  • It is calories that count the most when it comes to weight loss. But I find that I consume fewer calories, and feel fuller when I'm eating low carb. I still eat carbs sometimes, but I eat them in moderation. I eat bread, but I eat the Aldi sprouted grain bread, because the glycemic index is lower. The slices are smaller,…
  • You made it to goal! Awesome! May I ask how tall you are?
  • Thank you, guys. It sounds like knee pain is pretty common with 30 Day Shred. I will continue to do it when I feel up to it, and not push myself. It just seems so awesome, for seeing quick results. With 3 kids, I don't always have time to do a 40-60 minute exercise, so the 20 minutes really appeals to me.
  • Thank you! I figured. It's less discouraging to hear others confirm my suspicions.
  • But it does take time for your tummy to spring back. And it usually never goes back to looking the same way as it did before pregnancy. Try to embrace that, knowing that your body was able to cultivate another human being.
  • You burn more calories than you eat? Like, if you eat 1,200 calories, you're burning more than that? If that's the case, then your body might think that it's starving. Your body needs some of the calories to be left over, so it can function. You don't need to burn all of your calories in exercise.
  • Nevermind. I figured it out. I don't see a way to delete this thread.
  • Here is an article from a local paper. Are these kind of accidents pretty typical? http://your4state.mobi/wap/news/text.jsp?sid=17&nid=2065054109&cid=4744&scid=-1&ith=3&title=News&headtitle=News
  • Just curious to those of you who've done it before. Are there typically a lot of major injuries? There was one today, in WV, and there were so many reports on the scanner about injuries. There were two drownings, but as far as I know, they were able to revive them both. They had to airlift one of the drowning victims b/c…
  • Thank you so much! Whew! That one post that explains it is really long. I've booked marked it and will check it out when I have some time to sit down and read something. :) I went ahead and joined the MFP group too. And I'll watch that video later.
  • Occasional is okay, but there are people who eat McDonalds almost every day. I used to work there, and it was disgusting that there were families who came to eat dinner at McD's at least 5 times a week. And the kids were eating full sized adult meals. Some kids as young as 10 were eating super sized adult meals.
  • Obviously it's because people eat there. And there are healthier options out there. Panera, Chipotle, and Tropical Smoothie are fast food places that offer healthier fare, but they are never as busy as McDonald's or Burger King. At least in my neighborhood they aren't as busy. It's because people prefer cheaper and fattier…
  • It seems that for me, it's about every 20 lbs. But I assume that the smaller one gets, the fewer lbs are needed in order to drop a size. I was in a size 18 at 208lbs. When I got down to about 190, I could fit into size 16. I'm 179 now, and the 16's still fit. I doubt 14's would fit me right now. In the past, when I got…
  • 5'3" At my heaviest, about 10 years ago, I was about 225 lbs and I was busting out of my size 20 jeans. At my lowest, I was down to 160 and was able to fit into size 14's. When I seriously started MFP in July, I weighed 208 lbs and wore size 18's. Currently, I'm about 182 and am wearing size 16's.
  • I know you're being tongue in cheek here, but pilates doesn't actually make anything longer. It just gives the appearance of length. Instead of adding bulky muscle, which can make limbs look shorter, it adds lean muscle, which makes limbs appear longer.
  • I don't think of muscular legs as being "thunder thighs." I consider my legs as "thunder thighs" b/c they are all jiggly. I hate my thighs and I hope they become more muscular. I want them toned! I get chaffing if I wear dresses w/o some form of shorts underneath. I have cellulite dimples all over my thighs. When I jog, do…
  • Buy some clothes. That might be boring or cliche, but I seriously don't have any big plans for when I finally reach my goal. I have no desire to ever wear a bikini. I don't feel the need to have any work done. I probably won't be able to afford a nice vacation. But we do plan to go to Disney World in spring or fall of…
  • Lots of responses, so maybe someone has said this already. Does anyone find it funny how "pastor" is squished above his name? Like, if he was really signing it, "Pastor Alex Bell" would he have put it in front of his name? It could have been added by whoever posted this online.
  • You've lost 14 lbs in two weeks, but yet you've plateaued? First off, 14 lbs is a ridiculous amount of weight to lose in 2 weeks. 2nd of all, you haven't even had enough time to plateau. What, were you losing a lb a day but haven't lost any lbs in the last couple days? When people talk about plateauing, it's usually b/c…
  • Stacimfit 25 ETA, Hey! I was spot on! I swear I didn't cheat! :)
  • I was thinking this! Puking is free. If I REALLY wanted to binge and purge, why would I pay thousands of dollars to do it this way? I'm not saying that it's okay eat and throw up. I'm just saying that eating and throwing up basically does what this procedure does. Just w/o spending all the money. Seriously, anyone who…
  • I admit that the people in here may not have presented their advice in a "nice" way, but you have to admit that wha they are saying is right. You can do this. You can eat right, and you can still exercise. Although, if you havn't exercised much in the pregnancy, it will be slightly difficult. And the longer you wait to…
  • I'm glad that there's support on here for pregnant ladies. I am not pregnant, but DH and I are thinking about having a third child. I gained way too much weight with my first two pregnancies, and so I'd like to prevent gaining a lot if I do get pregnant again. But yet I'm worried that people will react negatively about a…
  • Hi! I just saw this in the sidebar and joined! My name is Angela and I am a SAHM to two daughters, 5 (turns 6 tomorrow!) and 2.. I am homeschooling my almost 6 year old daughter. We're doing kindergarten this year. My 2 year old just plays and colors right now. :) We live in West Virginia. I've been overweight since I was…
  • Fruit=good Fruit juice=not so good I can't remember the science behind it, but even juice that has no sugar added spikes your blood sugar faster than just eating a piece of fruit. Have you noticed that when a diabetic has low blood sugar they are advised to drink a glass of orange juice? It will bring their sugar up much…
  • She said that she defines a gym bunny as someone who works out more than 3 times a week, even outside of the gym. So basically, she's talking about an "exercise bunny." I do not go to the gym, but I try to exercise at least 3 times a week. I've lost weight before w/o exercising, but I never reached my goal. I got within 25…
  • First place, my stomach and boobs. Last place, my butt and thighs.
  • I don't think there is any scientific evidence to it taking twice as long to lose it than it does to gain it. It has not been true in my case. I was able to lose 65 lbs in a year back when I was 21/22. I went from 225 to 160. I ended up gaining most of it back, but it took years. Lets see, I got married a little over a…
  • If you give up, you definitely won't see the results you want to see. I know it's not happening as fast as you'd like it to, but you WILL see results if you're on the right track.
