High Five!!! The run went well. I miscalculated my return route and ended up with 13.3 miles. I didn't want to circle the block to get that last mile + in so I called it good. It was starting to rain anyway. I didn't peter out like I had been but am struggling with muscle cramps. Had to stop and stretch a couple of times…

Okay, I'm just curious. Why did you embroider "gooble till you wooble" instead of "gobble til you wobble" Am I missing a local colloquism or something? I've just never heard it said that way. Cute towels. The "oh crap" moment I had yesterday... realizing at mile 10 of my 14 mile run that I had forgotten my fitbit. My…

I've always done half marathons, one a year (sometimes two).... but decided I had to do at least one full so that will happen in December. But I plan on doing ONLY one in my lifetime. lol. I plan on finishing and then going and showering, changing etc and getting a night's sleep and going back to see my son finish his 100…

The term homecoming is used because Homecoming is the first game played at a schools home stadium after coming back from their first away game at another school.

Rye totally ridiculous isn't it. And that "mum" probably set him back $100!

Half a million people filled the streets to welcome the astros home today with a parade. This was taken from the 31st floor of my husbands office building. It was a pretty amazing sight. The traffic afterwards was pretty amazing too but I think most people thought it was a good trade off.

THEY WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say downtown Houston is Crazy right now..... streets are filled with celebrations. I'm actually a Cubs fan (life long) and am glad the Cubs didn't make it this year and play against the Astros, would have been a tense house here. lol

November goals: 1. Watch the Astros win the World Series tonight 2. Log each day 3. Keep my macros at 70% fat, 25% protein and 5% carbs (or stay as close as possible) 4. Run 3 times a week for the first 3 weeks, one run being a long run of 15+ miles. Fourth week is easy runs/walks before race weekend. 5. Get a massage…

While I have not personally been in a health sharing ministry I have two family members that have been members for years of one. They love it and have never had a problem with getting bills paid. They have had some extensive bills too. Do be aware that sharing ministries can exclude pre-existing conditions. My sister's…

We don't partake in it either, no candy or costumes here and I don't apologize for it. I don't find it Grinch-like at all. It would be normal for a huge portion of our community actually. We have about 300 houses in our neighborhood and I'd guess less than 20 have their lights on and give out candy nowdays. The local…

Las Cruces is where I went to college (NMSU), met my husband, got married, and had my first child. Ah the memories....

Got my eyes checked and ordered new glasses this morning. The lense manufacturer is having a special to promote their new materials so I got two pair. I only had to pay for the frame of the second pair, the lenses were free, which is a pretty penny with the progressives, coating etc. And I have good vision insurance which…

ceemyheartrn: I do low carb/high fat. The more fat the happier I am. :) Rebecca: Welcome welcome Karen: I have suffered from eczema my entire life. To the point that I've had my skin bleeding at times. I have one daughter who has it even more severely than I do. There are a lot of things that trigger eczema outbreaks. And…

I don't struggle with the keto breath much but wow, my sweat stinks now! lol No advise on getting back into ketosis other than cut those carbs down and really stick with it. I went out of ketosis for a few weeks and got back in quickly by staying strictly 20g of carbs or lower. I now can go up in grams and stay in ketosis…

P.S. to my above post. Has anyone used an Identity Protection service? I know LifeLock but the two I'm considering are IdentityForce and ID Watchdog. Has anyone used either of them?

And the *joy* for today is spending HOURS on the phone on hold, writing emails, getting documentation and convincing the stupid government that NO WE DID NOT APPLY FOR A FEMA GRANT/LOAN. My husband's identity was stolen and someone is trying to get money from the government .... seems there are a lot of people in the same…

Busy day today. Rushing here and there but all ready to head out for a concert. Schubert's Winterreise. I'm sure it will be lovely. Painting the house tomorrow after my run. Thursday I take four grandchildren to the theater to see Balloonacy. It's always fun to take the kids. I stick with age 6 and up to make life easier…

I mix it with fresh herbs, mayonnaise (making my own and it's super yummy) and any odd thing I might have in the fridge that needs to be put to use. Yesterday it was a mini-bell pepper.... then I smother an avocado with it. Lacking an avocado I might use celery as my spoon. Or just use a fork and chow down. I'm going to…

I'm doing my first full marathon December 9th. I've stuck with half-marathons up to now. I really plan on this being my one and only full ..... lol I chose this one because it's flat and fast and has no time limit. Biggest danger is the alligators. The fun part is I will be running at the same location my son is…

A really slow day today but I got it done. Well almost all of it. I was going for 12 miles but ended up short with an aching calf muscle. Marcelyn forever training for that marathon that I'm beginning to question.....

Did 11 miles this morning. Then ate two cans of tuna with mayo and seasonings.... with no guilt what-so-ever. Most glorious tasting tuna..... lol I do better in the mornings. Each day starts with new vision and determination. Then afternoon rolls around and I tend to snack around 5 pm. Dinner usually doesn't happen until…

So I was on a road trip yesterday. Went to a bar-b-que place that does the meat without sauce on it, so you can get it just smoked.... they said they had beef ribs and I love them so I jumped on it. The guy said it would be about a pound and I'm thinking that's nothing for me... and went ahead with it. It was hilarious…

Back from Waco. I'll have to tell you I was disappointed in the Silos. Such a big deal made over them and well... I can find that stuff anywhere in Houston and a line two blocks long to get in the bakery? Sorry, no cupcake is worth that (and you can get one from the food truck in the back without a line). My brother and I…

Driving up to Waco in the morning. My brother called and is going to be there so I'm driving up to see him for a few hours. I don't get to see him very often so 3 hrs. is no problem. My daughter is going to go with me as she's always wanted to go to Magnolia Farms/the Silos. My 9 yr old granddaughter finished her dress…

Lenora: I live in the Houston area but the ants and taratulas were when I lived in New Mexico. We had a lot of tarantulas and scorpions. I was after my kids all the time to keep their clothes off the floor because the scorpions would hide in them. One morning my daughter, who was 5 at the time, got up and put on her jeans…

Wolf spiders can be scary because they can get so darned big! My daughter was playing with an old piece of pipe she found half buried in our yard and a huge spider dropped out of it onto her lap. She screamed of course. It wasn't a tarantula and went scurrying off. We determined it was a wolf spider. Scary but pretty…
