  • I would guess so! About 3 days in, I got a horrible cold and headache. It was awful! But, it only lasted a couple days and then I felt better. The worse the cold/flu, the more stuff you probably had built up in your body to get rid of. Ironically, it's your body's way of thanking you!
  • What a great idea about the frozen water bottle!!
  • I'm one of those people that weigh every day. I know it drives some people nuts, but I find it motivating. I like to see day to day progress and when I don't see progress, I know I have to be extra mindful of my water intake or my sodium or whatever. It would drive me nuts to only weigh once a week! But, I would limit it…
  • What a great example you have set for your class! I wish there were more role models like you for kids to look up to in their school systems. Thanks for posting the pics. We love the inspiration!
  • That's awesome! I love it. Right now, I too, am one photo shop away from a killer before/after!
  • If I had a dollar for every time I had to restart my lifestyle change, I wouldn't need to work and I could hire a chef and a personal trainer! My advice is similar to what has already been said, you need to find the reason you are failing. It isn't enough to just berate yourself for failing, you need to look inside…
  •   "Stop quitting and you wont have to worry about restarting" I would add the above comment to the simon reference too!
  • I'm a big believer in not drinking any diet sodas, but I think you need to make that decision according to what is best for you. I think that it is entirely possible that you are losing weight because you have cut back on diet soda, but I can't say that is the only reason. I have seen studies that both support and oppose…
  • I understand about resizing, I wouldn't want to do it either. What about wearing it on a chain around your neck? That way it still stays your dad's, but you can still have it with you without worrying about the band aids.
  • As a Y employee of 9 years, thanks for being a part of the Y family! I'm always so warmed to hear of people who are truly "connected" to their Y. We have tried for many years (as witnessed in our brand change last year) to not be thought of as a "swim and gym" place. We aren't, we are a community organization committed to…
  • Congrats! What a wonderful feeling you must have. BTW, the 3rd picture looks like it is taken in a early childhood classroom. Do you work in a children center?
  • ^^^^ What she said! I thought the exact same thing...what a perfect "Wicked" dress! I hope you enjoyed it (It is as awesome as they say, perhaps even better!) Congrats on pulling the dress out of the closet and living it up!
  • I stopped all my birth control 9 years ago and have never regretted it (and I haven't had a baby either!). I HATED the hormones. And yes, all of the side effects stopped after I stopped taking it. There was a time of adjustment, because I had been using bc for 6 years, so my body had to sort out what hormones were really…
  • I got a tattoo on the side of my stomach before I was done losing weight and I have not noticed any difference in it since. I have lost an additional 20 pounds since then and I am glad I got it when I did. Raf702 gave great advice, "Get inked when you're ready." Great luck and how exciting! A new tattoo!!
  • I'm not sure about what the recommendation should be, but I do know that Apple Jacks is FULL of sugar. You may want to try a more whole grain and healthy cereal and see how the sugars compare.
  • Chili's is the worst! My favorite meal there, the chicken crisper meal, is over 1800 calories!! When I found that out, I looked at their nutritional info to try to find something I could eat there, but everything is 1000 calories or more.
  • My mom had limited space for exercise and bought one of those as well. She liked it a lot! Have fun!
  • You won't regret splurging on the shoes. They make SO much difference when you are running. Keep up the great positive thinking! I've found on this journey the physical part is only half of it; changing my mindset took the other half of my effort. :)
  • I will proudly carry a SPARTAN banner! You're right, it's so much better than team red (AND better than being Trojans!)
  • Well at least your Monday got better! Unless you pee your pants, then your Monday would continue to suck.
  • And to make this doubly funny, there is a smurf ad banner at the top right now! haha
  • Awww, poor panicky smurf. When Xanax smurf is in rehab, he will have to slink around on the corner of the little mushroom houses and get his xanax from Sneaky smurf and his brother, Slummin' smurf.
  • I would think pilates would be better. Of course, Bikram would be best, too bad you don't have any around you that could work out for you! Bikram actually created that form of yoga to heal his body from an injury! But, if you can't do bikram then I would say pilates. Strengthening your core will for sure help your back.…
  • It makes you wonder how these things happen! Is it a case as in what happened in the old Reese's commercial "Hey, you put cottage cheese on my hot dog! Hey, you put hot dog on my cottage cheese!" or are these food combinations just handed down as family treasures that can only be passed from generation o…

  • Wow, compared to peanut butter on hot dogs, mine seems lame. I LOVE ketchup mixed with mayo for my fries and burgers. Yum. I've also been known to make a peanut butter and pickle sandwich, which is also yummy.
  • I would send her an email with just one sentence in it and one sentence only, "Did you ask her when she was notified about the meeting?" That way, it gets to the heart of the issue without getting you all riled up, which the emotion of would likely divert you away from the point you want to make. But, it would be enough to…
  • Tattoos are hot, just not on the neck or face. Tattoos are a personal thing though, get one if you want to get one, but not just to make yourself more attractive for other people. I have 6, and yes some people find me sexier because of them, but they all mean something important to me and I would have got them even if no…
  • Congratulations! It must feel wonderful! :)
