  • I am also in this situation. I started on this website over a year ago with about 30 pounds to lose and I know have about 10-15 to lose. So, it has taken me over a year just to lose the first 15, which of course involved a lot of yo-yoing up and down. I am not at a point where I realize that while the weight isn't flying…
  • Good for everyone and their New Year's goals! I will join also - I want to be at least 8 pounds lighter by then (that's about a pound a week, so I think reasonable). Keep up the good work and good attitudes, everyone!
  • Good idea, Connie. I'll do that.
  • Hi Roni, It's great that you asked this because stretching is really important and, personally, one of my favorite things to do :). I don't have very specific suggestions for you; however, I would recommend Googling around a bit and you may find some good articles about stretching in general and specific stretches to do…
  • Congrats on finding a new job you're interested in, Fab140! I remember you had been looking before. Go purple!
  • :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Down 3 pounds woohoo! Last week/this week Neck: 11 / 11 Ribcage: 27 / 27 Waist: 27.75 / 26.75 Hips: 35.5 / 35.5 I still don't know if I'm doing my measurements right, but the clothes are fitting looser and i'm in my size 2 work pants! They are looser than my size 2 jeans, so I'm still working my way into those... Keep it…
  • I'm 4'10"! My healthy weight is apparently between 90 and 118 pounds. I started at 135, as of today, I'm 117 :) and I have a goal of around 100, but I'm more concerned about losing inches than pounds. Anyway, I think this thread is great idea!
  • Congrats on quitting smoking. If you are really sick you should definitely focus more on taking care of yourself than on counting calories. Progresso and Cambells both have lower calorie and lower sodium versions of their soups, so they would probably be good for you. Just try to take care of yourself and eat what you need…
  • Spark people has one, but this one: http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php is actually a bit easier to use.
  • Good work, congrats!
  • I thought every week was a measuring week...hahaha
  • Morning everyone! With the exception of Sunday, when I went to visit my parents and did not stay as good as I was planning on, this was a really good week. Despite the visit with the fam, I still lost inches as of my measurements Tuesday evening. I weighed myself yesterday morning and I didn't lose anything from last week,…
  • If you can remember all the components of the salad, I would just enter each ingredient separately and guestimate amounts and the dressing. That would probably be the most accurate.
  • Congrats on what you've lost so far! You can do it and happy early birthday :)
  • Hey darlin, It's really good that you got that all out and we are all here for you! I can see how that is really frustrating. I think that it is possible that not having a degree can be a disadvantage; however, we all know that there are many skills and knowledge that cannot be learned in the classroom and only from…
  • Haha, you're probably right :)
  • Hey everyone! Fab140, my this week was also better than last week, yay! I am down 2 pounds and my measurements are: Last week: Neck: 11.25 Ribcage: 26.75 Waist: 28 Hips: 35.75 Thigh: 20.25 This Week: Neck: 11.25 Ribcage: 27 Waist: 28 Hips: 35.75 Thigh: 20.75 I think I must not know how to measure myself because my…
  • I also plan it and eat a lot of similar stuff. -Workout first thing in the morning -Breakfast after I've gotten to work and settled in a bit (generally 9:45ish) - usually either cereal or oatmeal w/ skim milk or non-fat yogurt with granola and a cup of coffee -Lunch (1ish) - salad - either mixed greens or baby spinach with…
  • I'm with you, Mufasa - I am not motivated to fast, but Mich, you are right, the religious component adds to it. Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. We just had Rosh Hashana, which is the Jewish New Year and we're supposed to take the 10 days in between and apologize to everyone in our lives for anything we may have done to…
  • You guys are so cute, haha. Last week was tough for me with the Jewish holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I was eating other people's cooking and definitely went way over on calories those days. But, this week is already starting off much better! I think I will definitely see a loss of pounds and inches when I weigh in…
  • Mine says 98 pounds! My goodness. Granted I'm only 4' 10.5", that just sounds like nothing! Well, my goal is 100 (although I figured I'd reassess around 110 to see if I need to lose more; I'm currently 122). But wow, at least my goal of 100 wasn't so far off. Ha.
  • Thanks :). Good luck with South Beach. Let's be sure to keep each other motivated and on track over these next few weeks. We can do it!
  • Good morning! With the Jewish holiday these last couple days I have been eating other people's cooking, so the weight is a couple pounds up from last week :( (although, I'm sure it'll fall off pretty quickly this week...I hope....). Anyway, Here are my stats: Last Week ribcage: 27.5 waist: 27.75 hips: 36 thigh: 20.75 This…
  • Yeah, my mom's really into them. They call them "rebounders." You can just jump around, but also try the same kind of things you would do in an aerobics class on the trampoline. Like, jogging in place, kicks, knee lifts, etc. and also kick boxing/tae bo type stuff - kicks, punches, etc. They have rebounding classes (and…
  • 100 calorie packs are awesome. They have them for cookies, chocolate, candies, etc.! Also, vitamuffins are great - especially the chocolate ones if you're looking for something sweet.
  • Also, if you were lifting weights as part of your gym workout you will probably weigh more after working out.
  • Haha. I like to thinks so
  • Thanks :). I LOVE taking spinning classes - I spin 5 days a week. I also take one yoga class and one dance class a week. And on non-spinning days, I do the elliptical (or run on the treadmill if no ellipticals are available). I also do weights for my core and arms, on alternating days (although, not necessarily every day).…
