I agree here. I just enjoy running, I always have. I do it to relax, and to think, not really for the calorie burn or on a cardio craze. I've played other sports, like ice hockey and volleyball, but I still love running the most.

Don't over think it. It's really not as hard as it seems, since you've been following the program. Listen to music, think of other things, anything to get your mind off of it, and don't keep checking the clock. You'll be surprised how well you do. I'm on Week 7 Day 1 today.

I do most of my running on a treadmill due to location and time, but I always thought running outside was way easier. It's fun and scenic and has more obstacles to play around with. It makes me feel more accomplished, because I'm actually going someplace. I'm starting back running after a 7 year or so break, so I'm on Week…

This should have been a quote of the Fleet Feet comment, but that failed. So yea, running stores. They really help. Runner's world has a Store Finder on their website, if you live in the US.

I've done barefoot running years ago, I'm not sure they made shoes for it back then. I've never bought a pair of "barefoot" shoes, but I considered this, since I have less soft places to run as I used to.

You should see the 6lbs 3oz Sweet Potato I dug up from my garden this year!
-
I got mine activated, but have not figured out how to talk to Siri yet. Though I haven't really tried very hard.

I got some cheap things at target I like pretty well. Not sure what brand they are. Luckily now I live near outlet malls, and I can find some cheap stuff at the under armour outlet. It doesn't wear out as quickly.

Thanks everyone. I know I don't have as much to lose as a lot of people around, but I'm still proud of it. The last 10 pounds are always the hardest, especially if that's most of what you want to lose. LOL.

Great Job! Doesn't it feel awesome!

You know what works for me? Go to a mirror, maybe in the restroom, and find the place on your body you hate the most, or want to tone, then find the worst angle to look at it and watch it jiggle.

I've had scoliosis since jr high. They discovered it too late in my growing to do surgery, so I've had to work around it my whole life. I have two curves, somewhere around 25 and 35 degrees. What I've found is that the stronger your core muscles (Abs) are, the less is hurts. I've got about 4-6 inches of height wound up in…

My HRM shows more calories burned, for example, MFP will say something like 176 for two miles, and HRM will say around 220 (this is for running).
-
I always use the lower amount. MFP gives me a lower number on running, but the treadmill takes my age, weight, and I wear a heart monitor, so it's around 220calories for 2 miles, instead of the 170 MFP will show me. Overestimate on food calories, underestimate on exercise calories and so far the scale is cooperating with…

Look up one hour runner, and try that program. It's basically a 10K training program, but it's based on time, not distance, so it should help. I plan on starting it when I'm finished.

As long as you're happy, keep going for it. It's not like you've chosen a dangerous low weight as your goal, it's in the healthy range. They probably are jealous, or worried you'll leave them behind in your fabulous trail.

The first week I started, I had a dream about eating cookies. I read the package and it said something like 742 calories per cookie. I thought "No wonder I'm overweight!"

You will find a lot of short people around here who are in a similar situation. Even 10 extra pounds on a short person, especially one with a small frame goes a long way to make you feel overweight. Personally I'm 5'2", was 137 at my highest (Not counting pregnancy). I started at 125.6 a little over 3 weeks ago, trying for…
-
I'm also 5'2", started at 126.5, and I'm at the end of week 3, down to 121.6. Trying to get down to 110-115 range depending on how my muscle mass develops. I'm also at the end of week 3 of the Couch 2 5K running program. Got some belly fat to lose from having a baby last December. Feel free to add me.
-
I'm at the end of week 3 and I've lost an inch from my waist, and an inch from my hips. I've not got much to lose, so I figure that's a big accomplishment.

I gained somewhere around 37 or so pounds, I can't remember. I only had a 6lb 6oz baby. I ate pretty bad, so I'm trying to do better when I have another. Daughter is almost 10 months old now, and I'd been 10-11 pounds up for most of that time, so I'm finally getting around to getting it off. I have to be a good example for…

I'm also 5'2". I'm trying to lose baby weight from child 1, before trying to conceive child #2. I only had about 10 pounds I wanted to lose, and I've lost 4 pounds as of the three week mark today. I think we're the best judge of what weight we can be happy at once we get out of the dreaded "overweight" category, the…

Someone referenced this formula once, so I used that as a rough estimate. It takes into account your current muscle mass so you can calculate a number that doesn't eat into muscle as well as fat. I'll use my starting numbers as an example. Current weight X percentage body fat=Pounds of fat 125.6 X .265=33.284 Current…

I grow a pretty decent sized garden and can or freeze what I can each year. Started out with just a little, and now each year I've got a whole pantry and freezer full. Corn, beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomato sauce, salsa, peppers. Also, working in the garden during the summer is great exercise. I can't imagine how…

I'm in the middle of week 2 on the treadmill. I like it so far. I don't have a good place nearby to run outside, because the roads near me are so busy. This works out fairly well. Although I'd rather be out of trails someplace, I haven't run in years, so I'm working back into it slowly. I keep the printout on the wall by…

I'm 5'2" (I recently grew an inch due to improvement in my scoliosis). Currently I'm down to 123.8, but like you said, that kind of weight can be rough on a short person. I'm going to try to get down to 115, then see how I feel, and how toned I am at that point. I'm always trying to explain this to my taller and heavier…

I like this idea. I don't have much to lose, but I'm short with a small frame, so 11 pounds goes a long way on my thighs. GW: 115 lbs CW: 126 lbs Height: 5'2" Age: 31

Sometimes it can be hard to lose weight when you're with a man who seems like he can eat twice what you do and still lose. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm only 5'1" and I don't need to eat that much. Good luck. I just joined here and there seems to be a lot of positive support.
