Logged a few bonus miles on Saturday, so my final June total is 67.75. You can put me down for another 60 for July. Thanks Cooriander!!!

I agree with the others in that it's unlikely your weight is the issue. Listen to the advice about getting shoes - go to a running store and get a gait analysis so you buy the right kind. It could also be a matter of not giving your body enough rest between runs. If you're not using a training program like Couch to 5k,…

See your Dr to be on the safe side. I sprained a knee once and had to do non-weight-bearing exercise for 6 weeks, but at that point was able to gradually work my way back into running. Especially since you've got pain in both, get them checked out. Eta: i just went to my GP.

I was going to ask about BF% too...depending on how far you are from your goal you'll have to accept that your body is going to change a great deal in unpredictable ways until you get there. If I'm not mistaken, you still have a ways to go so I don't think you can have a very accurate picture of whether you have too much…

Yes yes yes to proper form, no matter what exercise you're doing. My favorite reference for looking up technique is exrx.net. The Exercise Directory lets you look up exercises by muscle group & when you click the link there's a little gif showing someone actually doing it, which is far more helpful than a written…

Good luck with the marathon! Enjoy!!!

Girl_Bomb, I'm glad you were able to see some positives when typing up your reply. It's really easy to get wrapped up in the numbers...trust me, I'm a total Type A & I do statistics for a living. I've had times where I got so stressed about the "right" numbers that I forgot the most important thing: to enjoy my…

I've absolutely started to feel blah about running & exercise in general before. In my case that's an indication I'm due for a week-long break, which I cycle into my training every 10-12 weeks or so. Not sure how long it's been since you took one, so that's something to consider. Great job on the mileage!

I realize that most of us are trying to lose weight here, but is weight really everything? I mean, when I was over 300 lbs & couldn't see the difference between 316 & 300 yeah, the scale was pretty much the only way I knew I was making progress. But as I continued exercising & setting/smashing fitness goals, I had tons of…

Beautiful story, thanks for sharing!

Nice article. It was nice to read all that stuff & think, "glad I don't do that"

This thread makes me miss lifting. I still strength train, but it's mostly for endurance, balance & flexibility since I've made running a priority this year. I spent most of last year weight training though, & I kept track of my PRs because I thought they were pretty kickass. I was working to failure between 8-12 reps: -…

I read on another thread that different color vegetables are good for different systems in your body. It's sounds real smart so it must be true. If I eat all white stuff I'll be ok right? Cos I 'member from science class that white light is really a mixture of all the colors, & my science teacher was real smart too,…

Reviving this thread cuz I just posted about this very thing earlier today. My record was back in January: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/stubbysticks?date=2012-01-14 Lunch @ the Japanese buffet, dinner & copious amounts of liquor at the bar, then soul food takeout on the way home. 7,078 calories like a BOSS. I…

"Can I loose weight on a low crab diet"

Those foods won't stop you from losing weight if you're still in a calorie deficit. Of course, they're not the healthiest foods out there. But that's a different topic.

The bolded part is what stands out to me in your comment, the fact that you interpret not accepting friends as a refusal to help others, when it's most likely just a line they have drawn so they can continue providing good support to the friends they already have. I've got several people on my FL who are not accepting new…

You can't tell me you haven't had at least one day in your life where you ate a shytload of crappy food loaded with calories. You just weren't aware how many calories it really was because you weren't managing your intake at the time. It's easier to do than you think. If it were difficult, there wouldn't be so many people…

There's nothing wrong with eating 1200 calories a day if it's appropriate for your height, current weight & activity level. Unfortunately from what I've seen on sites like this, far too many people eat at that level & they shouldn't. It's usually people who are newer to weight loss. It's not their fault for not knowing you…

THAT IS AMAZING. Did they administer V8 intravenously at the hospital to bring you back?
-
I think it's weird to even suggest IF to someone who has trouble being consistent with any program for more than a week & a half. Really?
-
I would delete you if you ate jalapeno poppers & didn't share them with me. Seriously though, it's a tad extreme to be judgmental of what people eat. I guess I'd consider axing someone who ate like crap AND complained about feeling like crap & not losing weight AND I had tried to offer some constructive criticism said…

I understand how 6,000 calories can be shocking to some, but it really is easier than you'd think, & no you don't have to be a morbidly obese competitive eater to do it. I logged a 7k day back in January, didn't intend to go that high really but I had given myself a free day. I know you're curious, so here you go:…

Thanks! I knit.

Just because someone states guidelines for accepting friends doesn't mean they are judging them. I don't have such a disclaimer on my profile but I understand why people do it. Since you (the OP) are newer here, I'll explain. I've been frequenting weight loss sites for just over 2 years now. I've seen HUNDREDS of people…
