  • I can't say I'm a chocoholic, so maybe my advice wouldn't be helpful. I keep a few bars of high quality dark chocolate around. When I need something sweet, I break a piece off, and eat it slowly. For me, it pretty much solves my craving. I rarely overindulge in it, but I have friends who say they would have trouble…
  • The Changeling, starring George C. Scott (not the one with Angelina Jolie). It may be a dated kind of scary, but it had some really creepy moments in it. It's old. Maybe late 70's? No gore. Frailty, with Matthew McConaughey. Some gore, excellent story.
  • Here's the article. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/21/magazine/do-you-suffer-from-decision-fatigue.html?pagewanted=all
  • Once someone on here posted a great article from the New York Times on "decision fatigue". Basically, all day long we make decision after decision. Some of us in stressful jobs make important decisions all day long. It's mentally exhausting. And then, in the evening, we are no longer as sharp or fresh mentally, and we…
  • I volunteer to be on the review panel.
  • Wow-- that sounds like a wonderful realization to have. Good for you for all that hard work!
  • Well, I tend to rationalize that my body is telling me that I need sometihng. If it is calling out for something like ice cream, or candy, I keep some high-quality dark chocolate around, and will just eat a square of that. It usually does the trick. If (and this is my usual), it wants bread, bread, bread, I will have an…
  • Oh, you look awesome! Good for you for taking good care of yourself. Very inspiring!
  • I dislike facial hair, but I love your audacious choice. It's not a "meh" kind of moustache.
  • I'm with lc. I don't look at it as a "cheat day" cuz that makes this feel too much like a temporary diet, rather than a healthier way of eating. If I want to splurge on a meal out, or ice cream with the kids, I cut back a little in another area. I have friends that swear by cheat days, and they tend to look at it as one…
  • Thanks, everyone! I think I was just concerned because it doesn't look like a typical HRM, and it's fairly new. And I think I will pump my legs a lot while we're taking off, to see if it gives me credit for climbing the equivalent of Mt. Everest! ;-) Thanks for the help!
  • Maybe I'll ask the desk clerk at check in, and if he thinks it's a problem, I'll pop it in my suitcase.
  • I considered this, but wonder how it shows up in the x-ray-- would it look suspicious?
  • I do have a wriststrap, and that would avoid the awkward bra part. But my biggest concern is that they make me leave it behind, and forfeit it. They may not be familiar with them, and it doesn't really have a whole lot of identifying info on it.
  • ^^^^ THIS. I do that sometimes myself. I've had a few times when I've said, "Oh, you look great! Did you lose weight?" only to get a horrified, "No! Do I need to?" So I only comment to my close friends when I notice a nice change. Same with pregnancy. I refuse to acknowledge a woman's pregnancy unless I see a head…
  • Could you guys invest in a weight system/gym equipment for home? That might solve a lot of the issues.
  • Wow! You look awesome! Thanks for positng the photos!
  • That's a tough situation, but you absolutely CAN do this. Yes, it does take some mental toughness. My parents are coming over tonight and bringing lasagna. My mom already knows that I'm not going to have any. It's hard, cuz her lasagna is AWESOME! But I'm eating the healthy meal that I prepared a day or so ago. Part of the…
  • That was a bunch of NSVs! Good for you! :flowerforyou:
  • I've never heard of that, and have no background in hypothyroidism. But I was wondering-- have you thought about something like Lyme Disease? I know that can cause debilitating fatigue. Also Chronic Fatigue Syndrome comes to mind. Just a thought.
  • A slice of honeydew melon, decaf chai tea.
  • I use real sugar in moderation. I used to use a LOT of splenda. I ended up with an unusual form of cancer. Now, I am not suggesting for a moment that the splenda caused it-- no one knows what did. But I've tried to cut a lot of "fake" chemical-ly stuff out of my intake now. And that included splenda. I have tried stevia,…
  • Wow! You look awesome. And I love your sensible approach. Thanks for posting this!
  • I'm sorry that put a dent in your day. I can't imagine what that idiot was thinking. I put on weight in my stomach. Not anywhere else. So when I put on weight, guess what? I look pregnant! I hate that. A co-worker known for poor social skills asked me if I was pregnant, in a group of people a few years ago. I was…
  • I just pictured these women fighting for their lives. And since it didn't involve a gun or other easy-to -kill-with weapon, it's hard to imagine a woman being that successful several times in a row in such a violent, "overpowering" way. These were street-smart women, I imagine, that were attacked.
  • WOW! That's truly disturbing.
  • Is that an order?
  • I did the same thing! I miss the bulletin boards on the WW site, but the food tracking here is soooo much easier. And I love my fitbit too!
  • I know that our grocery stores have larger and larger sections of gluten-free items. A few years ago a friend's daughter was diagnosed, and it was incredibly difficult to find anything gluten-free. Do you have large grocery stores in your area? They might have a lot more delicious things than you expect. Good luck (and…
  • How would a woman overpower the other women?
