Hello and welcome!

I was actually just looking into signing up for some races. I know that Tough Mudder has a training plan online based on your athleticism. Might be worth a look.

5'6.5, 167 currently, 30+ to lose and I eat 1500+exercise calories, which usually reaches 1600-1800. I have tried more and I have tried less. More I maintained, less I binged, so this seems to be about right. I am losing slowly, but I am never hungry and don't feel too full so hopefully this works for me.

heck yes! kickin butt!

I hear this a lot, but I actually eat less when I am working nights. Thankfully we have a gym so I sneak off down there whenever I can. As for eating I bring my food and try to keep the intervals between meals just like I would on days. And I definitely don't bring extra food. I've come to learn what times I tend to get…

It may sound counterproductive, but I cook. It's something that really soothes me. I usually find myself stressed when I get home from work. So instead of sitting down and worrying about how I feel I get online, get an idea from a recipe for dinner and spend the next hour or so in the kitchen focusing on what spices I want…

Maybe try lifting weights. It may seem like you can't lift much at first, but keeping at it. I feel amazing after I workout. I walk away saying to myself " yeah, I squat. Yeah, I lift that. I'm awesome" And that's just what I need to keep going. And the light soreness in my muscles teh next day remind me that I do totally…

I second what hzliiz said! I was all in the gym lifting my weights by my lonesome, then some people from work walk in and I was starting to get self conscious with how little I curl. Then I was like, wait, I am here lifting weights, getting my workout on and that's more than some people can say, so props to us! Especially…

I think this just comes down to personal choice. Do you like the banana in the shake? Are it's calories and carbs worth the deliciousness of the banana in that shake TO YOU. Me personally, I need the potassium, especially on days I run. But you can get even more potassium from other fruits/veggies. I make my own shakes so…

I did not knwo about these. Will have to check them out. Thanks!

AWESOME! Really great job on having the courage to talk to the gym owner!

Me too! well, on Monday! Super excited too cuz 170 seems to be a sticky number for me. I've fluctuated between 170-175 fro a while now. Anyhow, though, CONGRATS!

I just quit cold turkey in december. I would recommend having a good support team, avoiding other smokers/instances where you would smoke(i.e drinking, driving, basically your routine cigarettes), and get a hobby. My husband and I both former smokers who quit cold turkey found that we love cooking. It takes our minds off…

Generally speaking I burn 10 cals/minute whether I run, bike, or do an elliptical. That's at my normal pace, for my body weight, age, fitness level. Again, it's going to vary from person to person, but that is how I burn most calories, except for boxing. I think I average a little more with that.

MInt chocolate builders as well. You say carrot cake, though, eh? never seen them, but i'll keep an eye out. Thanks!

I don't believe it is an error. I have seen posts on here before about that, and I believe they said the same. However I do that my nutritionist said that the FDA recommends no more than 2500 mg of salt each day, and I think that is regardless of how much you work out. I try to keep mine a bit lower though to avoid…

do you have a workout partner? ever tried using a belt? the partner holds the ends of a belt wrapped around your stomach and helps take some of the weight off of you and you tell them how much pull to use. we use it in the army to help with proper form :)

I just posted about this a couple weeks ago. Never did figure out what it was. But yes, nauseous everytime I eat. Maybe it's a diet change thing, or week before TOM thing. I'd be interested too if anybody comes up with anything! so...bump lol

i was actually stoked to find out today that my favorite drink-white mocah nonfat no whip has 15 grams of protein! For someone who is trying to watch protein levels this is an awesome find and most definitely getting worked into my calories :)

My weight didn't budge until I upped my calories. I know you see that a lot on here and it seems to be true. I never lost at 1200 so i recently slowly bumped my cal intake to 2000 from 1200 and i finally saw the scale move. I was shocked at first that i wasn't gaining, but hopefully it was just what i needed to get this…

Welcome to life in the military! It's all a numbers game, and probably hasn't been updated since the 40's!
