I feel the exact same way. I'd say 75% of the time I was snacking I wasn't really hungry, just bored or discontent with something else. This site has helped me really question whether what I'm about to eat is worth it. If I'm hungry then its fine to eat, but if its something else, I need to find something different to do…

I have a desk job and usually eat about 1000 1100 cals per day. I haven't needed all 1200 since I started. I have 50 lbs to lose so I don't think my body will go into "starvation mode" anytime soon. Good luck! :-)

I'm trying to lose weight before my FIRST baby! We are trying hard to get pregnant and it has taken a lot longer than expected. I'm hoping if I can drop 20-30 my body will be more healthy and will more easily concieve.....

The biggest thing to remind myself is that I'm going to enjoy life, but just make better choices whenever I can. If its someone's birthday, I am NOT going to sit and snack on carrot sticks while everyone enjoys cake. We are working hard to lose weight, but we still deserve some good things along the way. I am the same way. If I eat, I'm starving by 10:30 am. If I don't I can go until 1 or 2. Here's what I started doing. I have 2 cups of coffee with one cup of soy milk and some sweet & low. Its a 75 cal breakfast without eating and the protein in the soy milk keeps me full (probably along with the cafeine!)

I could only ever lose 10 lbs on weight watchers. I find this site more personal, more helpful and more motivating. AND its free!

Good luck! You can do it!!!! I'm trying to lose 57 and its hard to keep focus. I've been on MFP for one week and am already thrilled with the results. The motivation and tracking tools have been great for me. GOOD LUCK, you'll do it!!!!

I think you're only supposed to weigh yourself once a week, but I weigh myself about every other day....it keeps me motivated, and if the number goes up slightly I challenge myself to eat healthier or maybe walk/jog a little longer that day.
