  • I want to put a plug in here for interval training too... run, walk fast, run, walk fast... awesome work out and burns tons of calories. Running is all cardio though, so you will probably want to add some strength training in 2 - 3 times a week. And of course.. you can run a million miles but if your eating habits are…
  • Honest question here... I just posted about my own frustration. I have been stuck where I am for a long time. This week I decided to amp up the exercise to burn LOTS of calories. I burned almost 4200 calories SINCE Monday. I only lost two tenths of a percent of a pound. My calories were under my daily goal for the most…
  • Oh my so many great suggestions! Thank you so much. A lot of light has been shed on what could be going on here. I REALLY appreciate everyone's imput! I will make some adjustments for sure. Thanks again everyone! You have given me hope! :)
  • I'll definitely pay more attention to that! Thanks for pointing that out! Those Healthy Choice meals may be my downfall. They are quick, easy, and low calorie. I need to find a better solution, eh?
  • I have wondered about that, but how much do I eat? I eat when I am hungry. I certainly won't starve myself! LOL. I don't want to eat ALL those exercise calories back, do I? Did you see some of those totals???? *faint* I did kick up the exercising a notch this week to see if I could get things moving again. Perhaps I need…
  • I have heard about eating back your exercise calories, but I've had terrible results with that! And frankly, eating up to 3,000 calories (daily plus exercise total) on some days... Ummmm... I am extremely hesitant about that. BTW... my diary is public, so feel free to check it out.
  • I try to eat as "clean" as I can. What is your definition of clean anyway? LOL... My intensity is full on, take no prisoners style. I go to work, not to play. I do wear a HRM so the calories I'm burning are pretty accurate, as far as I know. I'm not sure I fully understand what you are trying to say with the 80/20…
  • I listen to books while working out, or music that gets me going. It is hard to keep motivated alone, but it can be done!
  • One of my fave soups, which I have been avoiding because of the calories in the cheese. Thanks for the recipe!
  • Okay, I washed it properly and then it seemed to work fine. I didn't realize about the "high tech" interference either. Thanks for all the input ya'll! ~Lisa
  • Ummm... ooops. Nope.... just give it a wipe down. I'll try washing it now. <blush>
  • I have one but never saw that problem. Maybe you could call their customer service? My count seems to be reasonably accurate. <shrug>
  • Here is one from TBL: http://www.nbc.com/the-biggest-loser/exclusives/nutrition/contestant-recipes/mango-quinoa-salad/ I made this recently and really enjoyed it! HTH.

  • I just posted about this very thing last week here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/238833-the-scale-won-t-budge I got some great tips. HTH!
  • Ladyhawk... great list of exercises! They look very similiar to the ones in the JM cardio workouts and circuit DVD that I have. She doesn't use anything but "what God gave you" in the one I have. I haven't done that one in a while, so maybe I will do it again tonight. There is all manner of squats, planks, pushups, as well…
  • Thanks for all the great tips! I'll be looking over the links provided. I forgot to mention I DO have a hrm and use it religiously. LOL What kind of strength training? I have 3lb weights, if that helps. Just some reps for my arms? I also have those velcro weights you put on your wrists/ankles while walking. I could try…
  • Thanks for the link!

  • I would try and get 1200 to 1400 calories a day, since you are working out. Your body can go into "starvation" mode, and will actually hinder your weightloss. Your body is designed to burn a lot of calories a day. It is healthy, whether you are attempting to lose weight or not. You just have to make sure the fuel is there…
  • I've had 8 babies... 5 boys 3 girls (the two older girls are twins), ages 15 down to 2.5. Whew! I made a resolution to take better care of myself as well, just so I can keep up! LOL
  • So, what happens when you stall out? How do you jump start your metabolism again? (Sorry if this is a thread hijacking. I think this may have happened to me, and have been battling it for several weeks. )
  • Oh yeah... you are probably building some serious muscle in your legs and back end, which are major muscle groups. Also, I totally agree that 1300 calories for the amount you are running isn't enough. Your body may be going into "starvation" mode, and clinging to every ounce instead of letting it get burned up. Also, with…
  • Yup... mine was doing that the other day. I tightened the band a bit, and that seemed to help.
  • I would advise DRINKING tea, not taking pills. Herbal pills are so processed that a lot of the goodness that comes from the herb is lost. Also, by drinking the tea you are getting more fluids, which flushes your system more, and helps with the weight loss. Just my .02. Good luck on your "new" start! You can do it!
  • natural peanut butter on apples! Yummy! Grapes Almonds Blueberries... dried or fresh cheese... just be careful of the calories! hard boiled egg
  • I know what you mean. I was just saying to my dh the other day I have to do better on the weekends! Ugh! Here is what I suggest: 1. Scrap the eating out for a while. If you are looking for something special, why not buy something you don't usually purchase for a meal... keeping "healthy" in mind? Exotic fruit for a…
  • You are not alone! Just remember... those nursing times won't be around forever. Just work on getting into healthy habbits NOW, and when he does wean, you'll already have half the battle won. Enjoy your bonding time. You have lots of time to whittle off the 15 lbs after those precious moments are over.
  • I got the FT7 and LOVE it! Thanks for all the imput ya'll!
  • WEll now, that explains it! LOL... looks like I'll be returning it for another model. Thanks to everyone for your imput! My husband and I and the kids are going out shopping later so I'll exchange it then. BTW... shopping with Dh, and 7 kids in tow burns tons of calories! :P
  • Hmmm... all it says when I hit it again is "STOP". Here is what my readout says.... I push the button and it says "EXE" and it takes my heartrate. If I hit the button again it just stops and gives me my readout. I have a FT2, btw... maybe I need to upgrade to the FT4?
  • thanksfor the imput! I am hoping to get a hrm soon. I should have added that I usually do a good cardio workout. I was just looking for something to break up the monotony, KWIM? The strength training for my mid section is much needed... after 8 kids muscles are totally out of shape! It sounds like the Pilates is good for…
