  • Then again, maybe she was trying to encourage you that if you lift heavier weights your uterus will fall out and make your stomach flatter. She was trying to be helpful. LOL I brought my groceries in last week and stepped on the scale holding the bags and then not holding the bags - turned out I was carrying around 50 lbs…
  • I thought I was really pushing it with the 15 lb dumbbells for my bench press today but ignored my womanly intuition. I stood up and picked up my 20 lb dumbbells and started in on my squats and BAM! SPLAT! Uterus on the floor. I should have listened to the sales lady.
  • If you want to get a decent estimate of calories you might insider investing in one with a chest strap (for continuous hr monitoring) and make sure it says that it estimates calories. Polar makes some good ones, I have the FT4 and it calculates calories for me based on my hr as well as my height, weight, age, and gender…
  • I like the proportions in your first pic, but the second pic is like DAMN she has worked hard for those abs! Love it!
  • It may feel like a negative now, but when you are older it will be a positive when you still look amazing and people ask 'how do you not have any wrinkles, you look so young for your age!?' :-)
  • 8 minutes in a lie-down tanning bed (half of what you're recommending) BURNED ME TO A CRISP in highschool. (several times, b/c I was stupid enough to keep trying thinking it would get better) That's 2 minutes on my back, 2 on my front, and 2 on each side. I had to sleep naked wrapped in sheets that I literally soaked in…
  • No tanning for me. I am fair-skinned with blue eyes, freckles, and moles. And I have at least 1 family member who had melanoma or something on his face when I was young enough that I was only vaguely aware of what was going on. I stupidly tried a tanning bed a few times in high school and burned myself to a crisp. It was…
  • There are 160 people in the US that share both my first and last name. One of them lives in my city and uses the same optometrist, every time I call to make an appointment I remind them I am not the 80 year old. My dad's name is unique, he is the only one in the US with his first and last name.
  • I was going to suggest you could try the 'breast petals' sold in the lingerie department. They are specifically designed to hide nipplage.
  • Kitty Bo? Tae Bitty?
  • LMAO at the amphibious attack tiger.
  • That's awesome! I can't wait to join a gym and get in the testosterone section!
  • To be fair, a lot of us that join MFP have very little knowledge or experience with fitness until we start doing various DVD workouts, and for many of us that is the extent of what we know about to discuss on the topic of fitness. When Jillian and Chalene and various other DVD exercise instructors who clearly know a LOT…
  • Your colon cleanses itself. Drink plenty of water and eat enough fiber. Maybe have some yogurt or probiotic supplements if you feel you need to support the balance of 'good' bacteria in the area. Sorry but that area is 'exit only'. ;-). Also I'd be worried that messing with that area artificially could mess up the balance…
  • 30ds counts as 'circuit training' in the database. Log it as 20 minutes, though, so you're not getting too high of a calorie estimate, since you are not working as hard during the warmup and cool down.
  • Most moms that wear their babies feel that the sense of security and trust attachment parenting gives their little ones acutally HELPS them be independent as they grow. Just wanted to throw that out there. Just b/c it's not a good fit for you and your family does not make it bad for others. It's not about limiting your…
  • I have a digital Taylor scale from Target, not sure of the exact model but it only has 2 buttons (one that turns it on/off and also zeros it out for example if you put a plate on it and then add food to it, and one that switches the units between grams and ounces) and I believe it has a 6 lb capacity. I love it. I bought…
  • Natural waist (smallest circumference of the abdomen) or navel (largest part of abdomen, for me anyway)? When you say 'waist' I'm not sure which one you're referring to, since I see different I structures on different bodyfat calculators. There is a significant difference in those 2 measurements for me (probably 3 or 4…
  • LOVE my Polar FT4. Quality product. And that is about the price you are going to find anywhere for it.
  • Pick your favorite form of cardio and go for it. ;-)
  • Originally I had it set for 125, then when I got to about 130 I decided to bump it down to 120. I'm currently 123. Still got curves. Working on perking up and smoothing out some of the curves by exercising with heavier weights. :-) The 'healthy BMI' range for 5'4" is between 107-147 I think. I was 105 in high school and it…
  • You can train your muscles to hold in tighter by doing that but it does absolutely nothing for stretched-out skin. I do it constantly and I still have a 'hang' leftover from how ridiculously far my pregnancies stretched out my skin. I even did it DURING pregnancy b/c it was damn near painful to just let my huge belly hang.…
  • I met my husband on matchmaker.com - I think it's now match.com. Had to weed through some real weirdos before I found him, but it took less than a month to find my keeper (I had a 1-month free trial and I cancelled my membership after I found him LOL). We dated for almost 4 years and have now been married for over 5 years…
  • Thanks for experimenting for me. :-). So that has got to be my problem, I need to be more aware of how I'm distributing my weight and not rely on that back leg for support.
  • Thanks, I will definitely try to pay more attention to keeping my weight on that front heel.
  • Isn't that one pretty expensive though?
  • Boobs make for more exciting threads than BMR.
  • Doing chest exercises is actually supposed to build up the muscle under the girls and keep them looking fuller. It certainly will not make them shrink since you can't do any exercise that would cause a spot-reduction of fat. Fat will just come off wherever your body naturally burns it off, you can't influence the location…
  • Not always. Some women will find that their band size will shrink while their cup size remains the same or even increases. Sadly mine drunk, both the band size and the cup size. And after the ridiculous size they expanded to while breastfeeding, now they are like a couple of sad sacks. LOL. I was a solid overflowing 34DD…
  • BMR is not 'maintenance calories', BMR is 'not rolling out of bed today calories'. TDEE is maintenance calories. Caloric deficit is TDEE minus the food/calories you consume.
