  • I do tricep overhead extensions with a resistance band. works for me! my bat wings have been shrinking slowly but there's definite progress. i also felt pulls in my chest muscles and my shoulders while doing this as well. i don't have any real weights at home (no space!) but the resistance band works well enough for me!

  • ^^^ THIS. I burn 100 calories doing aerobics in 10-15 minutes easily. I'm also much heavier than you, but my heart rate is actually quite good. In an hour and a half I can burn off over 1000 calories. Don't wait to change doctors. She's nuts.

  • I only count actual water towards my daily intake. This includes the bottle of sparkling water I drink on a daily basis (which is sugar/calorie free). I don't count my sugar/calorie free energy drinks, coffee, etc. as water. Just makes more sense to me.
  • wow mickie, way to help her out. See if your doctor can check you for an underactive thyroid. If you're tired all the time and can't lose the weight, it may be the culprit. Good luck!

  • Upstate NY update: high winds and some rain last night, but we were spared the worst. Hudson River @ Albany is under flood warning until 1pm. About 1000 people in my area lost power, but we had it all night. Winds are still fairly high in the city but only slightly higher than normal.
  • I'm on Effexor... it's not causing me to gain weight so much as making it impossible for me to lose weight at the rate I exercise. I've bottomed out at 320 and the scale either moves up or stays at 320. it's awful. i push myself hard to burn at least 5000 calories a week and it's just not going anywhere.
  • YESSS!!!! I have selective eating disorder and also rule out foods based on texture. the insides of a tomato are GROSS! slimy foods are a big no-no! and yeah, if i bite into a fatty piece of meat, i immediately remove it from my mouth and throw it on my husband's plate because he LOVES it. EW!

  • Personally, I only drink when I feel thirsty or when I'm really hungry but know I can't eat for X amount of time, just to stave off my hunger. Lately, the air has been very dry so I'm chugging water like crazy, but yeah, normally I don't drink unless I feel I need to.

  • depends on how much i've been eating/drinking. a lot of food with fiber/fat = lots of trips to the bathroom. on a good day, i'd say twice per day. on a bad day, it could be anywhere from 8-10 times, but only if my stomach is upset. humidity and head also kills my stomach and makes it worse.
