  • Thank you for your response. I looked up how to calculate how much protein you need by your lean body mass and it said I needed my body fat percentage, which I don't have. I'm going to sound completely ignorant here, but I bought a set of those pinch things gym teachers used to use but it said on the paper if you're…
  • I have a few things for you, first a pulled pork recipe. I make this with a 3lb pork shoulder (sometimes called a pork butt) roast and I think it's better (and cheaper) than making it with a pork tenderloin. It makes about 10-12 decent sized sandwiches. You can adapt this by getting a smaller roast or cutting a bigger…
  • I've playin this league for almost 5 years now and it is a lot of fun. I love exercise that isn't just running or working out on a machine. I do a lot better when it's something outside the gym. I have noticed that in the 6 months I've had my HRM I'm more inspired to try to work out. I'm still figuring out my exercises,…
  • I was trying a different food diary for the last few months, not MFP, to see if I liked it better, and I don't. So today I decided to switch back to MFP. So I don't have anything recent to share. I do try to eat more vegetables and lean protein and less processed carbs/sugars. My goals I've been trying to be at are 40%…
  • I was searching the internet last night for a website that actually gave the info on how to get started and how many reps/sets, etc. This is the one I think I'm going to try to start with. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/berardi13.htm I liked it because it actually has a suggested rotation and the article talks about how…
  • I have the same issue with finding good, supportive sports bras (I'm big busted too). I recently bought one from Panache, I think that's how you spell the brand name. It has a feature to make it a racer back style, which I've always hated, but if I'm doing an intense workout, it really adds extra support. Here's a link to…
  • Thank you to everyone who responded. I'd love to just get my protein from regular foods, but I'm finding it hard to keep the fat or carbs low enough. I'm still trying to figure out a way that works for me without having to eat nothing but meat. The doctor recommended trying to hit 40-50% protein then evenly divide the rest…
  • Unfortunately, my gym doesn't offer classes. If I'm being honest with myself, I eat somewhere between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. I know 1200 is the lowest recommended for safe weight loss, so I don't get too upset with myself if I go over by a little. I know BMI isn't a great/completely accurate way of determining how…
  • Thank you so much for your fast reply. I was focusing on cardio and seeing ok results but I know I can do better. I guess I will read up on lifting and start working that into my routine. I do make sure to eat as many of the exercise calories back as I can. I definitely don't need my body to start storing any calories.
