I just noticed today that my active minutes on the fitbit app went way up. I account for my activity on MFP and it was showing the same on fitbit. But this morning I noticed I have way more active minutes then I actually logged on MFP. Is this due to the new guidelines?? There was a fitbit app update a couple days ago for…

Amazing story!!! More people need to know life is good and you have an amazing story to tell them. Congrats on your accomplishments and stick with it. You can now enjoy life to the fullest!!

Completely agree. It is great! I finished Thanksgiving week and have continued to run as well. The progress you make is unreal. Never thought I would be able to run for 30 minutes but now I can.

Great job!!! Go, Go, Go!!!

I agree with using this app. It is great and helps you track your runs!

I did it last fall with my 5k on Thanksgiving and am currently on week 3 of round 2....trying to increase my speed. I do all the training on a treadmill so no excuses not to run. :-) It is a great program. Stick with it and you will be amazed at your endurance. Concentrate on running for the minutes stated in the program…

WOW....you look great. Definitely be proud!! There is a big difference in your look, so I'm sure you are feeling that. Good job!!

We LOVE it grilled too! Just with EVOO and a sprinkle of Paula Dean's Silly Salt.....yummo!!!!

I would just start slow to see how your body reacts. It didn't take long to adjust to it, I just way over did it the first time since it seemed like I could get through it without much problem. But in the end I did too much. :-)

3 lb weights are fine to start with. If you haven't done anything in a while you could even do the first day without weights to see how it feels. The last few days of level 1 I moved up to 5 lb weights, but now on level 2 I am back to using 3 lb. There are a few exercises where I may start to use 5 lb as I am on day 6 of…

Good luck to all of you starting Couch to 5k. Stick with it and go at your own pace and you will make it through the program trust us graduates. :-) I completed my first round of the program all on the treadmill. I ended Thanksgiving weekend with a 5k on Thanksgiving day. It feels great to get to the end and see how much…

By the way, congrats on your babies upcoming 1st birthday! What fun! Also my triplets share her birthday.....we go from Chirstmas mode, to New Years mode, to Birthday mode within 3 weeks! It's exhausting.....but fun. :-)

Cardio is the best way to blast fat. If you are interested in running, or have a treadmill so you don't have to leave the house, the Couch 2 5k program is great. It works you up slowly to be able to run a 5k. It's 30 min, 3 times a week. I completed it Thanksgiving weekend and couldn't believe how far I had come. I needed…

No problem. :-) I had the same question when I started and found the answer on this site too. :-)

Yep, a couple days off could help you recover faster. Keep up with your liquids and eating well though, as well as you can anyway. There is also a above & below the neck theory......below the neck, take time off until it clears up, could turn into a worse chest cold and impact your breathing. Above the neck, can continue…

Exactly what happened to me! But now I love it and just get the "I had a good workout" soreness when I increase weights and moved to level 2.
-
Totally agree, don't skip ahead, you need to build endurance or the hard days will sneak up on you. :-)

Yep...Couch to 5k is a great program. It builds up your endurance and lets your body get used to running at a slow pace. I was never a runner but completed the progam without injury Thanksgiving week with my first 5k on Thanksgiving day. The app for android/iphone is great to have. I did all my training on the treadmill so…

I had completed the 9 week Couch to 5k running program right before I started 30 DS. I thought I would be fine, endurance was up, legs felt strong, figured it would be my arms that were sore. WRONG.....I could not walk for 2 days after Day 1. In total I took 4 days off and started over. The first day I had no trouble doing…

Circuit Training, general I put in 20 min and it generates calories burned based on your weight, ect. When I got to level 2 I put in 22 minutes because I know I'm burning more calories. This doesn't count the warm up and cool down time but should keep the calorie burn realistic. Others have said the best way to see the…

I am on level 2 day 3, but have not done it everyday. I take a day off every 3-4 days. I think that keeps me from getting burnt out. The first day I did the video I couldn't walk for 2 days after so take it easy the first couple days. Even though you may be able to do each move to the full extent take it easy until you see…

I did the Couch to 5k program, used the Ease into 5k android app. It was wonderful. I had about 12-15 lbs to lose when I started and the running combined with MFP really melted my "love handles". The cardio is great for that. When I finished the C25K program I moved on to 30 Day Shred to tighten the rest up. I am just…

Agree with above.. Reading posts om MFP, most agree 1200 cal is a minimum and should eat back workout calories. If you are not eating your workout calories you are probably way below the 1200 and your body just needs more fuel. Rest days are important for you body to recover. If you need to do something everyday maybe…
