My calories were set to 1200 and I think that was supposed to be about 1lb a week. I ate most of my exercise calories back (did not use a HR monitor so was not confident in what MFP assigned). I lost about 35 lbs in about 7 months. Working on maintenance now and toning up what is left.

Love my wine and measure each and every ounce. I think wine is the main motivation for working out everyday! :drinker:

MFP was a godsend to me. I am at the end of my weightloss journey but plan to stay here as I continue to tone up and get in better shape. Feel free to add me if you don't mind somone moving into maintenance.

Thanks for the laugh (moo)!!

I mix up my cardio at the gym and do the rowing machine about once a week. It is a great workout for my arms and cardio as well. I do tend to find it a little boring.

I am also in Florida and it gets to be a real challenge to workout outside. I have found if I am going to be running or playing tennis that if I drink a lot of water with some gatorade power mixed in about an hour before exercising it allows me to go longer. I do not think it is wise to exercise to the point where you feel…

I am 45 and am in the process of shifting to maintenance as I have lost more than I ever thought possible. I am still on here everyday so please add me if you don't mind someone who is not trying to lose.

I am on here daily, I have reached my goal and am working on maintenance. MFP has been so wonderful to hold me accountible to myself. Feel free to add me if you don't mind someone who is maintaining rather than losing.

Thanks for sharing, I have been trying to increase my overall time and doing some sprints but will do more knowing that it may help shrink my tummy!

Not usuallly a happy person while running but ecstatic when I finish! Running may not be your thing but the important thing is to find what makes you feel good about yourself.
-
Very interesting, I had pretty much also given up coffee and was drinking tea in the mornings but in the last month I found myself drinking it almost daily and had picked up 2 pounds and belly fat seems worse. I am at maintenance but don't want to be putting on 2 lbs a month! I am also putting my coffee maker away and…

Me too!!

I get them regularly when I do long runs especially in the heat and think it is due to dehydration. No so much of a problem in the gym or when I walk.
-
Very impressive time, ran my 4th 10K this morning and am no where near your time. Congratulations!!
-
I ran one this morning and had some oatmeal 1 1/2 before. If if is going to be hot I would recommend drinking some weak gatorade also to help combat dehydration symptoms. I am in Florida so the heat may not be as much of a factor for you. Good luck!!

I also love my runkeeper app!

Yes, if you go under the food tab you will see the recipes option towards the right. Click on it and you will see add a new recipe. You can then save it to use in the future.

Great job, should be no problem to get a minute off of that. I think the hardest part is mental and once I finished my first it seemed so much easier after that. Good Luck!

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet baby boy. Please take the time to grieve and take care of yourself, I have lost 4 plus a twin to my second son. I now have three healthy (but loud!!) boys so know that all things are possible. Take care of yourself and the sweet little boy you have.

Cars that won't move over when there is nothing in the other lane and I am forced into a ditch!!

I love cardio also and wish I had started strength training sooner. I still do cardio but adding the weights has really helped me look better. I actually find my weight seems to take a drop the day after doing strength training which I did not expect. It is my understanding that the more muscles we have the more calories…

45 and have succesfully lost 35 pounds with MFP. Entering the maintenance zone but still have a lot of toning to do. Please feel free to add me.
-
Your calories that MFP set for you include a calorie deficit for you to be able to lose at a healthy rate. As you lose weight you will want to re-calculate the calories needed as it will go down. I would not eat a lot under what you have been given unless you really are not hungry. Good luck, this program really does work…

First without walking was 34 min last November. Fastest to date is 30:50 and 1:06 for a 10K.
-
kace406 I started out very similar to you and ran w/o walking my first 5K last November in 34 min. I would suggest you slow down and focus on the time you are able to run rather than the distance. I found that once I was able to run without stopping for 35-40 minutes it became so much easier to increase my time (and…

My first goal was to finish one without walking. From there I like to just try and finish faster than I did before. I am a slow runner (my fastest so far is 30:50 and would love to break 30) so a 9 minute mile is pretty impressive to me! I have now done 2 10K's at a faster pace than my first 5K and am pretty happy with…

135 minute tennis match. We lost :(
-
May not work for what you are doing but my pilates instructor had me put a foam roller under my neck to put it in the correct position for ab work without the strain on the neck.
-
Thanks for all the suggestions, I have been streching some but will increase that and add in the foam roller.

Looking over my last week usually between 50% and 75%. It is frustrating that as I have lost weight I have to workout longer to get the same calorie burn. I am now shifting into maintenance and increasing my strength training to tone up what is left.
