Tough mudder challenge

Has anyone done the tough mudder challenge? My goal is to do one next summer and I'm just trying to find out what I'm in for, I heard it's intense.

Have you checked out the bootcamp on their site?

There's quite a few of people on here that have done them. It's hands down my favorite event. I try to do one at least once a year. It's intense but so much fun. Get a team together and do the damn thing. You won't regret it. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask.

Keep doing what you are doing. They have some great body weight workouts on the TM site. Honestly, I don't think you can do much more than that, unless you want to take ice baths and electrocute yourself at home. :) I can't say enough about it. The comraderie is absolutely amazing. Everyone is helping everyone, encouraging you, picking you up when you fall, regardless of your team. I had trouble with the berlin walls and heard "help her up, help her up", next thing I knew, I had someone picking me up to get me to the top of the 12 ft wall. I still have no clue who that was.

It's not about speed, just have fun. You have time to catch your breath at some of the obstacles since there is a line at some. There isn't one part that I didn't like. Youre going to have a great time!
  • I'm signed up for my first in 128days....

I'm most worried about the running element - I'm not a runner, YET, but I will be.

Anyone who was externely overweight done this? I've got loads to lose but I'm on the right track xx

Just curious to those of you who've done it before. Are there typically a lot of major injuries? There was one today, in WV, and there were so many reports on the scanner about injuries. There were two drownings, but as far as I know, they were able to revive them both. They had to airlift one of the drowning victims b/c he had a serious head injury, and b/c of his drowning, he suffered a heart attack. He's only 30! Some people on FB said that this course was harder than the other courses that they've tried. Kind of scary.

Here is an article from a local paper. Are these kind of accidents pretty typical?

I'm doing it in June... for my 20 year high school reunion
  • I've only done a 5K mud run. For those of you who have done or plan to do the Tough Mudder, all I can say is, WOW!
