Yes, I have watched all the documentaries about food.. I am a food knowledge junkie!

From Kaiserpermente: The large amount of fat, sugar, and salt in processed foods changes your brain's chemistry to make you crave those foods. In fact, sugar and fat release the same chemicals in your brain involved in drug, alcohol, and gambling addiction. Hard to resist You might want to eat more fatty, sugary, and salty…

It sounds to me like she may be jealous. Maybe she wants you to lose the weight, but now you are spending all this time on something that she isn't a part of. If a big part of your relationship was eating out/food and now that it gone she might be feeling sad. Could you suggest going on a date that doesn't involve food?…

It really is something you have to do one day at a time. For me- I used this place and tracked everything for months. I ended up losing like 60 pounds before I hit a plateau and then realized that I need to be exercising. Once I started going to the gym (and believe me, I had to force myself at first) I started seeing…

You need to listen to this advice. Eating 1200 calories is NOT enough. Your body is probably going into starvation mode. I know for myself I lose way more if I eat more. I used the BMR calculator and put in my goal weight- this is the amount of calories I allow myself to eat and if I work out I eat almost 100% of my…

I can honestly say that I lose FASTER when I eat my exercise cals back. When you are building muscle you NEED to feed your body. and let me tell you what a Dr. once told me- he said that all women, regardless of size, only need 1200 cals a day, even if you exercise and burn an additional 1000.- of course I believed it and…

So my BMR I posted above... as far as diet- I really don't eat a lot of processed foods. I might have a week where I do every now and then, but we don't buy a lot of that stuff. Sometimes I pick stuff that would be similar to what I've homemade because I know the calorie content of what im eating, but that's about it. I…

I do. I have tried it both ways and I realized that the reason I plateaued was because I wasn't consuming enough calories for all the muscle I was gaining. I try to eat almost all of them. Must work because I have lost almost 90 pounds...

I have tried it both ways and as I get closer to my goal weight I find that I NEED to eat those calories. I don't always eat all of them, but I do eat most. I tried not eating them and my weight plateaued. I sat at that same weight for months and I couldn't figure out why... once I started eating them I started losing…

here's an apple spinach salad that I make all the time... you could just use the dressing recipe. 4 cups fresh baby spinach 1 medium green-skinned apple (such as Granny Smith), cored and sliced 1/4 cup thin wedges red onion 2 tablespoons snipped dried tart red cherries (I use craisins) 1/4 cup Thyme-Dijon Vinaigrette…

I give myself 1 day a week to eat what I want. I eat in moderation still, but I don't worry about counting calories. My day is Sunday; I call it fat Sunday lol. You need to reward yourself for all your hard work. Plus, once your body gets used to eating healthy you will stop craving all the fatty foods and foods high in…
