2 a days

I'm contemplating starting to do 2 a day workouts, one in the morning before work and one after work. Don't know if this will get me the results that I'm trying to achieve or not. Any one have any thoughts on this??

I do 2 a days every day. Cardio in the morning and weights in the afternoon. As long as you get your essentials and rest, you should be fine.

I'm no fitness expert, but I'd say it depends on how many times a week you do this, the type of activity, and the intensity. Make sure not to overwork any particular muscle group, and go at the pace that is appropriate for you and your level. I personally doubled up on two workouts recently, but I also didn't do that two consecutive days in a row. Give yourself some time for recovery; overall health and fitness should be the goal, not using exercise as a "crash diet".0

I usually take a couple of rest days through the week, thinking I need to change my workouts up some0

I do two a days 2-3 times a week, but not everyday. I usually burn about 1200 calories the days I go twice. Your body does need rest so I suggest not going twice a day everyday and may be even taking once a week completely off.0

So many questions: What do you hope to accomplish? What is your physical activity now? What will your 2 a day's consist of?
Without all of those answers I would say take it easy and listen to your body. It may not be able to go full throttle at first but as you get used to the 2 a days then you can push yourself. Also, find a trainer to get the best out of your 2 a days. Training the same areas twice a day isn't good.... Good luck!0 -
Never thought about it, but technically, I guess I do two a day workouts in group ex classes...T/Th/Sat I do back to back strength class and then zumba, and on M/W only zumba. This gives me 5 days of cardio, 2 rest days (Fri/Sun), and 3 days of strength, with a day in between the strength training for muscles to rest/rebuild. The strength sessions are 45 min and zumba is 1 hr.0

Personally, I love two a days but haven't really gotten to do them since I had children. :ohwell: Of course, my two a days probably aren't at a professional level. I run and hit the weights in the am and then swim or do advanced yoga in the evenings.0
