L2 D3 - yesterday was awful, I had no energy and was exhausted towards the end of it but I just did as much as I could. Today was much better although I still find some things difficult and have to switch to the modified moves. I really dislike this level, it's going to be a long week!! Keep going, we will get there!…

Totally agree with this, there are plenty of small things he could do that would benefit both of you. He may want to use the meals he has away from home to pack in the calories (big breakfast and lunch at work, lots of snacks) and then just have bigger portions of the meals you eat together, as others have suggested.…

Salt can really affect the scales the day after. There's no way you ate enough cals to put on 5lb so give it a few days and it will come down I bet!

Totally agree with you, I also struggle to find something that keeps my interest long term. I started the 30 day shred 10 days ago and am finding it something that I can stick to as it's "only" 20 minutes a day and because of that I don't see it as a chore, even though I'm doing it every day. Any more than 20 mins and I'm…

I've done most of L1 without shoes, then tried L2 and there's no way I can do it without shoes as I'm sliding all over the place, have terrible balance and the pressure on my knees is insane! I found wearing shoes supports me better and I feel less pressure on my joints so I will carry on like that.

I'm on L1 D6 and I've heard a lot of people gain or struggle to lose weight for a while doing 30DS, so I am not weighing yet as I don't want to feel discouraged. However, I have measured and already I have lost an inch from various places in just 6 days so that's giving me the encouragement I need. To those who have gained…

I'm on L1 D5 and I ache! Good luck with it, there are some discussion groups especially for those of us doing the 30DS if you search for them on the boards. You may find it interesting to compare notes with fellow sufferers!

I've done L1 D5 of the Shred today and I am suffering for it! Fantastic results and seeing other people's pics helps me to keep on going. I had no energy this morning but I'll dig in and carry on and (try to) stop complaining! Thanks for sharing.

Good luck with it all.

I also counted!! I'd hate to see what her "only 10 more" is!

I'm on L1 D3 and it's great reading how everyone else is getting on with it!

I have just started JM's 30 day shred and have heard lots of good things about it so I am feeling positive! As others have said, it's "only" 20 minute work outs per day although depending on your fitness level they are not easy to start with but the idea is that you get stronger and progress through the levels.

I have a similar dilemma when I'm on a night out with the girls - I just KNOW I'll go over my set calories that day but I do still log it. I tend to eat a bit less per day during the week or do a bit extra exercise to "claw back" what I've gone over. And it's worth it to be able to enjoy the night out!

I sympathise as if there are 'bad' foods in the house I would track them down so I just don't get them in. Try to get your family on side and see if they will support you in healthier eating? If they don't want to get involved themselves they can still help you by for example, taking their chocolates to work to eat there.…

If you are exercising regularly are you consuming enough net cals?

What a huge difference your hard work has made, good for you! You must feel fantastic.

If I saw someone running in the rain I would notice them but only because I would be impressed by their dedication!

I agree - you have to enjoy it else you soon lose heart and give up. Good that you found something you like doing. I guess I am just lazy but I will continue to battle against it!

Good luck and well done on joining this site and also the gym - 2 positive steps forward already!

Fantastic results for no doubt the masses of determination, hard work and patience taken to get there. Well deserved! Do you enjoy exercise or did you have to force yourself to go to the gym each time? I'm interested cos I hate the gym and am thinking of giving it another go. New year, new start etc!

Target Weight and My Weight

Hi there, I would take down a note of your measurements and use these as a comparison as these don't lie, unlike clothes labels which can be way out from shop to shop, as the others have said. Congrats on your loss so far!

40lbs is great, well done! You should certainly notice some difference, however I agree with others in that you have seen the gradual process so it may not be so obvious to you as to others. I'm sure you can tell from your before and after pics? I agree that you need to make sure your current clothes are more fitted as…

I guess it's because some people only want the cal-count for the quickest logging option and don't want to have to go to the laborious task of entering lines of data for every item they add in. I don't think it's because people can't read.

Big congrats, what a great achievement! You must be so proud and what a big difference in your pics!

Hi there, There's a quiz on this website that helps you to determine your body shape:- http://www.channel4.com/4beauty/style/dress-for-your-body-shape I'm guessing you would be classed as the slender shape. You will also find tips on what to wear to flatter your body shape. Hope it's of interest.

Hi there - just had a quick look at your diary for the last few days and have noticed that on some days you have up to 800 cals spare at the end of the day (after exercise) which is a lot to be under your goal cals by! Just a suggestion in that you may want to up your cals to closer to your goal cals, as this may nudge…

If it helps, in the past I've always found that weight loss "evens itself out". Some weeks you stick to plan like glue and nothing or even a gain (sheer frustration) and other weeks you're not so good but get a decent result. In the end it seems to even out so I think it's the tortoise and hare approach really. You know it…

Can you swim? Great all-over exercise and less pressure on the knee.
