Does anyone have a method for determining calories burned for the WATP workouts? I have a lot of DVDS with different workouts and differing intensities, but I have no idea how to put them into the cardio calculator. With the University closed for Winter Break, I will be using WATP over the holidays for the first time since…

I set my goal to the 1200 calories; 60-08 g carbs my nutritionist recommended. An hour of aerobics every day increases the calories available to 17-1800 or so. I don't eat all of my exercise calories.

I cook on the weekends and sometimes for a couple weeks at a time. I couldn't live without my plastic storage tubs, however, I also keep microwave safe dishes at work because I don't like to heat foods even in "microwave safe" storage containers. Blueberries straight into plastic bags work amazingly well -- other fruits…

I don't buy workout equipment for home anymore. It takes up a huge amount of space and I don't have much. In my home it turns into: furniture, clothes rack, dust collector. I work out at the gym most weekdays; I have DVDs at home.

On the advice of my nutritionist I work to keep my carbs between 60-80 per day. You may friend me if you wish.

SWEET! You are an inspiration. You are in onederland! Congratulations.

I was logging shopping (ask me) and cleaning points this weekend for activity. Did a half session on the stationary bike this am; skipped the elliptical to favor a knee.

Liz, Have you consulted a dietitian or nutritionist. Sometimes we have food intolerances and create all sorts of body havoc. I had GI issues for YEARS and years (25-30). I saw a nutirtionist who did some tests, gave me a plan, plan worked in 1 week - amazing. The longer I stayed with the plan the better I felt. I no longer…

I'm in the DC area now, but I lived most of my adult life in Wisconsin. Friend me if you wish.

It does have a lot to do with eating unprocessed foods. It also incorporates buying locally grown veggies, meats, eggs, milk and milk products particularly those produced without harsh chemistry, hormones, mega-dosing of antibiotics and a lot of things conventional (that is since the 1950s or so) industrial farming…

When I worked out in the evening after work, the aerobics instructor suggested waiting 1 hour after class was over before eating. Since I had to be up very early in the morning, and since I don't sleep well after eating I worked out my own system. It took me about 30 minutes to get out of the facility and get home. By the…

If you put your recipies in to calculate the calories, carbs, etc., you can choose to share them with MFP members. I don't have lots (I'm quite creative and so improvise a lot) but the ones that I've made since starting MFP, I have put in. I don't think I've share them all.

I'm up at 4:15 EST (or EDT depending) to work out before work. I leave my house by 6:15 to get to the gym. I'm game.

Two semesters of grading freshman comp papers will convince (nearly) anyone that formal English is dying a slow and agonizing (to some readers) death.

Have you tried any of the 100 calorie packs of cookies? Some of them are quite tasty. The problem is eating one pack

First of all -- give yourself a break. You made a lot of changes in a short period of time; your in a new place and there are a lot of adjustments. You seem to have the support of your partner -- capitalize on that and be encouraged by it. You have the support of as many folks as you want from the MFP community -- use it.…

It must have been dropped or otherwise knocked out of balance at some point. Have it recalibrated -- if it's fairly new, email the problem to the manufacturer.

Look at your profile page and your motivations again. Then you were thinking of yourself and your family and especially of your handsom little boy. I don't know if it will help you, but it does help me. I think everyone goes through phases of sliding back into old habits. See if you can get your kids involved in being…

I've been eating very largely unprocessed food for nearly a year. I now shop at farmers' markets for meat, eggs and veggies (pastured and or pasture finished meats thus avoiding feed lot/factory farm contaminents, hormones, antibiotics and corn). I'm a big supporter of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) too; it's nice…

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ BIG hugs }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} My best suggestion is to take care of yourself so you can continue to be supportive and caring of and for your husband. Sometimes big issues of the past need the help of a professional - a clergyperson or counselor - to undo those knots. Blessings on you and your family.

Awesome - I'm hoping to write something very similar next year at this time :-)

True. But as for me, I can't eat bonless skinless chicken breasts every meal, every day.

Thank you to everyone! You are awesome.

Circuit hikes up in Shennandoah National Forest. Don't get up there much, but the trails are rated and generally well kept.

I live in Alexandria and work at AU in upper (way upper) NW. I drive 11 miles and one-way it's 45 minutes on a good day (it would take at least 1-1/2 hours by metro). I grew up here, but lived in the mid-west most of my adult life.

I have three rescue kitties. Shadow is a dilute tortie, now 11 (she was originally rescued from a group I volunteer for so I actually know her age); Ginger (Ginny) is an orange DSH who was quite overweight but is now close to goal, she is about 5-1/2 (best vet estimate she was an adult rescued from a kill shelter); Weasley…

I work at AU and have a membership at the fitness center (cheap). I started with a personal trainer and am now on my own. I come from NOVA so have to get up really early, but it's working.
