Oh, I'm sure my shoes are a big part of it. I'm saving for good shoes, but money isn't in the cards. I am running on a treadmill, and I was going at about 4.5 mph, or 4 mph. Maybe I should try it slower, but I feel like any slower, I won't be running, jogging, or even walking.

Between Christmas and now, about ten pounds. Not many inches, though, so Thank God for that.
-
I was going to use 5 lbs, but I think I'll try 3 and see where I am from there. I love lifting heavy, but I haven't been to the gym in a long time. :-(

I was planning to do this yesterday, but the DVD player wasn't working. It wasn't until after I got done doing an alternate workout (long walk with lots of hills) that my friend told me she plays it on her laptop. Duh! Why didn't I think of that?! Anyway, I'm going to do it this afternoon after work. Got a cruise coming…

Bodybuilding.com has a lot of free workout plans, and expert advice. LiveFit Trainer by Jamie Eason is a good one to start with.

There is so much win on this subject line. Yay, Doctor Who! As for when to weigh, as gross as the image is, that is when I weigh. First thing in the morning, after the bathroom.
-
For everyone saying it's so expensive, my mom found it on eBay for a fraction of the website cost, and we've had really positive results (not necessarily weight loss, but my mom who had trouble moving without pain had so much energy that she was able to walk around our zoo, and THEN go from store to store in a strip mall…

My old roommate told me this after I'd lost about 20 pounds (by eating clean and consistently working out, it dropped like mad in a month!), but I said that I still weighed over 200 lbs, which isn't healthy for me, she came back with some BS about how men don't like women too skinny. Insecure, much?

I'm finishing phase one this week. I had a rough couple weeks, when I missed, so I'm making up for it now, and will start phase 2 next week. :-). I'm not really following the meal plan, but I'm trying to track my food and eat clean.
-
If there's a day that shows you working one area twice, I would say yes.
-
I think if you go to settings, you can manually put in how many calories you want to eat. I'm not that far in the program, and am just trying to eat as clean as I can. Good luck!
-
I'm on the last week of phase one, and my weight has stayed the same, but I'm definitely stronger, and I can see some definition in my arms. I'm trying to steer clear of the scale because it'll just mess with my head. I'm still working on eating clean, and trying to use her recipes as much as I can (they're tasty!), but…

My old roommate kept on me to use Ally to lose weight, but I don't like taking chemicals if I don't have to, and my mother had a coworker who died from taking it, so I will pass, eat clean and lift heavy.
-
I'm actually doing Color Me Rad on May 11, but if that one goes well, I very well might do this one, too!

My schedule got in my way last week, and then my Chiro said to rest and ice my knee for a week this week, so I'll be starting week five over again next week. Good luck to everyone! You're almost half way through!!!!
-
Went to the Chiro today. He said it's just a strain, and that I need to stretch my calves and ice it several times a day. At least it's nothing too serious. I think I'm going to take the week off of doing leg workouts. Gonna be a little behind, but I WILL finish LiveFit. He also told me that I need to stretch more. That is…

I once had a roommate who whenever she saw me trying to lose weight would bring me pastries from Starbucks, which she knew were my crutch, and if I tried to decline it, she would freak out and say I was a bad friend. And she would watch me eat it and make sure I knew how much it cost her, and it really wasn't a gift, at…

 I think if I were getting ready for a body building contest, I would follow her way of eating, but you're right. It's not a long-term plan. I've been reading Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Recharged book, and it makes total sense to me. Eat healthy, wholesome foods, plain and simple. Also, watch portions, which is a…

Yay!

Really? I've never heard of it, but I guess I have seen people at the gym wear it. Is there a specific brand you recommend? I found this one on Amazon, (http://www.amazon.com/Kinesio-Gold-Wave-Latex-Free-Water-Resistant/dp/B001VNKNPC/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1359649121&sr=1-4&keywords=kt+tape+knee), with…

Honestly, I'm not following her plan to a T, but I'm trying to eat mini meals throughout the day, and eat as clean as I can. And I've been doing well with that. Maybe for my next go-round of LiveFit, I'll try to figure out the meal plan, but right now, I'm just trying to eat clean.

I didn't feel comfortable doing the step ups on the benches they had at my gym. I'm not that coordinated, and I could see myself falling off.
-
I used dumbbells, and the floor since all the benches in my gym were being used, and I was impatient. I used 15 pounders and took it slow, starting at the top, and slowly going down. I don't know if I did it right, but I could definitely feel it!
-
I got really discouraged this week (and last month), because I was doing all weight lifting, and no cardio, and I didn't lose any weight until last week, and this week I gained a pound. HOWEVER, I did lose seven inches, and today one of my coworkers noticed, and told me she was proud of me. The scale only shows you the big…

Here's a good article about doing negatives without a partner. I NEEDED THIS! http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/betteru19.htm

Wow! That's a great motivator. I'm hoping to work my way up from 5K racing to actual half and full marathons in the future. That's my dream (Actually Disney Races are the BIG dream. ). So great to see that lifting could help me achieve this goal.

I've only done one day, but now you've got me scared! I thought yesterday's back exercises were easy-peasy, but then I was one of five people in my gym, including the manager, so I didn't have to wait for anything. I guess we'll see what tonight's workout brings.

Thanks for all the input on better ways to do barbell squats. I will DEFINITELY try that when I do legs this week! Honestly using a rack didn't even occur to me. That's how much of a weight lifting newbie I am. Love this group!
-
I liked them. Had a couple for lunch today. They were FILLING. Just finished making the oatmeal bake. Smells wonderful!
-
That is a good question. And while we're at it, does anyone know what she means when she says to do a set of "Negatives?" Like on Day 30, doing barbell presses?
