Betty, look on youtube. There are THOUSANDS of hooping exercises. Look for off the body hooping, arm hooping, chest hooping. There are several beginner things you can learn that really work the rest of your body. Happy Hooping!

The bigger the hoop the easier it is. If it is weighted it gets more momentum so your body can get used to the motion without having to work as hard. Hooping burns up to 600 per hour. Depending on the intensity of which you hoop. Hope that helps. :)

It is the best way to get exercise. There is not a single minute when I am with my hoop that I am not completely enjoying it. I would die without my hula hoop!
