

i think artificial sweeteners throw off my taste buds so i try to avoid some flavored waters if they have sucralose or other sweetening chemicals (see Aquafina flavored water for example) there are some flavored water brands that don't have any in them. Hint is one that I really like, but it's expensive. i do like seltzer…
