  • The latest wrist only monitors are much better. Look at the Mio's. Personally, I'm waiting for the AppleWatch to take advantage of all it's health metrics.
  • I'm being tested right now. Son brought home a horrible cold from school and my wife got sick. I'm still feeling fine, though!
  • I compiled this shreadsheet some time ago. Cals per g Protein https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21994681/Cals%20per%20g%20Protein.xlsx
  • I do #1 the best I can. I wash my hands a lot similar to #2 because I have to touch other people's keyboards during the course of my day (ewww), and that also impacts #1. #5, sure. Other than that, I don't do much else of those. Seemingly we get the same results.
  • I think your best bet would be to head over to the Vegan Bodybuilding and Nutrition facebook page and ask them! It's probably already been asked many times, too! Good luck! https://www.facebook.com/groups/VeganNutrition/
  • I think you read that wrong :D She said she is going BACK to veganism BECAUSE she's been getting sick. But yeah, I have yet to catch a cold since turning vegan almost three years ago. Allergies are nearly gone, too. Used to be months of stuffy noses and a few weeks of pure tortuous cold-like symptoms. Now, it's like a day…
  • My only advice is to talk to them. If the wife is proud of her hosting skills, she may relish the challenge of feeding the vegan! Also, personally, I wouldn't worry about if the wine is vegan. It might be a bit much and hard to figure out. It's much easier for someone to avoid putting diary in something than check if a…
  • There is a user on MFP that has a photo blog on Instagram. Her scale has been "stuck" at the same weight, but her body hasn't. Check her out. 805 days in a row on MFP. http://instagram.com/lvnfit http://www.myfitnesspal.com//Tanyamarie33
  • ... you eat BEFORE you go to a BBQ ... the Barnivore app is loaded onto your phone ... you've judged vegetarians as weak
  • No, it's not. Has the doctor ever told you to not over do it on veggies? Nope. Just because it's better than something else doesn't make it good. Oil is a refined food. I'm not saying I don't use it from time to time, but it quickly slows me down and will even make my skin get acne. I try to stay away.

  • I applaud your restraint. I'm a pretty laid back guy but I would of gotten angry. I would of replied with snark and something like, "You're telling me all you eat is meat? No? So there are other things to eat? So what are you asking me?" Seriously, it's the first thing that popped in my mind.
  • You're doing something wrong. I've done Tough Mudders, 100 mile bicycles rides, etc, all while vegan. Either you're eating very poorly, or not enough, based on what you said....
  • Most people I know are/were pretty cool about it. The "I would miss meat too much" crowd I'd just say something like, "I love the taste of meat, too. Still do. I missed it at first, then I started to feel really good and I stopped missing it. " For me it's easy, because I've lost a bunch of weight and have gotten much…
  • There is a reason to not eat MOST foods, if you think about it. Meat free, gluten free, sugar free, fat free, carb free, soy free, nut free, dairy free, preservative free, MSG free... I've even seen people say not to eat nightshades aka tomatoes and fruits (too much sugar). Also, just right off the bat, spot checking the…
  • I actually really liked the Arctic Enema. Mine was the half pipe thing you have to jump up. I don't have much hops :D
  • Great link!
  • I'm lucky, my wife supports me. She eats what I eat and my so do my boys. Further, she is the one that cooks most of the dinners. Maybe you could get her excited if she learned to like more of the foods you're able to eat? My wife has always loved fruits and veggies so veganism is sort of up her alley, anyway.
  • I would also suggest ordering online. Also, things like whole wheat pasta or tortillas will boost protein intake.
  • If you haven't been counting your calories, how can we help? I don't know how you eat, but be sure you're not a "junk food vegan", a pastatarian or a breadatarian. Honestly, most vegetarians I know are noticeably...thicker...than the vegans I know. So something in your diet is wrong.
  • Tofu may be "processed", but it's nothing like most packaged foods. Tofu can be made with just two ingredients. Soy beans and salt. There is nothing wrong with eating tofu. See how it's made here: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Tofu/
  • My wife and I have been winning over non-vegans this same way! We've had people over for dinner who didn't even realize they had no meat or dairy.
  • I don't have any cravings. Haven't since the first month. Almost 2 years now. Matter of fact, even meat substitutes like Gardein I'm finding unappetizing.
  • The Vegan Zombie http://www.youtube.com/user/ZombieGate
  • I don't know what your experiences are but they seem unfortunate. I've had nothing but love from other vegans and haven't met a pretentious vegan yet. Absolutely. This needs to be the main focus and vegans as a group need to be accepting as possible. I think we are, but some of us seem to have had bad experiences. This is…
  • I hurt myself and was out 4 weeks. I felt the same way afterward. Anytime this happens I have a routine. I put together a fresh playlist. I go look at the pictures here: http://reddpics.com/r/motivation I watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsSC2vx7zFQ Then this video:…
  • You should get one, too! First, I really hope you find employment soon. That's rough. I didn't mean to imply it was a magic formula. I guess it could of been read both ways. Like I said, I have big workouts. Workouts that require big energy. This is what works *for me* without having to eat back lots of calories. I know…
  • I buy smoked tofu at Winco. It's the best replacement for sandwich meat IMHO. I dislike most fake meats.
  • I workout a *lot*. Talking thousands of calories per day a few days a week, near 1000 a few others and a few days off. I burned 12,465 calories via exercise from Thur July 4th till yesterday. Measured by a Garmin FRS70. I do not eat back all my calories. I only eat back enough to feel good again the next day. You only need…
  • You'd think that with as much as you have lost and as healthy as you look they'd back off by now.
