Are you an alcoholic? Stop drinking! Not hard. Your dog is lost? Go find it! Not hard. You have 5 finals on the same day? Study! Not hard. A close friend died? There's nothing you can do, move on! Not hard. Were you laid off? Look for a job! Not hard. Are you in debt? Pay it off! Not hard. The advice is spot on. It's also…

"Eat less, move more. Not hard": brought to you by the same person who said hypothyroidism is an "excuse people make". http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/609617-hypothyroid

That's true! Good options! Thanks for the reply

I understand that you're young, and it seems you have lived a very sheltered life. You're in for a rude awakening. All the best!

BURN!

So inspiring!! Congratulations!!!

Interesting! I've gone through 1, 2, 3, and 4! I feel very active (and still hungry). Not sure if I've reached 5 (I was tired for a while but I'm sure it was related to something else).

Thanks for the replies! I eat yogurt often so I like the all bran buds idea. And I definitely need to add more lentils and other grains to my meals!

Fiber supplements and coconut. Never thought about those, will look into it!

That's awesome to hear! Thanks for the support! :)

Good point about the measurements! I'm going to start doing that. I do a mix of everything. Weight training: 2-3x week. Cardio: 3-4x week (spinning, step, zumba, kickboxing, or running... I like variety). Maybe some yoga/pilates here and there. Those are mostly goal numbers, I'm getting back on track so I'm not too…

Thanks! I'm 5'5 and trying to lose about 10-15 pounds (most of which seem to be stored in my tummy lol). These are my numbers according to the scooby calculator. BMR ~ 1430 TDEE (sedentary) ~ 1720 TDEE (moderate) ~ 2200

Zumba classes depend a lot on the instructor. I know this is true about all classes, but it is especially true with Zumba. I've been lucky to attend mostly classes with either good or awesome instructors. With some I get a good workout and with others it's so intense (in a good way) I can hardly keep up, love it! lol. But…

Thank you for sharing this and for the detailed explanation of what you went though, it helps a lot!

Rocking short shorts without a muffin top definitely beats anything a scale has to say. Congrats!!

Another vote for Body Glide!

I'm trying to figure out all this about BMRs and TDEEs, trying to eat a bit more and more consistent as well. Feel free to add me as well! :)

Thank you all for the replies! My current plan is: 3 Cardio days and 3 Strength Training days, with some short Yoga sessions here and there. So I'm thinking about replacing one of the Strength Training days with a long Pilates session and see how it goes, as well as adding some short Pilates sessions along with the Yoga…

Some friends swear by Insanity, it seems like a great workout. I do have Turbo Jam and she's awesome! So Turbo Fire and Chalene Extreme sound like good options too.

Ha! I agree. I don't care for Hooters, but if I'm going to a sports bar to drink, watch the game, and cuss at the TV, I prefer not having kids around and feeling like I need to censor myself lol. ETA: I guess it depends on the age of the kid. Babies and toddlers are too young to care; older teens are old enough to…

Awesome, thanks for sharing!

I can't recommend any DVDs in particular, but I can recommend this book: Stretching by Bob Anderson http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0936070463 It provides straightforward explanations and images for every stretch, including which muscles are targeted. It also provides different routines depending on what kind of…

For the most part no. But it's recommended to have whey protein after a workout (it's absorbed faster) and casein protein at other times of the day (it's slowly absorbed).

Bodybuilders are fans of cottage cheese, especially at night. Other than that, I'm pretty much bumping the thread. As a side note, I haven't had much luck finding a good protein shake. Either they're too expensive or contain tons of sugar.

I agree.

I'm also in my early 30s and no acne problems (except for the occasional zit). However, sometimes my chest breaks out after a work out. I try cleaning it right after exercising and it does help. I use either cotton balls dampened with some kind of cleanser/toner/etc or some of those prepackaged towelettes, or at the very…

I agree with the other replies. Cardio, healthy diet, losing weight slowly, and more cardio. Belly fat is one of the most difficult ones to get rid off. In my case, it's always the last to come off. Keep doing what you're doing and the muffin will get smaller as time goes by :)

Rum and diet Coke Vodka and diet Sprite If in the mood for beer, get the light ones

If you are new to running and doing the Couch to 5K, don't run in the in-between days. C25K is a gradual program so you don't want to overdo it. I would do strength training on those days and maybe some light cardio. That's what I did and it worked out great.
