  • Definitely take the bragging rights!!!! :flowerforyou: Congrats!!! Lots of hard work, but it pays off. Stick with it girlfriend.
  •    , Banks...you kill me:laugh:  Gina, It depends on what you're looking for?? Some are here to get healthy, most for weight loss, some to see inches go away. We all have different goals and we all start from different starting points. I wish you the best of luck and know that we're all…
  • Weight loss is a funny thing...up and down all the time. It depends on your water retention, muscle gain, fat loss, blah, blah, blah. Please don't get discouraged. And only use your scale as a guide. Start measuring instead, or going by how your clothes are fitting. If I only went by the scale, I would have given up a long…
  • Sounds like a great time, wish we were all there with you. Enjoy yourself and be safe :flowerforyou:
  • I just purchased my first bikini ever. I'm 48 years old and have never owned one. I decided that I'm going to wear this thing this summer. Now that I'm less than 10 pounds from my final goal I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. When I started this journey, I told my best friend that if I can get from size 18…
  • This issue is MFP related, as it's related to lifestyle changes. You need your friends, family and especially significant other to support your new lifestyle with food so that you can be a success. If he or any one else want to be a part of your life, they need to embrace this. As an ex-food junkie I know that it's what I…
  • Hiking, swimming, water skiing, rock climbing, mountain climbing, kick boxing, horse back riding, running on a beach, biking and maybe find a minute or two to relax.
  • Thanks Banks, you're the best. Glad you're back and active. :flowerforyou:
  • I don't know anything about Leg Magic, but if you're working out 7 days a week without an off day or two to rest your body, and you're not taking in any extra calories to fuel your workouts, you maybe over training and under eating. When you over train or under eat, and especially both at the same time, you may not lose…
  • Congratualtions,it sounds like you are very enthusiastic. Walking at a good pace on an incline is actually better than running on a flat threadmill. Try to see if you can increase the incline every minute, for just one minute, and before you know it, you'll be walking on a steep incline all the time. I walked on an incline…
  • If you have to be over in any group, protein is it. Protein will help you retain your muscle mass while you're losing weight, which means that the weight that you're losing is fat and not muscle. If you're working out hard, and doing weight bearing exercises, then it will help you increase your muscle mass, which means…
  • Remember, your body is working hard to heal, so it will need additional calories, as it will be burning additional calories while it's working so hard to heal. Follow your doctor's advice, but be sure to talk to them about your concern for exercise. Typically, they want you to walk after surgery, it is usually a slow walk…
  • For complete chain of animo acids (complete protein), try a whey protien not a veggie based protein like soy. If you're lactose intolerant or a vegan, then go for the soy. FDA does not test or regulate supplements such as protein powder or drinks, so there is no proof of which brand is better or worse by the FDA, so I…
  • I had today off work so I went hiking for 3 hours this morning, went to the Columbia River Gorge, where it's so beautiful and climbed up towards Mt. Hood, total of 7.2 miles round trip and burned a total of 1347 calories.
  • Congratulations!!!! You have the right idea, it's the little battles won that keeps us going. With your attitude, I have no doubt that you will win the war. Forge on...you're doing GREAT!!
  • Yours is a question that only you can answer. It doesn't matter how much you weigh or what size you are, the thing that matter is how healthy you are, and thin does not always equate to healthy. With your body type and your height, do you look good in your current size? If you lose any more weight are you going to be…
  • Shirataki noodles are very yummy. But please remember to drink a lot of water when you're eating this as it is extremely high in fiber. Use it with low sodium broth, add veggies and chicken breast, it is very good. I've never used it like spagetti, some says it's good, some says not so good. It's up to you, but with broth…
  • About 4 years ago I had a 13 pound tumor removed from my ovaries, which is like carrying a large baby around. They estimated that I had the tumor for years. Needless to say, after I had the tumor removed there were extra skin on my belly, plus a horrible scar that ran from my belly button straight down to my pelvic bone.…
  • Yes, yes, yes...I agree with it all. The fast food, the restaurant foods and the lack of exercise or movement that we make in this country makes for horrible health. Just last week I went to a friend's house for dinner...for what promised to be a "homemade" meal. I'm single and live alone, therefore my friend thought that…
  • Hey there Bigjug, The results you and your wife are getting are great!!! Congratulations!! Congrats on not going to McD's too, like any habit, it's hard to break, but you can do it. I haven't been to a McD for about 5 years, as a matter of fact, I haven't been to a fast food joint for about 5 years. Once you get use to…
  • Welcome back banks, Great to see you again. I've been wondering were you went. Miss your posts!!!
  • Great job!!! You exercised and had banked calories for your emotional eating. If I was that smart before I found this site I wouldn't have to be here.
  • Yes, it was great to bring the clothes to the battered women shelter. Most of these women leave their home in the middle of the night with nothing but their children and the clothes on their back. I would encourage anyone giving away their old clothes to bring them to your local shelter. I was talking to the manger of the…
  • Thanks guys. I held onto my "BIG" clothes for way too long. It's very liberating to finally let them go.
  • No they are made from yam and the texture is very different. They are very tasty, but does not work well with spagetti sauce, they work best in a broth or in soup. Very yummy and fills you up. What the fiber, they are extremely high in fiber and you will get a stomach ache if you don't drink a lot of water.
  • I'm finally letting go of my large clothes. I'm bringing 15 bags of clothes that I've shrunk out of to the women's shelter today. I am letting them go as I will NEVER be back to that size again. The clothes range from size 10 to size 18. I am now a size 6.
  • Hi jessneill I have been overweight my entire life and I recently lost over 50 pounds. I also had the belly fat instead of the fat in the hip and thigh area that most women have. I was concerned about this issue because I am in my late 40's and was not sure that my skin had the elasticity, but because I last my weight slow…
  • Hi mehughes, I'm childless and in my late 40's. No chance of ever having babies unless I adopt. No chance of that either as I'm single. But you know, I enjoy children whether they are from my coworkers or friends. I take joy in letting my friend show them off, my friends are very proud of their family and they should be. I…
  • I guess I don't understand why it's dangerous for women to lift weights. I've been lifting heavy for years, I've competed in Powerlifting on and off since 1979, and back 10 years ago I was a world class Powerlifter, competed with the US Team. I've always out lifted the men in my gym and I don't understand why someone would…
