  • Hello Beautiful Brides of 2014! My name is Sarah, and my fiancee Matt and I got engaged on December 19, 2012. We are planning our wedding for September 6, 2014 - so the one year countdown is not far away ! eek! I would like to have a dress picked out by Christmas. 29 years old 5'7" CW: 206 GW: 175 I've lost the weight…
  • It's too bad when people get things tattooed that they regret or no longer like - then there is the issue of poor workmanship in a tattoo, making it bad - but I'd also agree that there are some technically really nice tattoos that I just really don't like. Example: I'd never get a lifelike animal portrait. BUT I've seen…
  • Haha - I got my newest ones as a treat for having gotten to goal weight... now to get back there.... lol.
  • I love my polar F6 - I had my best success when I was using it regularly, you'r right, as you get fitter, you burn less calories to do the same exercise over time, so it's important to calculate and account for that. EXCELLENT investment, and it will never be too big or too small (like 90% of my clothes ;))
  • At my thinnest, I'd lost almost 75 lbs. I don't have any kids and I still have lots of loose skin - it's hard to deal with for sure. You're so proud of how far you've come but still are upset by what's left behind. I've heard hydration is really important for skin texture, but I really don't think that my loose skin will…
  • Consider yourself fortunate! I seem to deflate from the top down, face, arms, CHEST :( Bum and legs are the first to puff up, last to slim down. :)
  • I'd suggest a little more fat (just based on today) - helps you feel full longer. Examples, nut butters like almond, and possibly a 2% yogurt instead of fat free. And, herbal tea or water till you're not hungry any more is a trick i use. :)
  • plain air popped popcorn, full of fiber :)
  • Moan away, but don't give up! :) Maybe you're on a plateau, retaining a little water, or just off today. We are all on long journeys here, and noone ever said it's easy the whole way. Keep on keeping on!
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Polar F6 - I bought it for myself for Valentines Day as well! It's amazing, and it's been instrumental in being accurate for me. I bought mine at Mountain Equipment Co-op, www.mec.ca and felt it was worth every penny. Good luck! Sarah
  • try fruit or dessert flavoured herbal tea with a bit of milk, plain popcorn, or lots of ice water. A poor subsitute for junk I know, but anything to occupy your mouth without the calories and of chips, chocolate, etc will help. Are you getting enough healthy fat in the day time? You might be craving garbage at night…
  • I feel as though it's not possible. Mine really suffered as well, and my trainer says the only thing you can do is try and build muscle underneath. Sorry! It's terrible, I know.
  • I suggest bread! I love bread, and for a long time I didn't buy bread because I was not in a good place with bread... like I'd over do it a bit. A piece of bread is full of carbs, and if you eat whole wheat you've got fiber and whatnot as well. toast with peanut butter is a favorite after workout snack of mine - calorie…
  • LOVE this book, and the first one. I really enjoy the "scoopable salads" and the breakfast recipes.
  • Hi There - I'd like to try Body Pump, although the lineups at my club for this class have been insane and I've not been able to get a spot thus far. I have a heartrate monitor and could report back how many calories it burned for me, however it could be different for you. A heartrate monitor is the best way to figure out…
  • depends on how thick... but deck of cards is a good estimate if it's about as thick as that... however if it's thicker, I feel like 3oz is about three BIG bites! I've found it helps to chop it up small so it looks like more! :)
  • I really like the Kaizen Chocolate or the U Weight Loss Vanilla.... although I think you have to know someone who is a client of U Weight Loss to get access to theirs... it blends up like a dream, and tastes good even in water.
  • Hi Nikki - yes this is true, most people don't perform well or aren't able to lose weight without a basic amount of calories. It's not a silly question though - its a real issue! Check out some of the threads on here, search for "starvation mode" "plateau" "too few calories" - that kind of thing, and you'll read about what…
  • How many calories you burn depends on alot of things... namely your weight and what your heartrate is throughout the workout. There are calculators on the internet for those types of things, so without knowing how much you weigh or what your heartrate is, it's hard to say. A heart rate monitor is a great thing for this…
  • I third the 30 day shred suggestion... you'll TOTALLY feel it the next day, and you'll notice a difference!
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!! I remember how it felt to do the same thing, and the congratulations on here were incredibly supportive. You've come so far, that's a GREAT acheievement!
  • That is awesome! Measured with my trainer today, and she says 17 inches off allover since January '09. 6 of those on my waist! WOOHOO!
  • Congrats! Soon you will be under 200 and you will keep dropping - drink your water and eat your veggies - you'll be amazed!
  • This isn't just since December 2008 - tha's when I jopined MFP, but about 15 lbs of it is since then. This would be since I realized I had a problem and was doing somehting about it, so since August 2008. Good luck to all of you!!!
  • congratulations to you! I hope you celebrated!
  • It's sooo good! You are both very close. I have been 200+ for more than 7 years, and I cried when my trainer weighed me last night. It's so liberating - I will cheer for you and encourage you to let me know when you get there - best of luck!!!
  • Hi All: I doubt this will really make a difference to anyone, as I don't know any of you personally, but I just want to shout from the rooftops that I NOW WEIGH 199lbs! For all of you who have already passed this mark, congratulations. For all of you who are trying to get there, good luck to you, you'll be there soon,…
