  • Wow, that's a drastic difference. There's nothing that says you can't keep riding longer, or take a longer route home. That's what I used to do.
  • 11/15 owls = 2 (the soreness is disappearing, yay!) newts = 10 HP = 85
  • Fruits and veggies, yogurt. Those are usually my snacks.
  • We had an interesting walk today. We went out into a light sprinkle. But that was ok because it was in the mid 70's and the rain drops were the same temp. But after about 10 minutes, a heavy down pour drenched us. We turned around and ran home but by the time we got there it had slowed to rain instead of a downpour. Since…
  • 11/14 owls = 1 newts = 10 hP = 90
  • I am with you on this. I usually make wheat pasta and brown rice and it drives my husband crazy. If I don't cook foods he likes, he'll eat out which is just too expensive so I cook two main dishes and we share sides. He's had cancer twice so you would think he'd be more prone to eat healthy foods, but he has no desire.
  • Well you can't change yesterday but you made a good choice this morning. I bet your dogs were thrilled to get to go for a walk.
  • I would beg to differ. I have bicycled over 70 miles while sick, in the desert with no shade on a 107 degree day (I had no choice since I was keeping up with a group and our next campground was that far away). I was exhausted and nearly dead at the end of the day when I drank some ice cold water. Never felt so refreshed in…

  • Making changes is really hard for me but I am constantly trying to change. I have given up sugar/artifical sweetners and replaced it with agave nectar, honey and pure maple syrup. They are more expensive so I use much less. I quit eating white flour. That cuts out a lot of foods too. I do allow anything with wheat or other…
  • I know how you feel. I can eat 2 scrambled eggs on a bed of veggies, a glass of milk and a banana and still feel hungry..it never seems to go away. I had heard that water helps...but it never seemed to be the case for me. However, what I have just started doing which seems to help a bit is to make myself drink 24 oz. of…
  • That is so neat. I really want one of these...someday, maybe.
  • Mine is public.
  • I've done great. No meat. However, if you look at my diary, today's food is listed under tomorrow's date...it's just how I have found it works for me.
  • I'm going on a backpacking trip this weekend...Going to get lots of house points for us...but my clean eating may suffer...going to try to figure out a way to eat healthy without having to lug around 10 lbs of veggies. Any suggestions?
  • Good job everyone!! We got our walk in directly after work. We went out for 1 hour, 25 minutes. It was unusually hot so they ran the first mile or so before they realized how hot it actually was, then they alternated between moseying and running. Then the last mile was at a fairly steady run again since they wanted to be…
  • I have a list of things since I've given up sugar...and it's in everything so I have to cook a lot from scratch but my favorites are chicken broth, wheat tortillas and sauerkraut. I never liked chicken broth or tortillas until I made them at home...they can't be beat!
  • That's a pretty place! I'd share one but I forgot how to upload pics onto here.
  • You can do it! It's just one week. Who knows, you may find you enjoy having more veggies in your diet and it will become a habit for you.
  • 11/13 Newts: 10 (3 fruit - 7 water) Owls: 0 HP: 0 Not feeling so good this weekend. Took a break from everything active. Feeling better today, going to get back in it. I've already done one set of pushups (ouch!). A question: Do almond butter and cheese count as clean foods?
  • Sugar...anything sugary...I'm talking sauces for meals, desserts, chocolate milk...anything sweet really. It's so hard because it's in everything not homemade. I made a cake for my DH last week and almost ate my hand when I got some cake batter on it. It was killing me...but I resisted. Having to give up sugar (which I…
  • Scrambled eggs only take a few minutes to make and are good, add some chopped veggies. Oatmeal is similarly quick (even quicker if you have a microwave, which I don't), add some chopped fruit and/or nuts. Those are the breakfasts I usually have and I am always running late so they have to be made very quickly.
  • My current goal is 141. I am currently at 150 and in a healthy BMI range though.
  • My weighin is 151.0...up .8 from last week. :o( I figured it would go up since I stayed up so late every night and snacked because I was so tired. This week doesn't look any better as I have a bunch of stuff to get ready before I head out for a weekend backpacking trip.
  • Does water count towards Newts points, or just the food this week?
  • Breakfast: scrambled eggs, roma tomato, apple snack: banana lunch: cheesy apple calzone snack: yogurt with frozen blueberries dinner: layered dip with zucchini chips snack: fruit
  • I'm a mutt...I am part Cherokee Indian, Scottish, German...and most recently my dad, who is really into geneology, found out we're realated to a Nordic King, King Gnor...sometime in the 1600's I think he said. Anyway, I have ancestors in many Eurpoean countries. But American is the only culture I know.
  • Question: Do eggs count as meat?
  • I'm in. I'll be doing a weekend backpacking trip Fri - Mon but I will walk them at least the 3:30 in the 4 days before that.
  • Great choice! So if I have 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, can I count my snacks if they are also clean?
  • That is horrible about your ex!! 11/11 Owls = 2 Newts = 20 (3 fruit - 17 water) HP - 70
