I had someone ask me this...I said I was watching what I ate and working out close to 2 hours, 5 days a week, combo of cardio and strength training. She replied "Oh. That's it?". I was speechless.

Hi, I'm 5'10" and currently weigh 146lbs, goal is 145....started at 185 over two years ago. Basically a size 4 or 6 depending on store/style :)

I'm 5'10" and my goal weight is just about where I'm at now, 145 lbs. I started at 185 and over two years have gradually changed my eating and workout habits and the weight came off slowly but surely and is staying off :) I owe it ALL to zumba and strength training usually 5 days a week, and eating in moderation. No fads…

I just did this last week! I've kept a pair of shorts that I haven't been able to fit into for over 10 years...every so often throughout the years I'd try them on, most of the time I couldn't even begin to zipper them, but they motivated me. Last summer I could zip and button them, but they didn't fit 100% so I never wore…

Awesome! Just got into my "old shorts" as well this week. Haven't worn them in years because they became too snug, then I couldn't even begin to zipper them because they were so tight, but after 2 years and 40 lbs lost not only do the fit now, they are borderline too big :) :) :)

I am 5'10" and just this week hit 146 lbs, down from 185 (GW 145). Its taken 2 years of slow and steady hard work, but I've formed lasting habits and am not finding it difficult at all now to live my new healthier lifestyle, its like second nature now making food choices and working out :) I pretty much wear any size 6…

You should go for it! So what if you start out slow...we all had to start somewhere! I am always so impressed when I see overweight people running or jogging because I am not a runner at all, wish I could be...I can workout for two hours strait high intensity cardio, but do not like to run, so more power to you!!

I too am on board with those who have makeup on because I work out after work, and I love wearing my yoga capris and tank top not only because I've worked hard to look as good as I possibly can, (gotta be truthful, it feels good to look your best, and it feels frumpy to look frumpy) but mostly because it is the most…

I pull out a pair of "too big" jeans/shorts from before my weight loss and put them on. The reminder of how much weight I've lost and far I've come rejuvenates my state of mind and says to me that "it took a long time to make these fall off, they won't be too tight just because I've had one bad day"....keep at it...and I…

Totally agree with OP...I've lost 40 lbs, gone from 185 to 145, slowly but surely and while forming good sustainable habits, by working out 4 to 5 days a week (strength & cardio) and learning to eat in moderation. For me, watching portion sizes has been the key, not elimination/restricting foods. I pretty much eat what I…

I am 5'10" and my CW is 149, goal is 140-145. My SW was 185, it has taken 2+ years of very slow progress, but I'm down over 35 lbs and lots of inches :) I tend to wear a US size 6, but I do have some jeans and dresses in size 4.

Another vote for zumba...the studio I go to is amazing. Its like dancing with a bunch of friends at a nightclub, its so fun. Everyone hollering and laughing the whole time. You don't even realize your working out, suddenly you are sweating like crazy and next thing you know, an hour is over and its time to go home. Love,…

I have sooooo much fun at my group fitness classes, that I don't need extra motivation to go...and I'm so thankful :) I look forward to going every single night, have met some great people, we share lots of laughts while we zumba and strength train etc etc. It totally works for me and I haven't missed a beat in almost 2…

Skinny cow mint truffle ice cream bar (or chocolate, or caramel...) only 100 cals and SOOOOOOO yummy and creamy :) Feels like a guilty pleasure treat rather than a low cal dessert

5'10" , CW = 149, GW = 140 (SW = 185)

Keep in mind that a lot of people in class were probably bigger at one point, too. Use it as motivation. You should feel great that you are there and don't let the reflection in the mirror discourage you, but encourage you. After all, isn't getting healthier, more fit and losing weight the reason you are there? Like…

I'm 5'10" and currently at 149 lbs...I have a small frame and feel I could lose another 5 to 10 lbs before starting to look too thin. Lowest weight was 135 back at age 18 and I was called skinny back then...not looking to get back to that, just look in shape, which I believe I'm achieving right now with my combination of…

P.S. You won't spot reduce inner thigh flab, but you will work the adductor muscle :)

Lie on your back, knees bent, as if you were going to do crunches. Let your left knee fall out to the side then back up again, keep repeating up and down for a set of 12. Sounds easy, but the key is to also hold a hand-weight against the inside of the working thigh (I use 5 lbs) as you do this exercise and it provides…

My "a-ha" moment...when my friend said while walking together that our husbands were checking out some cute girls that walked by because "they were thinner than OUR fat a**es", that did it. I'm 5'10" and was 185 lbs when she said that. Now that I think about it, I'm down to 149 lbs and wear a size 4/6 jean (from a tight…

I'm so impressed at those who zumba at home....I zumba 5 days a week in group fitness, but could never achieve the intensity/calorie burn etc at home by myself the way I can at class with a trainer motivating me. Good job!!!
-
Never thought about it, but technically, I guess I do two a day workouts in group ex classes...T/Th/Sat I do back to back strength class and then zumba, and on M/W only zumba. This gives me 5 days of cardio, 2 rest days (Fri/Sun), and 3 days of strength, with a day in between the strength training for muscles to…

Zumba is awesome...so much fun and it doesn't matter at all if you can do it or not...nobody cares, nobody is watching, everyone is just having a great time and getting a great workout. Most important thing is you need to find a really good instructor, not because its difficult, but because they set the tone for the class…

5 days a week zumba class at fitness studio, plus 3 days a week strength training class (prior to zumba...). I'm all about the group atmosphere vs. home/dvd. Its soooo motivating to be with people, laughing, sweating, having a great time.
