It does sound as a few of us could go on an adventure if we all lived closer. Living in a big city there are big prices on may things so going out can be expensive. But so many of you shared that you are interested in new things, and BlueJean loves all kinds of music, so I bet there are people hanging out here who are also…

I thought of you Punky as I watched the David Letterman Show last night. He was talking about Kale chips. He likes them but of course made me laugh before he got to that part. Switzerland!! Have fun!!

I heard about the challenge from ginnylee and started last week. I weighed in at 164.9.

debjae, Good idea. Eating out is my downfall as my dinner tonight shows. Some restaurants really pile the food on your plate. Since large restaurants in PA record their calories by law, I have been amazed at what you eat even if you have a hamburger.

Why you are not grinning from ear to ear in your present day pic is a wonder. Wow! The progress you made is terrific!! I remember the first time my breasts stuck out more than my belly. Elation.

Not that I do this 100 % of the time but everything I have read for years, that has not been fadded out, says eat food that grows, is not processed, Nuts and seeds and fruit and vegetables and protein sources: dairy , legumes, meat, poultry, chicken, fish. That is what I think of eating clean. Cookies, although tasty, are…

Good question. My total 21 pound loss resulted in my breathing better.... which is lovely. It is more comfortable walking and moving. I went from clothes that did not fit well or flatter to fitting into clothes that I feel attractive in. For the last 12 plus years I would look in the mirror and say, who is that? Now, I…

I am weighing in (ha! ha!) again about my needed additional exercise. It seems so hard to find the time for it but before I had the time so I know it is me procrastinating. When i read posts from younger women I get a bit freaked out about the amount and quantity of time they devote to exercising. I was never THAT…

I am a therapist, with a history of weight issues myself, also works with overeating and post bariatric clients. If you have this much concern about the surgery, talk to someone in your assessment program who you think will really hear your fears. Surgery , like all treatments, is not a magical solution for most people. If…

At age 18 a school doctor taking my medical history said if I was a horse they'd shoot me. Now, at 58 plus y.o. I have outlived MANY horses thank you doctor!:drinker:

I visited the city where I lived in my late 20's early 30's. Not only was it an exciting time in my life but I had the best of friends. i realized this past visit how much their lives have changed, and how much I have changed. I love to visit but my fantasy to retire there....it is just a fantasy. I am so glad your meds…

GinneyLee, The first time on dialysis, I had no problem with potassium so I could dairy. Not a lot, but some. Second time around, I had to watch it. My husband also walks with me but in recent years his body aches make him a bit less enthusiastic. But he goes if I ask most of the time. We go to Silver Sneakers at our gym…

I have been on a salt restricted diet my entire adult life. I also eat mostly home cooking to keep my salt low. Foods naturally have salt. Bread, dairy products, seaweed. So nature gives you enough salt and it is much healthier for you.

Silverniki, it sounds as if you have great willpower! I have been the same weight since November but I put on muscle and wear a lower size than in November. That is why I love this site. It keeps me going. Welcome!

Punki, men in their 80's flirt with me so enjoy enjoy enjoy the young ones!!! I just realized I give in too many times to "Well, it is a special day," and then eat more sweets than I should. Back to the "NO" zone. Our neighbor gave us these delicious pear and chocolate tarts and I ate a whole one. Too much. I find it…
