  • Just got through the first 30DS session. Phew am I unfit!! But I know from last time I did it that after a week of Level 1 it'll seem much easier : ) I know that looking foxy in a bikini this summer is totally worth the hard work : ) Good luck with your dissertation! You'll get through it : ) Cutting out the calorie dense…
  • The actual product in this case does not contain milk/eggs/etc. It just means that the factory uses these ingredients in other products. It's just a way to save the company's *kitten* if someone who has a serious allergy suffers a reaction after eating the product. It's fine for vegans : )
  • Man I would LOVE a squirrel to come hang out in my room haha. Too cute. x
  • I second the Linda McCartney sauages! Yum. Very nice in a roll with french's mustard x
  • Show him this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=FLqjLn0W5K0 (It's about vegans, but applies here too I think.) I find a lot of people are very quick to critisize veggie/vegan lifestyles because it makes them feel defensive - as though we are saying to them "I disagree with your eating habits". Even if…
  • Haha. I find it strange how people seem to think that all food is animal produce, if their incredulity when you tell them you're vegan is anything to go by! So many times they're like "Seriously, what do you eat?!" like they never realised fruit/pasta/vegetables/rice/etc was vegan... That's why I love this song haha. I…
  • Yes, 250ml of orange juice has approximately 110cals in it (depending on brand I guess it might differ) as well as 25g of carbs (pretty much all of which is sugar). So yes, you should add it. xx
  • Definitely, DEFINITELY, juice 2 golden delicious apples with 1/3 unwaxed lemon (with the rind still on). It tastes exactly like sherbert lemonade. xxx
  • I'm vegan! Have been for a few years now, and never looking back! I would suggest using meat replacers until you get used to the vegan lifestyle and then try to cut back on them and increase your pure plant intake. Fruits and veggies contain amino acids, which is what your body has to work hard to turn protein into, so…
  • Level 1 Day 9 completed. Will try and get Day 10 completed today as well (missed yesterday) xxx
  • That would be great for book recommendations! Thank you! As long as you are eating some raw that's better than nothing right! And you can always work towards more : )
  • Ah wow 5lb lost and a new baby!! Congrats! I am not 100% raw, but I'm trying to get as close to it as possible. I have a feeling it will be like when I first went vegan and there were some things I ate and THEN realised weren't vegan. But then I knew to cut them out after that. It just takes time to get used to I guess! xx
  • Yeah according to mfp but I am not too worried about that, as raw fruits and veggies contain amino acids, which is what protein gets broken down into in your digestive system. So eating raw fruits and veggies kinda "cuts out the middle man" and just gets amino acids straight into you, rather than your body having to exert…
  • Today I had 2 bananas for breakfast, a Nakd coco orange bar (they are a raw snack brand), a couple of handfuls of red grapes, a bowl full of strawberries and for lunch and dinner I had the same thing (cos I made so damn much of it haha, luckily it was AMAZING) which was courgette made into "pasta" by using a vegetable…
  • Personally, I cannot do push ups, AT ALL. Not on my feet, not on my knees, nothing. Never have been able to either. I do a very strange modification that works me out but is definitely not a push up. If I stayed on Level 1 til I could do the "proper" push up, I'd never move on! However, the rest of the work out is getting…
  • So I never actually got round to doing the shred last night as the TV got taken over by my family who wanted to watch X Factor and Downton Abbey, and then by the time that was finished my little sister went to bed and I was told I couldn't do it as my "leaping around" (read: jumping jacks) would keep her awake. So I have…
  • Pain went away by Day 4, mainly because I did my own stretches at the end and completely ignored hers! They do not stretch your muscles out enough. Now I have no pain at all from it (I'm on Day 7). Keep it up!! xxxx
  • It's so good right!! I might try adding orange, sounds yummy : ) I'm going raw for next week (maybe longer if it goes well) and I will be having this a lot I think for breakfasts. Yum yum.
  • Omg this. I mute her and play music cos I can't bear listening to the same thing over and over haha. Also, the stretches at the end are rubbish and when I was doing them I was SO SORE the next day. Now I do the stretches I got taught when I did sports at school and I feel fine. Going to do my 7th Day of Level 1 once my…
  • I don't like avocados but I LOVE the smoothie I posted above. You can't taste the avocado it just makes the smoothie super creamy. Honestly, try it!! It is so good for you. It's from Jason Vale's Keeping It Simple. The info in the book says: Contains essential fats, amino acids, fibre, vitamins A, B, B6, C and E,…
  • Ok, so somehow I seem to have lost the ability to count (as a primary school teacher that is a little worrying haha). I said that I had only done 4 days on this so far, but I've done every day since Monday. So, unless I'm working this out wrong (and feel free to correct me!) I have just done my 6th day on Level 1. So…
  • I did some measuring today because I got a new bra fitted like a week ago and today it was really loose and I was like, err what's going on!? So I got out the tape measure and it turns out I've lost a total of 9.25" from all over!! Including 1.5" from my chest (explains the loose bra) and 2.5" from my waist! And it's only…

  • Just posted this in another thread but it fits here too!! Try this avocado yumminess: 1/4 small pineapple 2 golden delicious apples 1/2 ripe avocado (de-stoned and peeled) 1 medium banana (peeled) Juice the pineapples and the apples. Put the avocado, banana and juice in a blender and whizz up 'til smooth. Enjoy!! (From…

  • I put on 1lb this week but I thought I might because I've been doing the 30DS with heavy weights and my muscles are KILLING me so I figure I've got some water retention going on, because I've been exercising daily and been under my calories every day. Hope everyone has had a good week : ) xxxxxxxx
  • Good books: The Kind Life, Skinny *****. If you google "vegan recipes" you will find an absolute MOUNTAIN of stuff. I went veggie before I went vegan and that worked for me, but I have never gone omni to vegan so maybe that's easy too?! One major tip - check the ingredients of EVERYTHING. You will be amazed how much stuff…
