Thanks! I love your posts! I couldn't even imagine hauling around 40 extra lbs. No thanks!

Haahaa - did you guy their shape up tank top and pants too? You would think that by now adults would understand that these are nothing but gimmicks! The only way to get into shape is with good nutrition and exercise. Period. Shoes aren't going to make your butt look better!

cut into stick and put in a bowl with water - carrots too.

tofu, nuts, beans you can get natural protien. You should know this being a veggie! Super important if you're trying to lose weight and work out. You need protien. I would try to get it natrually before you go to the shakes and bars. But that's just me. Steph

You can start by sitting on a exercise ball in place of your chair for a few hours during the day.

Note that nether of these are "clean" eating/cooking sites/books Clean Eaing Mag looks pretty good. I haven't made anything from the one that I have yet. I haven't 100% bought into the clean eating. Seems like a really big task on top of already eating healthy. I do use cookinglight.com and myrecipes.com for my repices.…

I had the same issues when doing 30 Day Shred. But I think that it would have been the same starting any fitness routine. I worked thru the soreness. I was sore for the first four days, then it didn't hurt. Isn't if fun finding muscles that you haven't used in a while (ever!)

Pose it to him as a cooking challenge. If he ever watches a cooking show say soemthing like - oh honey - think you could make a healthy version of that? Or, find him a healthy recipe and ask him to make it for you. (cookinglight.com or the magazine can be found at the grocery store) Only things I can think of......sorry,…

Right now in my desk I have weight control oatmeal packets, peanut butter, almonds, prunes, some Kashi bars and homemade pumpkin seeds.

Congrats on the clean life! Not an easy thing to do. You should be really proud of your self! If you don't already - learn how to cook. One of the easiest ways to control what you put into your mouth. That, and do buy ****. You buy the crap food, you'll eat the crap food. You have to make a choice to eat bad - keep around…

In a day - calories in need to be less than calories burned. Doesn't matter what time you eat them.

You can't spot lose fat. Cardio for fat loss.

Who set that calorie amount? MFP? There isn't going to be one number that works for everyone. If that is too much for you , and you can maintain with less calories, drop to less. I know that I'm maintaining at my 1490 - I'm thinking this is where my body is happy at. If you have to eat 1700 to maintain - try drinking them,…

Oye! Another one jumping on the Jillian bashing band wagon. Give it a rest already!

It's not always about the quantity of food that you're eating, it's the quality of what you are eating. More lean protein, more fresh fruits and veggies, and water, water, water. Protein and fiber will keep you fuller, longer than the fast food/take out that you have been eating. I would try to learn to cook some meals for…

Sorry to tell you that you can't spot lose fat. You can spot tone, but when it comes to losing fat you can't pick where it comes off of.
-
Personally - I think that I might be at my maintenance calories at 1490. As scary as that sounds. With exercise and eating my exercise calories I have fluxed with in 5lbs for the past month or so. I think this might be where I am suppose to stay at. Everyone is different. There isn't going to be one magic number for…

You find it, let me know! That would rock!

If you do P90X Tony will tell you NOT to do abs every day. You don't work out your arms back or chest every day, same with abs. I'm not a trainer, but I ususally work on my every other day. There's usually SOME abs in most of the work outs that I do, but I'll do a focused ab work out every other day.
-
I would think that this is common sense.....or is that just me?
-
Mine vary between 350-450 depending on what day and how much effort I put into it. I'm 137 lbs. Steph

I would suggest going to the threads for new comers to the website. There is a lot of information there about how MFP calculates your calorie, calorie burn, eating calories, ect... What ever MPF has you set at is your daily intake. They have me at 1490. If I exercise, I am given more calories to eat if I chose to. Most…
