  • Yay! My weight and measurements for today are: Weight: 119.5 Neck: 11.25 Ribcage: 27.5 Waist: 27.75 Hips: 36 I don't really have a specific goal weight or inches lost. But, I am currently wearing size 6/8 jeans and I would like to get back in my size 2s by Thanksgiving - so that's my goal! Go team! PS - I thought I would…
  • I'll join you! I'm also part of the BWL Challenge - but the more challenges the better. And, I have high school reunion coming up around Thanksgiving, so it's perfect additional incentive. Thanks for starting this!
  • I'm actually able to read while I'm on the elliptical. Bring a long string to tie your book down if the pages won't stay flat. That keeps me occupied. Also, an hour and then some on the elliptical is a long time, so you might want to vary it up a bit. Try some time on the elliptical then maybe a bike or treadmill. Good…
  • I know that my biggest downfall is overeating. I don't know what it is, but if there is food near by sometimes I just can't help eating it even if I'm totally full, and I end up feeling like crap and can't move until I'm totally digested, like I feel now :frown: I'm part of the Biggest Loser challenge on this website, and…
  • That's so sweet! For me it's a combination of for myself and for the challenge. But, similarly for me, if I'm considering cheating, I think of the challenge and usually pull it together. Happy Anniversary - enjoy!

  • Go purple team!!! I'm just wondering - how is that some people are losing like 5 or more pounds a week???
  • Sounds yummy! i will try it :)
  • Oatmeal! So good for you and high in fiber. Quaker makes a "weight control" kind that is extra high in fiber, and they also make a lower sugar kind, which tastes just as good. And instead of just adding water, I like to add skim milk to make it a little creamier.
  • If you belong to a gym near your office, it will save you time if you use pack a bag and shower at the gym. I used to go to the gym near my apartment, come home to shower and then go to work. I saves me almost a full hour if I just shower at the gym and head out. If waking up in the morning is not an option, do you get a…
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil! Oh Rachael Ray...
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • I agree with having Oatmeal. Especially the Quaker Weight Control kind because it is high in fiber, which will keep you fuller longer. I generally don't each lunch until about 1:30, without snacking in between breakfast and lunch, and that keeps me until then. Although, I do see your concern because that is an awfully long…
  • Oh, i just drink as much as I can. I always reach at least the 8 8oz a day, and that doesn't include what I drink during my workout. I always carry around a water bottle also.
  • Breakfast: Special K fruit & yogurt cereal with skim milk; coffee Lunch: big salad of mixed greens, grape tomatoes and snow peas with 2 tablespoons of Wishbone Bountifuls berry delight dressing. Snack 1: 5 Saltines Snack 2: 1 Nutter Butter chewy 100-calorie granola bar Dinner: small bowl of mixed greens with 1 teaspoon of…
  • I definitely agree with the advise about the scale. However, if you are really disciplined about your diet right now, I would say take advantage of it. It's hard to stay on track all the time, so let yourself slip up once in a while, but if you are gung ho about eating right, I see no reason to suppress that. It'll just be…
  • What helps me is that when I workout before work I usually go to a class rather than work out on my own. This way the work is kind of done for me. I just have to show up and I'll get a workout. Also, since I've been doing this for a while, if I don't show up to class one week, the instruction will usually come up to me and…
  • You look amazing! Congratulations - it's very inspiring :).
  • I posted this in reply to the post on your wife's account: Honestly, I always trusted the treadmill/elliptical/etc. calorie counters. I recently bought a heart rate monitor, which I strongly recommend, and it says that I burn more than the treadmill/elliptical/etc. had been saying. So, I'm not really sure. When it says…
  • Honestly, I always trusted the treadmill/elliptical/etc. calorie counters. I recently bought a heart rate monitor, which I strongly recommend, and it says that I burn more than the treadmill/elliptical/etc. had been saying. So, I'm not really sure. When it says 1450 calories, that's after how much time?
  • That's really tough, and i find that I have the same problem when I go away for work. First, I would say, just keep trying to stick with eating what is right for you. But the best thing you could probably do is try to get a good work out in there each day. Does the hotel have a fitness center? Is there a nearby gym where…
  • You go girl!! Congrats! Keep up the good work!
  • I still drink a cup of coffee in the morning, but if I need more caffeine or I'm cold in the office, I go for green tea. I have read a lot about the health benefits of green tea. So, I would definitely say it's a good addition.
  • I booked a cruise for January and I am currently 24 pounds away from my final goal. I think that is enough time to reach that goal, or at least be significantly closer than I am now. To provide additional motivation and really discipline myself, I just bought 2 bikinis! Eeek!! I WILL look good in them come January. Wish me…
  • Spinning/Cycling is the BEST most FUN workout. Find an instructor that you like that plays the kind of music you like. My heartrate monitor says I burn between 550 and 800 calories in a 45 minute class depending on how hard I push myself and the instructor. I would STRONGLY recommend this. As for weight training - yes,…
  • Why do you think it is that you hate exercising? I actually love exercising, it's the sticking to the diet part that's hard for me. Perhaps you haven't found the type of exercise that motivates your, or perhaps you need an exercise buddy. What type of exercise do you do? If it's not satisfying you, try something else that…
  • Pepperidge Farm and Arnold's both make good light breads that are whole grain about 40-45 calories per slice.
  • It was my Aunt's 70th birthday part in the Hampton's, so I'm afraid I ate more than my share yesterday, but I did run three miles and take a dance class, so I think I didn't go over much or maybe not at all. I'm hoping to make up for it this week, but I'm so busy and getting together for dinners with people so many nights…
  • I LOVE yoga. It really depends on the type of yoga you do as far as burning calories. I have worn my HRM during an hour vinyasa class and burned over 500 calories. Maybe you should try like power yoga also if you want more calorie burn. But in general, yoga is such a wonderful form of exercise.
