Thank you!

This is me in a nut shell.

Single and looking and this is how I would treat you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfeys7Jfnx8&feature=share Edit: Too lazy to figure out how to make it a clicky. Copy and paste is your friend. :)

It sounds like it would be. I would probably take whatever calories it showed you burned and subtract 25-30% though. Just to be on the safe side. I always over calculated the calories in and under calculated the calories burned whenever I was uncertain. Edit - At 119 lbs lost I doubt you need much advice though.

I would eat one and drink 32 oz of water with it. That was always plenty for me. The sodium was a little concerning though. But I am a picky eater and a horrible cook so I ate them for lunch every day.

Excellent post. :glasses:

I say yes!

Polar FT4 is one of the most popular and its the one I use. My buddy bought one from wal-mart for $50 and it seems to work fine. Except his freaks out in the car. Just make sure you get one with the chest strap.

Neither is very accurate. The best thing you can do for your workouts is invest in a HRM.
-
Exactly!! the days I bring in the higher calories are the days I can go forever at the gym. I know right away if I haven't eaten enough.

Here is my opinion. You maintain a diet to lose weight. You exercise to get in better shape. I always eat back what I burn. I want my body to be a lean mean machine that knows it will always get the fuel it needs to run. Keeps my metabolism in high gear. There are many days I take in 1700 calories but after my workout I…

Light stretching will get the blood pumping and help soreness. As you mentioned though rest is the most important thing. It is critical for muscle rebuilding.
-
Most likely water retention. You are not going to gain 2 lbs of fat over night. I jumped up 3 lbs from Sunday to Monday but lost it again. Make sure you drink a lot of water and flush your system.
-
lol yeah I never take chances. Overestimate calories in and underestimate calories burned. I am very honest with myself about my diet and workouts. I am only cheating myself if I fudge numbers.
-
And then overestimate the hell out of it! That is what I do anyways.

North Phoenix.

Hi there! Phoenix here
-
That is a very good point! I am sure that's how it all balances out in the end.
-
I think this comment wins.

Yeah, I by no means want anyone to think I am looking for cracks in the armor. I think MFP is an amazing site. It has worked wonders for me and I haven't been subtracting those calories either. This just peeked my curiosity.
-
That would be very cool if the HRM took that into consideration and automatically adjusted the calories based on BMR. Something to look into!
-
Only if I am logging this stuff which I never do. all that is just gravy for me.
-
@Agthorn I agree with you, I don't think it's enough over the course of a day to matter. Even a 1 hour workout is only going to be off by a minimal amount. I just find the numbers interesting.

As soon as I saw this post the theme from Rocky popped in my head! Da na naaaa ..Da na naaa

I think nerds do well when they put their mind o weight loss. It's a simple numbers game and nerds love numbers! I speak from experience! I push for the big calorie burns just to see the numbers!
-
I have a HRM and would be willing to help in the name of science. Please send me a message and we can work something out ;)
-
My guess would be German/Russian.

I agree! I think cheat\binge days are counter productive. All they do is continue bad habits. If you cannot break away from the binge mentality you are doomed for failure. Just my opinion. If you want something have it! But either fit it into your calories or hit the gym extra hard to work it off. :) Ok I am done sticking…

I think it's just a motivational tool. I get a kick out of it. I take it with a grain of salt though.

I am not one to get sucked into information overload but I did think this was an interesting enough article to share. Obviously there are a ton of theories out there on everything under the sun and this is just another in a long line. This in no way represents what I think personally( I am far from educated enough to make…
