I simply stay aware of what I am eating each day by logging it here on MFP. I started because other programs weren't working and I knew it was time to look at my food choices and volume in order to accomplish my goals.

Seeing how I like working out now I can't understand why I didn't like it for so many years. I would have pushed exercise throughout my life, found activities I enjoyed and paid attention to nutrition and fitness information all along. :flowerforyou:

Also some fruits like guava, mango and papaya have fiber and you can eat them with cottage cheese or Greek yogurt for fiber and protein. And then there's Questbars- protein bars with lots of fiber

Strength training is great exercise and can be an important part of a fitness routine. It will not make you large, actually it will have the opposit effect on a woman. Good luck!

There are machines at the gym intended for use with limited or no lower body use. Wheelchair etc. You can check it out if interested. Good luck with your surgery!

Best thing you can do is learn all you can about nutrition, move all you can and make educated and sound food choices. Try protein along with carbs and keep refined sugar low. Drink lots of water too. Get off soda, diet soda etc. just my opinion.

Ignore it. With that said there may be a day where they truly are involved with something that keeps them moving for 5 or 6 hours and they feel like keeping track in their log, but 23 hours?
