I had sleeve surgery on 12/3/14, I am 48 yrs old and have lost 120 pounds so far. I am happy to answer any questions anyone has. For me it has been a great experience

I had a laproscopic colon resection and after any surgery they will want you to walk and move as soon as possible, so for me I was walking asap, it was slow at first but got better each day. I was not to lift anything heavy and ease into working out slowly, at about 8 weeks I could walk/run, do elliptical and use light…

Plain yogurt, I prefer greek and I add just a little real maple syrup or agave or purereed fresh fruit.

You have done a great job so far!! Here are some suggestions for toning your body without weights. Do bodyweight excercises, pushups, planks, squats, burpees. Also you can fill milk gallons with water or sand and use as weights. Last suggestion for lean arms, yoga! If you have cable they have lots of on demand excercise…

I totally agree motivation ebbs and flows, habits stick around and get you through those days you are having a tough time. I also look at food and escercise seperately, I need to move my body each day no matter what I eat period!! That has helped me stay on track food wise, when I move each day I tend to respect my body…

I had a colon resection last October, basically it was a wash weight loss wise for about a month. I was in the hospital for a week and on a liquid diet after surgery, but had swelling and fluid retention, then I had about 3-4 weeks post op where I had to really watch what I ate due to the restrictions I had on types of…

Another word Commitment, commit to a calorie and excercise goal you can live with and just commit for one month. I had the same problem of hot and cold until I just comitted to my healrh as a top prority. But start with something you can live with, for me it was 1600 cal a week and 3 hours of excercise a week. You can…

My perfect day is 3 meals and 3 snacks per day. I stick with about 30% Fat/40% Carbs and 40% Protien. Breakfast - I alternate between Egg on Toast, Cereal with Milk or Yogurt, coffee and 2% milk Snack - Usually berries or pomeranate seeds (I am on a high fiber diet so I eat a lot of berries and fruits and veggies) Lunch -…

I totally agree with this. Unlike past times when I tried to lose weight, this time I wake up each day and try to make it the healthiest day I can, most importantly though is that I am engaged each day with what I am eating and how active I have been. Some days are better than others but I am much more aware and I know…

My dermatologist put me on spironolactone, it is a low level blood pressure drug, but it also helps about 50% of women with hormonal acne. I also use retin A about three times a week. It has helped me trmendously. NO more cystic acne and a few flare ups of a pimple every two to three months.

This is absolutely correct, eating healthy foods is a big part. My BFF is superfit but when she doesn't eat right she says she always gets a little stomach pooch. When she wants to get rid of it she has to really clean up her diet.

I had colon surgery Sept 4, 2012, after the surgery I was weak, tired and scared, scared straight! Oct 9 2012 I started with my personal trainer 3/x week for an hour each session, it was slow going at first but almost 4 months later I can kick some serious a**. I still have a long way to go but now I know I can do things I…

I have been doing this almost 4 months and down 40 pounds. This is one of the greatest and most difficult things I have ever done but I do know now that I can do this. I have lost and gained weight for over 20 years and finally this has clicked. I have learned the following: 1. That each day is a new start to health and…

Best advice I can give is stop letting the scale dictate how you feel. I weigh once a month so I can focus on my health, food and excercise.

I think what the others have said is great advice. No foods are off limit but saying that I try to focus on whole grains, veggies, fruits, lean protiens. When I started I really focused on staying in my calroie goals each day, getting some excercise and making as healthy food choices as I could. When I started I also would…

I think that when you get close to your goals that some people do have a hard time and can be unsupportive since they are facing thier own issues maybe?? Try to remember that eating healthy is something we should be doing everyday whether we are heavy or not, period!! That is how I got people to get off my case about my…

Honestly I try to not to focus on hating my body at any size, I focus each day on what I can do to be healthy and strong. I think when we hate something about ourseleves we sabatoge the work we do here. I know that sounds a bit pollyanna or zen but it has taken me 46 years to finally realize I am more than just a number on…

Try to make this easier on yoursef, just take it day by day. We can do anything for one day. If I eat the wrong foods one day, I just move on and make the next day a great day. My losses have been slower than some but they are still coming and I fee so much better. Mostly I have had to work on my relationship with food and…

I think you need to really think about what you want to do here, write some weekly attainable goals and then just do it. No offense, but you have stated you kind of post and log here but you are afraid of failure? Fully engage in your goal and you won't fail.
-
Then don't diet, make a lifestyle change.
-
This is just a tad judgemental. Everyone has thier own journey and nobody eats 100% perfect all the time. I find in this journey it is best to just focus on your choices and not worry about others.
-
I think it is really brave to put this out on the boards and I am so glad today was a purge free day for you. I am addicted to food and the comfort it gives me. I started my journey on Oct 9 and I am grateful that I have had only one bingeing incident but I do know that I will probably always have to be very careful since…

Weigh in once a month or every two weeks. Focus on the positive lifestyle changes you are making. I only weigh in once a month, it has really helped me focus on fitness and nutrition. Also I am no longer seeking any success or failure weekly from my scale, your weight is only one factor.

I was in the hospital this year having surgery, when I feel that this is going too slowly, I remember how I felt that day, so scared and weak and I knew if I didn't change my lifestyle this would be my future. I am by no means perfect each day, but I am motivated each day to be healthy and strong.

Congrats on your previous weight loss, that is awesome. You have some challenges but they are all workable issues. As for food, the crockpot is a miracle machine. You can do a whole chicken, pork roast, and eat it hot one night, shred it for salads or tacos or waraps. HKeep fresh veggies on hand for snacks as well as easy…

Drop your fork. The harsh truth is that when we have been off a healthy eating plan we crave that bad food. A couple of days of sticking to healthy foods and like the other posters pointed out, mini meals with protien you will be fine. There is no magic pill that will help, just a shift in food choices.

I started at 317 and am now 280, I do a 30 minute walk then do 20 mins of intervals. To start 30 secs to 1 min fast walking or jogging, 2 minute recovery for the next 20 mins then a 5 minute cool down and then stretching. Start with walking and work your way up. I call this my pre-C25K, working on getting my cardio up and…

Gotta ask then, if you have seen 5 doctors, how could we help? Eat more food, 500-800 cals is not enough to fuel your body, and yes eat all the time 5 -6 mini meals a day, you will be suprised how much beter ou feel. Also ditch the scale for awhile. I also agree with some other posters, maybe an eating disorde doctor could…
