  • T-Day aside, I find it an interesting consequence of eating planned and healthy meals that stuff I used to really enjoy doesn't appeal so much anymore. I have generally reserved Friday nights as a bit of an "indulgance" night and so far each has been a bit of a disappointment. I'm not sure how much is guilt(!), but the…
  • "1 piece pecan pie (1/8 of 9-in pie) 480 " Damn, that's my favorite!
  • Had a recent upswing myself lately. It happens. Just keep at it and don't get discouraged!

  • Lean on yourself  I've been pretty diligent about my program adn was just posting about how I'd reached a 'floor' at 205. Spent about 2 weeks breaking that and I've just these past 2 days been under. So, some patience is needed sometimes. Also it could be water.
  • (ala Homer Simpson) mmmmm impacted fecal matter... arglarglarglarglll... But, seriously, folks! I've seen my weight go up and down like that. When it suddenly drops, I only count it as an indicator that I'm on my way to that point, not that I've reached it. I've been hitting a floor trying to break 205. Imagine my…
  • Yeah, that's a big one and my worst downfall. Welcome to you both!
  • Very cool. I can't imagine getting your esophogus scraped or stretched would have been much fun.
  • Partially ego, I confess. I worked out through much of my 20's and I would like to get back to looking like I did then. Partially spiritual. I'm not a religeous person, but I believe I should try to follow a spiritual path for a better life. Improvement of body, mind and soul; they are 3 legs of the same stool. Partially…
  • That sucks! There was a similar post lately where folks were suggesting doing upper body exercises from a chair, swimming and other things as alternatives for the duration of the convalesence. I'm sure if you use your imagination you can still get some cals burned, but I guess you'll be wanting to keep a close eye on on…

  • I think if you are that unsure and you are breastfeeding, you should get some quality advice, perhaps from your doctor. Here's a link to your own post where someone has replied as to how much breastfeeding is likely to burn: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1886-breastfeeding Since you put your baby at risk by…
  • Howdy and good luck!

  • Welcome! Everything changes at 30, doesn't it?? It's like the warranty runs out or something.
  • Welcome! As CM said, eat healthy, log your calories. I do it each meal and sometimes I'll use it even before eating to plan what I can eat. Fruit and veggies for snacks. Eat your fibre, it reduces hunger.
  • Welcome & good luck!

  • There had to be some mix up when setting your goals. You can go back and redo them. You sure your reading calories and not carbs or something?
  • The Booty Ballet... Sounds like a bad rap video.
  • That's awesome. I'm glad to hear this is helping you. Welcmoe to the site!
  • Eat them. The 1200 is for doing nothing (basic survival calories, like for breathing and stuff). The other calories you "earn" from exercise should be consumed. They sort of cancel each other out so you remain at your target of 1200 cals. If you do not eat enough calories, you go into "starvation mode" where the…
  • Greetings and welcome!
  • Cheated, too. I'd intended to splurge for Friday night, but that carried thru the whole weekend. I'm not too upset. I try to think of it as an opportunity for my body to collest up on stuff it may have been lacking.
  • Hello and welcome!!
  • Welcome to the site! I would recommend you get a scale and weigh your portions. How else will you know how many calories you are consuming? It seems like a pain, but it is not so bad. After a while certain things you just get to know and won't need to weigh each time. I got a good digital scale with Tare function (adjusts…
  • I'm not in this challenge, but isn't is awesome to lose 15 pounds?!? Congratulations!!!!!

  • I've got enough weeks in now to begin to see a pattern in my Progress: Weight report. I weigh almost every day so there are several data points to a week. Thursdays are consistantly my highest weight days. Even during one week where I gained overall it was the same. I generally meet my calorie targets no matter the day of…
  • I don't recall any limits here on the site, but you might want to try resizing first. Use MS Photo Editor and get it so it's about an inch by an inch when viewed at 100%. If you still have problems, try posting this in the Feedback topic.
  • That's probably not so surprising a feeling. One of the reasons we humans need fat is to protect our organs and cusion our bones. We just don't need so much as some people have. I think... was it Banks posting that he used to have a BFI so low it was life threatening? Anyway, I think if you lost a lot of weight like that,…
  • Stop Eating! <-- Support  Welcome and good luck! This site will help you a lot if you can keep to the targets. I've been totally surprised for myself. You will, too!

  • It doesn't matter so long as any comparisons you make are from the same time of day. I weigh in the mornings myself, because I figure I'm weighing just me and not any food I recently ate.
  • Exercise can help. I've attacked the weights during a very angry day recently and by the time I was done, I felt much better. Not to mention the work out was very intense! The journaling sounds like a good idea. Like getting stuff off your mind by talking about it to someone. This one may sound stupid, but I have found…
