Near-syncopal episode can be due to several things. Heavy exercise and dehydration will lower your BP. But there are other cardiac reasons as well (heart related). Best to check with your doc!

Stop messing up your body. Go get the book "The Smarter Science Of Slim" by Jonathan Bailor. It is NOT a diet book, but rather the actual science behind how your body works with food and exercise. Otherwise you're just gonna yo-yo the rest of your life~

how about splitting the difference? keep the living room as it is, and paint the dining/kitchen the teal/cream. that way you both have "wins", and put accents of the other colors in the rooms (teal vases, pillows, ect in the living room, red stuff in the dining room, center piece, dishware, accent rug, yaknow).
