That's still a bit away for me, but I anticipate I will always need this site or something like it. I'd rather maintain when I get there than repeat the cycle, so I will continue to need to track everything. Also, just getting into it is making me much more aware of how I do nutrifying myself. Some of it is much better…

Welcome!

Welcome! The only success with weight I've ever had has been since starting this site. I suffer a lot of 'start & don't finish' myself, but it's working with the help of this site and the people on it.

I protest! There is nothing similar under Mens swimwear.

Hi, Charlotte and welcome. You do sound a bit discouraged. :( I can tell you from my time here, short though it is, that without the added calorie burn from exercising, then each day just becomes a counting chore. Good enough, but it's nice to be able to have a good meal with no guilt because of the extra you can eat from…

Liz, welcome! I joined begining of the month and I have steadily crept toward my goal (220 - 190 for now; I'm 6' .) I can honestly say I would probably have made little progress and have given up by now if it were not for this site adn the great people on it. Good luck!

Good luck on that. Sounds like a reasonable approach. My drink is beer. With only 3 beer taking the calories of an entire meal, I'm just cutting it out. I am mostly just a Friday-nighter, but I've been one most of my life, so it'll be an adjustment. Wish ME luck! :)

Sorry I couldn't get any feedback for you on that. :( So, are you able to exercise? It would help increase your metabolism. I personally lean toward weight training. I like the idea of calories burning off while I'm sitting still. :) Plus the burn... even the stiffness and 'pain' the next day... All very adicting to me.…

Also, if you do exercise and add it in your Exercise Diary, the calories burned for that exercise get *added* to your total for the day. So the Calories Remaining is adjusted for what you burned with the additional exercise. Note that not all exercises in the DB will calculate calories for you. Basically only what is…

Welcome and good luck, both of you!

I get it. That's a good site, thanks for the link. Some of those items are things I would eat alone, for example, tomatoes. I eat those like apples. So, lets say there was no actual 'spread' between calories gained and burned, and it's a break-even. Does it mean I would list them on my food diary as 0 calories?
-
"Celery, carrots, apples etc, fruit and veggies that are high in fiber take more calories to burn than they contain." Please explain: It sounds like the food gives (ie:) 50 Cal, but I need to burn 75 to work them off? Maybe I'm just dense. :) It would be great to know there was something that could be eaten when near the…

Not a vegan, myself. I live for the BBQ, but welcome! =)

Welcome! I am just getting back into the workout sessions myself since I started on this site. Whenever I work out, I just love it. I think I get something like a 'runner's high' and I don't want to stop. Yet somehow, work outs are always something I'm "getting back into". Hopefully we'll both get back in the swing!

Whoops I forgot the "How do I resist part" :) I just try really hard to not enter certain establishments. I am generally successful enough that when I have, I've been able to prepare by reserving a bunch of the day's calories for the event. ...For the most part. :)

I've never had much of a sweet tooth. My weakness is the Other kind of junk food... Burgers, Donairs, anything with meat in it....

Hey, a fellow Canuck! Welcome & good luck!!

I work totally remote now, but for most of my time with my Co I've been in the office a day or two each week. I'm not one for making lunches, so I always took prepared foods like frozen dinners, granola bars, etc. And lots of it, yet by the time I got home I would be famished and pounce on the potato chips while I waited…

I am learning! Learning about things other than me. Forgive my ignorance, but why.. why does one have a problem eating? It is all I can do to keep under 2000ish per day and my goal is 1400. ? I begrudge my friggin' bowl of bran flakes... "You got too much calories you *kitten* Bran!!!" That is what I say to my bowl every…

See? =)

Toughie. I wish I could do more than just to welcome you to the site. =( Your dedication to helping those in need is exemplary. And it is basically at the expense of your own body, when you think about it. Saint-hood looms? :)
-
(And I'm sorry; I know that this can be a problem wfor some folks, but for me it is totally unfathomable! :) )
-
I SOOOO wish I had this "problem"! What are you, CM, like 10 feet tall? ;-)
-
I hate to ask the obvious, but have you checked with your doctor(s)?
-
Welcome! ...I started to write stuff, but you sound way on top of everything! So, I hope you stick around so we can all benefit from your knowledge and experience. :)
-
meecheeda, welcome to the group! You are off the wall with anything I know about, but if anyone here does, you can be sure of support. It's a great community af MFP. :)
-
I also LOVE eating! This site has helped me a lot. Not only from the calorie counting, but just from being part of a little community of like-minded people. =) Often there are not a lot of supporters near by in one's 'Real Life' and certainly very few who would have the constant-and daily-concern as one of us 'Counters'…

My GF has Crohns. She tires of my calorie obsession, but she might even post for you after I tell her some one was asking. :) I know that with Crohn's there are strong dietary requirements and that it is not the same for everyone. There are difficulties in creating a diet for which to lose or gain weight. However, weight…
