  • Lost 35 lbs and maintained it for 1 1/2 years. I have gained back 10 lbs of that over the last year due to sloppy and non-existent logging. Determined to get at least 5 of it back off and keep it away. Regular, honest logging is what works for me!
  • Recommitting myself to daily logging as well. Been on here 3+ years and lost 40 punds that I kept off for a year and 1/2. Added 10 lbs back over the last year and determined to get at least 5 of them back off. Regular logging is the only thing that works for me! Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • Maintaining and hormone fluctuations have been hard for me to manage this past year also. Lost 35 lbs and maintained that for 1 1/2 years but have gained 10 in the last year due to sloppy logging and my body having a mind of its own due to these crazy hormones. Need to get back to eating the way I am supposed to and…
  • Back at it myself, lost 35lbs and gained back 10 due to sloppy logging and not exercising like I did before. Ready to get rid of at least 5 of these extra lbs!!
  • Tallahassee!
  • I track mine as circuit training as we are not taking breaks between sets and just moving to a different exercise.
  • I am a small framed 5' 2" and in my profile picture I weighed 105 . I lost 35 lbs eating 1200 calories a day and most of my exercise calories. Maintained that weight for 15 months and am now back on 1200 to get off the 5 I picked up recently. Do a lot of cardio and not as much strength training as I should! Good luck!
  • I had my gallbladder out last November and had pretty severe IBS issues, mainly while running. Started back on probiotics and have seen a great improvement. Did a little research and the constant bile drip into our intestines can kill off the good bacteria. Good luck finding what works for you.
  • Thanks for the advice and inspiration, despite a not so stellar run this morning I am excited to tackle this challenge.
  • Crock pot works well to keep venison moist. This weekend we made shredded BBQ venison by cooking roast overnight on low totally covered in liquid ( we used onions, beef stock, Lipton onion soup mix and water). Made an awesome stew out of diced tenderloin and lots of root veggies yesterday.
  • That is a good question! I signed up for the second one with some friends that have never run one before and decided to do the other one because it is here in town and I hate to spend all that extra training time and only get one race out of it. I run pretty slow, 2:10 - 2:15 for a 1/2, so maybe I should try to push a…
  • Thanks for the reply. How did your legs feel that first week back and on the 8 miler. I ran a 5K 6 days after my first 1/2 and was still sore.
  • Feel free to add me. I am a runner and plan on doing my second 1/2 in the fall. I am not currently trying to lose but do try to log daily to maintain.
  • I used runkeeper in the past with no spam problems. Stopped using it when I got a Garmin watch which is much easier to carry than my phone. Good luck.
  • Eat and enjoy the exercise calories. I lost all of my weight by eating 1200 plus most of my exercise calories. Many days my main motivation for exercise is to be able to enjoy a glass of wine at night!
  • I agree with Roadstergirli and start adding 100 calories a week until you stop losing and are maintaining. I have done this and maintained my weight for 1 year. I still eat most of my exercise calories back and if I find I am up a couple of pounds for several days I drop my calories back down until it is gone again.
  • My Garmin watch has a feature where you put in your desired pace and it will coach you on when you need to speed up or slow down. Not sure about apps. Have used run keeper in the past and you could set it to give you audio clues as to your current pace and overall pace but don't think it has the feature you are looking…
  • Was a die hard runkeeper fan until I changed to a large Galexy Note phone that is just too big to run with. Husband got me a Garmin Forerunner for Valentines day and I must say I love it. Does not have all the bells and fancy features that more expensive models have but I like the smaller size of the watch itself as I have…
  • I basically kept my weekly mileage about the same as the plan. Did the 10 miles @ beginning of week 9 (had done a 15K, 9.3, 9 days before) and did not feel like I was ready to go another 3. Was fueling every 30 - 40 minutes on long runs. Did 12.2 2 1/2 weeks before my race and had so much more confidence.
  • I recently used a 12 week program from Runners World Magazine. It was based on 4 runs a week. Max mileage it called for was 10 but I did not feel confident after doing that so I increased my longest run to a slow 12 miles. Did my first 1/2 two weeks ago and felt it went pretty well despite cold temperatures. Good luck.
  • Running my first 1/2 this Sunday. My training plan called for a max of 10 miles. After I ran the 10 I was not confident in my ability to go another 3 so I did another slow training run with friends for 12 miles and now feel so much better about finishing strong and probably faster than my orignal goal. Good luck!
  • I started at 140 with an original goal of 120. Met that after about 3 1/2 months and have now been maintaining 105 for about 8 months. I ate 1200 calories plus about 1/2 the exercise calories MFP calculated as I do not have a HRM. I weighed and measured religiously, drank at least 10 glasses of water a day and did some…
  • 5' 2 3/4" Starting weight was 140 and have been maintaining at 105 for about 8 months. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be running my first 1/2 marathon on Feb 17th. Never could have gotten where I am without MFP and the accountability that it has given me.
  • Tennis 2-3 times a week.
  • Plan on running my first Feb 18th. Did 10.2 miles yesterday without walking but still very nervous about being able to do 13.1. Hope to increase my mileage a little more on my remaining long runs before race day. Add me if you would like.
  • I had my out two months ago, 11/19, and feel soooo much better. I did not have stones so it took longer to get diagnosed. Woke up the morning after surgery to no nausa for the first time in months. Initial recovery took a little longer than I would have liked but I think I had unrealistic expectations of being back running…
  • Ran my first 15K race yesterday!!
  • I am also 5'2" and have been maintaining 105 for around 8 months. I still log everything and have found around 1400 calories is what works for me plus I eat back most of my exercise calories which probably average around 300 a day. Congratulations and good luck with maintenance!
  • I agree with the extra energy. I had mine ut November 19th and had been suffering for about three months prior. I now realize I was probably being plagued with issues for a lot longer and am now not nearly as tired. Working hard on getting my running fitness back and hope to run a 1/2 marathon February 17th. A weird but…
