  • I'm only 5"3 and I thought about it long and hard and concluded that trying to stick to anything lower than 1,500 would mean miserable days ahead for me as food plays a huge part in my enjoyment in life. So I opted for the slow, steady 1lb a week weight loss plan incorporating more exercise than originally intended meaning…
  • The best thing about this site is that it makes you SO AWARE of every little thing you eat, every day. I used to be in charge of all the catering in my last office and pretty much 4 times a week there'd be left over croissants, filled baguettes, sandwiches and smoothies etc....and I would just munch on them whenever I was…
  • Bacon is fine, in moderation of course, if you trim off all of the fat.
  • It's coffee with some kind of milk, cream or creamer added to it. Not a black coffee, basically.
  • Does anybody know where to buy this in the UK?? I'm looking online but no such luck.
  • Gosh, I used to be obsessed with my collarbones when I was around 14 - 15 years old and try and make them look prominent at high school. Nowadays they are the least of my worries, anyway (and luckily!) my boyfriend HATES sticky-out knobbly clavicles, he thinks they make women look half dead. Overrated in my opinion…
  • eat what you want, but in moderation, then just exercise more to make up for it. it's not like you eat this every day is it? if i was to order a burger, chances are, i'll share a portion of fries with someone instead of having a whole portion, and i will only have one half of the bread and order extra salad. skip dessert…
  • Can I please make a suggestion to any mocha lovers out there? Buy a low fat/low calorie chocolate drink sachet....pour into a mug.....make a paste by adding a shot or two of skim milk......then pour in hot black coffee (or a teaspoon of instant coffee + boiling water) and stir.....it's gorgeous. I have one a day and it…

  • A banana a day is good for you!
  • that's amazing too :)
  • Plus a small amount of butter on a large amount of vegetables helps to make them taste so good that you'll eat a big helping, thus reducing your carb or meat intake - all in all a win win situation. A tiny amout of butter wont make you fat anyway, if you get the balance right, you're going to be fine. Try some evenings…
  • Oh my GOODNESS this is one of the best threads ever. I thought I had loads of idea already, but you guys have given me tonnes more. I am more inspired than ever. Luckily I love vegetables already - never plain though and this proves there are so many ways to mix it up every night of the week. Brilliant stuff :drinker:
  • Also try mixing your cooked vegetables into an egg white omlette? The whites are fat free and super low calorie...with some reduced fat cheese melted in? Thats a whole meal and healthy too :)
  • Light philadelphia with garlic and herbs - it's so good with steamed leeks, spinach, fine beans etc. Garlic salt/Garlic pepper/Garlic granules. Garlic olive oil (can you tell i am a huge fan of garlic-izing my veggies?) Sauteed lean bacon or ham or some finely chopped chorizo, then mix the steamed veggies into the pan.…
  • here, here! very well said. i couldnt agree more. i hit a plateau after 5 months of diet and exercise, then i stopped for 2 weeks and lost a lot of weight during that time, whilst enjoying more indulgent food and drink and relaxing (was on holiday). now i am back on the regime and i'm sure i'll hit that plateau again soon…
  • Thanks for that girl! I am really going to enjoy this dish with a big refreshing side salad for dinner - oh, and BUMP
  • Thanks for the in depth explanation Steve Troutman - your input has been greatly valued and most educational.
  • Clearing out the phlegm in their throats by the drinking water cooler (shared little fountain) and spitting it right in there!! So disgusting and I cant drink that water at all now, I gag knowing how many guys do that. ***Guys, you might not want to read this next bit*** Recently, some girl went swimming with a very soiled…
  • Agreed
  • You're kidding me, right?
  • Red wine and savoury pies mmmmmmm
  • I am no nutritional expert (clearly!) and I seem to have confused myself now...
  • So...say you hit your target calorie goal of 1,500 for example, spot-on. But your sugar intake is DOUBLE your RDA......then will that then indirectly up the calories (ie would this sugar eventually turn into hidden calories)?
  • Have a look at this post, which asks pretty much the same question - I was wondering the same thing as you today as well  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/367835-fruit-fat
  • I should have just looked it up online to begin with :ohwell: http://www.naturalnews.com/002038.html
  • Just to set the record straight people: I like to think I eat a well balanced and healthy diet and I make sure my calories/fat grams dont go over my goal. 95% of the time. I dont deprive myself of any type of food. Within reason, if I want something, I will have it, I just know I'll need to balance the rest of my day out.…
  • Why not speak about a subject I know less about than people like yourself? This is a discussion board, after all. Is it not? Thanks for your valuable input.
