I would check with a doctor to make sure your weight does not put you in any danger if you become pregnant. If he/she gives you the ok they I say get pregnant now and then work on really losing weight and toning up that tummy. Besides, just because you are pregnant doesn't mean you can not do some of the super cool mommy…

5'4 and right now I am aiming for about 135. Of course when I get closer, depending on muscle mass, it might change a little.

LoL well I went to the doctor when I was prego with a rash on my legs that itched REALLY bad, driving me crazy. The doctor told me I had scabies and gave me a cream (which didnt work bc I didnt have scabies) so a few weeks later I went to another doctor and he said it was just REALLY dry skin and he told me what kind of…

Hmmm...juices are exchanged within the meat and marinade right, so maybe measuring weight before and after wouldnt work? I am sort of thinking I should just add a few tablespoons of the marinade to my calories and call it a day.
-
My thoughts exactly jg. I am interested in this wicked cranberry marinade, can you share?
-
I have a few different marinades around 10-35 calories per tablespoon. One thing I am thinking is to weigh the amount of marinade before and after to get an idea of what is actually in or one my chicken after soaking in it. I am curious how much meat can actually absorb

I dont know anything about In Defense of Food but I agree with the statement! If you think about it, eating 75% plant is really just eating naturally. Add some protein, maybe a little bread and there ya go. :)

Other stuff helps keep you hydrated but not as well as water. Nothing works like water. 8 glasses should be the MIN ammount but you would do good drinking more. If I drink 12-15 cups a day I feel dehydrated. I think 18-20 is good for me but you have to find what feels good for you. :drinker:

So 5 lbs in three weeks? That is awesome progress and healthy progress. Just make sure you are calculating your calories correctly and you will see results. Be patient. These are words you might have to tell me next week, lol.

Thanks everyone, it was helpful and confirming to what I have been told. A good mix of natural foods with all of the food groups, whole grains (and certainly MEAT  ). > LOve this: "I'll eat what I like within reason"

How do you lose weight if you dont? MFP said my BMR was 1500 something... if I eat that I will not lose any weight. I cant workout everyday but when I do workout I usually eat more. I thought in order to lose the weight you have to eat less than what you need so it burns the fat??

I have found that its ok if it seems too hard for you. Just do the best you can and even if you are not moving as fast or jumping as high or taking a lot of breaks...it doesnt matter. If you work your best you are getting a good work out and THAT is what matters. Stick with it and you will be surprised in how much better…

I work at a police department...7 to 7, 12 hour shifts. I switch back and forth from nights to days every 3 months and I have an hour and a half drive everyday. Looong days... but I am pretty use to it, I have been doing it for 6 years now. :indifferent:
-
This is difficult, I think sleep is more important. I have worked night shift for many years but this is the first time I am trying to log everything and lose the weight. I notice that if I do not get enough sleep (and I tend to require more on night shift) I CRAVE junk like crazy. Plus I get so tired that on my days off I…

Thanks everyone for the help. I am going to try doing from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed. When I workout (whether before work or at the end) I will log it on the same day as the food. We'll see how this goes....

Night Crawlers....I will have to check this out, it might be helpful. :)

Yes, consistency is a must but on days that I am off I am up during the day sometimes. It makes long days, I am trying to figure out the best way to be consistant and accurate.
-
And you count all of that on one day, the walking on the same day as your breakfast?

It's not the owners responsibility. Their job is to provide the site and tools we need, They can not make the girl eat or get help no more than the others could. People are free to eat as much or as little as they want.

Sorry I can't afford to pay for other's education....I am too busy paying for my own.
-
Exactly! I am a single mom who works full time and goes to school full time. I pay for my own education without borrowing and I pay for my son to go to a good private school. It is a lot of hard work and I have to make sacrifices to do it but I will graduate with no student loan debt. I don't expect anyone to pay for my…

I seen a recipe on TV today that said to take low fat cottage cheese, add cinnamon, vanilla extract, splenda, and diced apples. It looked good and kind of sounds good, I have yet to try it though.

mix in ranch dressing powder....hmmm...that sounds like it could be good. I have never tried it but I have the powder so I will check it out.

I don't mind at all
