Well my little big guy has arrived - Ethan Gilbert - went to 40 weeks 3 days and was born at 12:17 am on June 28 - 9.0 lbs 21" with a 14.5" head. The birth went great, my fastest ever (third baby) and in the water just like I wanted. I'm down 14 lbs from the birth LOL but will have a lot of work ahead of me after my…

Oh my gosh, look at all the crazy cuteness! Aaaaaah~! I haven't been active on here lately but today is my due-date so I thought I'd pop in and say 'Hi' and check on you ladies. So many beautiful babies! I'm officially up 60 lbs (holy cow, I had gotten down to my goal weight of 120 just before getting pregnant LOL) - so…

Take measurements at various points on your body, stick to your food and exercise plan and ignore the scale for 1 month. At the end of the month of diligent exercise and diet, re-take your measurements and look at those numbers before you even weigh yourself. It is normal for the body to retain water when you start up an…

Yes. I lost my first 10 lbs through my calorie deficit alone. After I lost my first 10, I got interested in exercise and started adding it in so I could have more energy. Bonus, I dropped inches faster and got to eat more food while losing weight at the same rate. But strictly speaking, exercise is not required for…

I purchased and started wearing a BodyMedia Fit armband and discovered I NEVER burned as few calories as MFP thought I did - I had it set to sedentary, turns out I am Very Active.

Giving a birth weight estimate at 20 weeks is RIDICULOUS. First off they ave no idea at that point if you'll deliver at 37 weeks or 42 (both are in full-term range). 5 weeks makes a big difference! Secondly, 4 lbs 2 oz is a perfectly respectable 32 week size. My good friend had her first baby just over 31 weeks and he was…

Well you are almost out of the first trimester and that's when the risk of miscarriage goes down *dramatically*. So take heart, you will soon be out of the most precarious phase. It's really annoying that they would give you scary statistics like that though without there even being an actual reason for concern. Stress is…

I counted on my calendar wrong the first time and thought I was due in July LOL - turns out my due date is June 24 - I had my first 2 babies 2 and 3 weeks early so I'm expecting it will probably be early-mid June. :-)
-
Also, even if you do have a big chunky 10 lb baby, keep in mind fat is squishy. ;-)
-
I am currently pregnant with my third baby - I am *just barely* starting to show right now (like after a big meal LOL) but with my first 2 my bump was HUGE - I was the one constantly getting questioned by strangers asking if I was having twins, people sharing stories of their friend who has a cousin who's sister thought…

Oops, turns out I counted wrong on my cell phone calendar! LOL I thought I was due in July but it turns out it's actually June 24. :-)
-
I'm due July 11 but my first 2 babies were born 2 and 3 weeks early so I'm anticipating a late June arrival. I'll have to wait and see. :-)

All babies are scrunched up in the uterus whether they're breech or not. There *is* I think a risk of hip issues but they will check for that after the baby is born. My older brother was actually born frank breech (vaginal birth, 35 years ago) and had no issues whatsoever. And even if baby is born and doesn't want to…

With my first, I felt movements right at 16 weeks. With my second, it was earlier. Now I'm 8 weeks with baby #3 and waiting to see when I will know for sure that this one is moving. Can't wait. :-)

Your body needs energy and nutrition to fight off illness. I vote maintenance calories or at least somewhat close to it when sick. Maintenance won't make you gain weight but it might help you feel better. :-)

I still check every now and then but I have a bad habit of forgetting about my groups. :-)

Guys look at her profile. She's still looking to lose another 24 lbs. She says she's struggled with eating disorders in the past. Honestly it seems like she is still struggling. OP You're a beautiful girl. Talk to a dr and get to a registered dietician so they can help you continue to be beautiful and healthy as well. :-)

I think I shall make this again tomorrow. I don't even know ow many times I've made it already. LOL. I love that it is a treat and has some decent protein. I know some people aren't into the Spelnda flavor but it works just fine for me. :)

My husband and I are working our way through Insanity together. We are not able to stick strictly to the schedule so it's taking us longer, however it is definitely a great workout and we are seeing results. Just in doing the first fit test and the second one a couple weeks later, I had a 20% overall improvement in…

OP I can relate and I think you can relate to me as well. I started off being 5'4" 165 lbs and LOATHED exercise in any form. If I didn't have to get off of the couch, I didn't! Sad but true. I got winded just going up the stairs in my house. I lost my first 10 lbs just sticking to the calories and not incorporating any…

That's such an odd thing for her to say, given that your abs are not like blocking your vagina or anything. LOL IDK, I have never heard of people in better shape having a harder labor. I was completely out of shape for both of my births and had HORRENDOUS back labor. I know they say a lot of that has to do with the…

I have the 'core' model (the one that's smaller) and my husband has the 'link' version. I find it to be EXTREMELY helpful. Before I got it, I had my MFP set to 'sedentary' and it was recommending around 1500 calories per day. My armband consistently shows me burning at least 2000 per day even on lazy no-workout barely even…

How quickly you lose weight is a function of how much you eat in relation to how much energy your body uses. If you do Insanity and also eat less then yes you're probably going to lose weight very quickly. But I'm currently doing Insanity and eating maintenance (as directed by my Bodymedia Fit armband i.e. 2000-2500…

Some HRM's have a function that allows them to estimate your calorie burn. I have the Polar FT4 which has a chest strap (continuous monitoring) and it estimates calorie burn for me during workouts (you program in your height/weight/age and it uses that info along with your heartrate to constantly update an estimate of the…

I always ate back at least most of mine and I never really hit a plateau. Worked well for me. :-) But I was also set to 'sedentary' in my profile so MFP was calculating my calorie goal based on me being lazy. So when I started exercising, I needed the extra fuel. If you activity level is set correctly (not including your…

I agree, go ahead and log what you've eaten so far today. When you look at how things add up it can be really eye-opening. That was a huge first step for me, just realizing how MUCH I was eating in comparison to what my body actually needs. Once I saw what I was already doing, I had an idea of what I needed to change.

You ladies that have back/shoulder/neck pain might benefit from some heavy weightlifting. Build up some muscle to support the extra weight. Might make a huge difference in your comfort. :-) Plus decreasing your bodyfat percentage by way of buliding muscle may also cause the girls to shrink a bit. I had an overflowing DD…

When you have less to lose, it comes off slower. Sure, people that have a LOT of weight to lose can sometimes lose large numbers for the first month or two. But when you only have 20 to lose in the first place, it makes sense that you're not going to get to your goal in only 1 month. Larger people burn more calories just…

Yep I know that I like to snack at night, and I know I can't stand going to bed hungry so I 'budget' calories so that I can have a few snacks after dinner. It's worked well for me.
