A family friend got this done a few years ago. She had horrible complications. In and out of the hospital & she almost died. Then she gained all the weight back in 3 years. Take the time to learn new habits surrounding food, or it will never stick. It will give you a jump start, but it is up to you to continue down the…

Both of these ways to measure body fat are inaccurate. Essentially they send a pulse of electricity through your body & depending on how long it takes to get back determines your "body fat." The readings can be influenced by your water retention, time of the month, humidity in the room, fluid intake, last time you peed...…

I am sorry for what you're going through. For the record, you haven't ruined anything. This is a learning process. We're all bumbling our way through it. You have now seen that binging doesn't make you feel better emotionally. Is there a behavior that does help? Even if it's just a little? Going for a walk, getting…

12 months or 2 years or 10 years will pass. No matter what you do. You can choose to use that time bettering yourself or you can choose to use it staying where you are. Things taking a long time is a silly reason not to do them.

Yes, it is ABSOLUTELY work it! Can you feel a difference since you've started? Do you feel healthier, happier, more srong, able to walk further or move better? Think about all the things that have improved in your life since you've made this life change. 9lbs in 21 days is amazing, but it's not JUST about the weightloss,…

Answer perfection. I personally (as a newbie lifter) am loving Strong Curves: a woman's guide to building a better butt and body. That's what my book says. I would definitely recommend buying the book as a person new to lifting, especially if you're a reader. He goes into form, why he wrote the program the way he did,…

Sounds like a "lifestyle" type of activity. Make sure you pick the right activity level for MFP & don't log it as exercise.

OMG I WANT TO GO!!!!! I LOVE hiking and everything about this looks AMAZING. However, this looks like a VERY taxing hike. 3-4 hrs to the top (then you have to go back down. That's probably 8+ hrs for someone not accustomed to hiking). Climbing 2k feet. Yeah, it's going to be hard as hell for you as an unseasoned hiker. I…

I have a trip to Italy (from US) at the beginning of July, and I would like to get to 150lbs by then (156.5 as of last Thurs). So long as I lose sliiiightly over 1lb a week, I should make it. I also want to complete the Strong Curves Beginner program. My first weight lifting program. So I want to continue getting stronger.…

LOL. Sorry that happened to you, but this post made me laugh. Yeah, just delete the calories. In your stomach for a minute means they never made it far enough into your system to get absorbed in any quantity that actually matters. Lol...

Probably this. How are you measuring your food? For most accuracy you should be using a food scale. Eyeballing, guessing & using a measuring cup are not accurate.

No! Enjoy it! It's OK to enjoy your food and feel good! Good gracious, you even stayed well under ur calorie goal! Relax and allow yourself to feel indulgent. Gracious, you don't have to feel deprived & empty all the time to be successful. That's getting into disordered eating just as much as an obsession with needing to…

My husband was working for an oil drilling company when I met him :) As far as workouts, im sure you can find some pretty intense body weight routines out there. Pullups, pushups, handstand work, human flags, planches etc. If I were you, I'd do some googling.
-
If you want to grow or strengthen your legs & butt, I'd suggest finding a strength training routine that's written to do those things & then follow it. I would recommend Strong Curves, personally. It's written specifically for women who want to develop, well, Strong Curves. Specificly a shapely, full butt & sexy legs.

Yes, yes, yes to all of this.

Yes. I get stared at, catcalled & once chased down the street. When we lived in Omaha I couldn't leave the house without being yelled at. Literally, one of the times I was wearing a hoodie & jeans. I actually had a friend have the nerve to tell me that I would be mad when I was old & fat and men don't catcall me anymore.…

Just tell her that when you workout, you need to stay in the zone. If she comes to talk to you, it messes up the flow of your workout. If you wear headphones, remind her of the headphone rule. (Both in=no talkie. Both out=good to go) as a trainer & (I assume) fit person, she should understand this request. Dont be a jerk…

You can't expect him to change just because you have. My husband also eats like *kitten*. He's not interested in changing. I have learned that just because he's eating *kitten* doesn't mean I have to. It's my choice what goes in my mouth. I can choose to grab a healthier option or I can choose not to eat at all. I only ask…

I just spent a month moving across the US (huge roadtrip) visiting family & even attending a wedding (aka 5 day mini vacation) in New Orleans. I gained 2lbs. When you eat, focus of fruits, veggies & protien. If you eat out, order a dish that has protien as the main (chicken, steak, fish instead of pasta) with sides of…

I'm 29 & would like to lose abt 16 more lbs. I do agree that 20lbs in 2 months is unrealistic if you're anywhere close to your goal weight. I would be ecstatic if I lost my weight in 4 months. (1lb per week) but my history has shown that I have trouble sticking to that pace. Especially since im close to my healthy weight…

First of all, congratulations of your loss & amazing mental space! Kudos to you for setting a wonderful example for your children! My hubby is also a bit of an idiot when it comes to eating well/fitness. What works for him does NOT work for me & he can't seem to get past that. What I have done is patiently & nicely explain…

Target. Shoes are Nike, except Converse for lifting.

Yes, getting your head around healthy eating is hard for a LOT of people. My suggestion for exercise would be to try out lots of diffetent things & see what you enjoy. The best exercise is the one you enjoy & will be most likely to do over & over. Start small, whatever that means (low weights, not much time, easy pace,…

Haven't read any other replies, so I very well may be repeating what others have said. I'm also 5'6" and my goal weight is 140. (I used to be that size) With you at 144, you are probably looking pretty good for your height. Keep in mind that the smaller you get, the harder it is to keep losing. That said, you can…

Sounds like a fancy way to take your money. Calorie deficit & find movement you enjoy.

I'll be friends! I like weights & meat ;)
