Isn't that the purpose of a liquid diet? Plan for all your calories in alcoholic beverages? (It's a joke... don't flame me).

My 18 year old just had hers taken out early today and she is currently sipping a very thin smoothie made with fresh Strawberries, a Banana, Raspberry Sherbet and Milk. At the hospital during recovery they offered her pudding, a popsicle and juice. They said its important to eat or the prescription pain meds will make you…

Winter jackets, boots and some other cute cold weather clothes for my teens :-) I'd love the $ to take them shopping so they could pick out what they want...

I live and work down in the Conshohocken/Lafayette Hill area but would love to meet up with others!! Panera is always a great spot, since its perfect for any budget :-) Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting is good too, they have nice huge seating areas.

My home is not a relaxation place.... its what I need to get away from to relax :-) Being home means bathrooms to clean, laundry to do, pets to walk, and so on.... I guess I just want a vacation :-) With an focus on eating right and exercise :-) And someone to help keep me focused. I have no local friends and my husband is…

I just feel like it would be a two week total commitment to just focusing on myself. Two weeks of severely reduced calories, but someone cooking for me. Two weeks of lots of exercise that I can't fit in my normal schedule. It just feels like a health retreat would put my mind back in the right place to keep going. Many of…

Oh and I meant to say they had nutritional info on their foods, Its California law that restaurants have their calories posted or in menus. I remember Carnation Cafe having it posted, but can't say I remember anywhere else.

I love Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney... Its a very easy to walk to from either park, or take the Monorail from Tomorrowland. We found the food to be really good, the service friendly and the alcohol plenty. I have teenagers and a few times we let the kids hit the parks with friends, and sat there and…

I am going to Whole Foods tonight for dinner and to do a grocery store tour with a health coach who taught a recent cooking class I took. I can't wait to find out if our store has the computer! I love buying on-the-go foods for my lunches to take to work!

I signed up for 3 series of classes being offered by our local school districts adult school... They were VERY affordable I thought. First one starts on the 28th. http://hub.colonialsd.org/community/AES/Documents/12_Spring_Brochure.pdf

We went to all butter in our house to get ride of the chemicals and additives. Using a butter bell was a great discovery to help make it easier to use with toast and such. I have been on the search for a local dairy that makes butter. Even our local milk dairies sell mass produced butter in their stores.

Which book are you reading?

Too everyone that has contributed the information to this, thank you! All the info was helpful to me :-) I am new to my PCP (only having 2 visits over 6 months, after I moved cross country in the summer). My PCP won't refer me to an endo but my insurance changes from HMO to PPO on March 1 and I have been searching for one.…

Bumping this up so it gets some fresh views and fresh advice :-)

You are all making so much sense. I am a stressed out person, I can not lose at a regular rate. I want my cortisol levels checked. My primary practice doctor which I must use says I am fine and I don't need to see an endocrinologist. This thread and the other stress link mentioned is so enlightening!!!

Making the Cut by Jillian Michaels is all about those last 10-20 pounds... She says you have to do things differently from fatties like me that have 75 to lose... Maybe go browse it at the book store before you buy...
-
EXACTLY!!! This is why I wanted to go to an endocrinologist and get all that special testing that my normal doctor won't do!!! (I am hugely stressed. My husband travels a lot. I have two teens. I work full-time plus a lot of overtime. I barely get 5 hours of sleep a night).

Congrats on your own success BUT I am doing it right and it's NOT working so your post makes me feel like ****. But your a guy, too and that makes me feel a little less like ****.

I have been looking for one for two weeks. Its seems lots of people say "Yes I am a trainer" and "I charge $75/100/whatever an hour" but I haven't found one that has worked with a female that needed to lose such big numbers. Thats a huge amount of money for me and I want someone who has experience with my situation.

What is HIIT ? And no, I haven't had someone show me.

Just wash it down with a 100% Juice Capri Sun - ********Water, Corn Syrup High Fructose, Citric Acid, Pear(s) Juice From Concentrate, Pectin, Strawberry(ies) Juice from Concentrate, Flavoring Natural********* What is sometimes secretly hidden in those little foil packets is a serving of mold - the penicillin will prevent…

I have cut out ALL added sugars, even the ones with the sneaky names. But for fruit I allow myself to have what I want, as long as for every fruit serving a day, I have a vegetable serving. And that doesn't mean lettuce which has no nutritional value. Things like spaghetti squash, jicama, spinach, broccoli, etc. I believe…
