you should probably eat some of those "extra calories", or else it actually won't last...
-
i'd rather just use current weight as my starting weight, hopefully that's cool :)

i agree with asian supermarkets! it's where i go for the majority of my veggies, and they usually have amazing deals on frozen fish and shrimp!

this is so ridiculous. i'm thinking about it, and i'm thinking WW just told your mom that so she can keep giving them her money. believe it or not, even if you sit around and do nothing all day your body is burning calories. if your body doesn't have enough energy (calories eaten) each day, your body will start storing…

work it guys! i just started the second month and it feels like i'm starting all over again!

i've been unemployed for about 2 months now, collecting employment insurance. at first i was happy to have a break, but now i'm feeling useless, like my 8 years of university and two undergraduate degrees mean nothing. i've been in a rut since the new year because i've been applying to jobs since the day i was laid off and…

aw <3 i will probably cry when i finish Insanity, and it will be tears of joy and pain!

there's a show on the food network called 5 ingredient fix, the host is kinda annoying but her recipes sound delicious....can't guarantee the healthiness of some though. http://www.foodnetwork.com/5-ingredient-fix/index.html

bumping this while i decide what to make for lunch i just started eating tuna too so these recipes are perfect!

fats should be 20-30% of your daily intake, and that's healthy fats. i have mine set to 25%, and trying to eat as little saturated fat as possible, which consequently, is not possible for me lol

i'm in, i haven't really taken into consideration any short term goals, they're all long term! i'm pretty sure i was about 175-180 at my heaviest, after the freshman 25 (not 15), but that was about 7-8 years ago. since then i've been hovering between 160-170. I really got into MFP at the end of November 10', and that's…

yep! believe it or not you gotta eat to lose weight (of course you gotta eat all the good stuff) because if you ate 1200 calories and burned 1000, your body would be running on 200 cals a day, and if you keep it up your body will start storing fat and you won't lose any weight. some people don't eat their exercise calories…
-
if you wanted to keep your net calories at 1200/day, and you burn about 1000 in exercise, you should be eating 2200 calories a day.
-
ahhh yes i figured as much after putting some thought into it! you = excellent source of information!

That is an amazing idea! I need to be way more organized like this and maybe i'd be less confused. I guess I was confused because even though I change the the amount of calories burned through exercise under goals, it never change the projected weight loss. Thanks so much!
-
this is what i was looking for! i guess i just needed to see it typed out to actually understand it. so...my deficit is 660 before exercise, so if i burned 1000 calories that day and ate back 650, my new deficit would be 660 + 350 (the non eaten portion of my exercise calories) = 1010 so if i did this every day…
-
i'm not asking about exercise calories, i eat mine every day! i guess what i'm wondering is how exercise calories burned and your daily calorie deficit work hand in hand? or, because my NET calories is 1400/day after eating exercise calories, do they sort of cancel each other out? maybe i should sit down and do some math...

as of this morning, i weigh 158, i've lost 9 pounds since i started exercising and eating better. my goal right now is 130, then i'd have to reassess and decide if i want to weigh less. so about 28-33 more pounds to go.

yum! i'm going to make this tonight!!!
-
well i had plans to work out when i was at home visiting the family, but i just didn't.... after today i wish i had done something -- anything during the recovery week!
-
well you can check out my exercise diary (just ignore the fact i skipped recovery week last week lol) and you can see....they ranged anywhere from 400-500 cals. i finished day 1 month 2 and nearly died! 1035 cals burned, but that also includes the fit test. i'm hoping to push it and burn 800 cals with each workout in month…

i just had my *kitten* handed to me! today i started Insanity month 2, with a fit test and max interval circuit. after not working out at all during the holiday, it was definitely a rude awakening today! i had to take tons of breaks but i still did it! i'm excited to get through the last month and see some real results!!!…

when i had a gym membership i was going monday-friday in between classes or after class. everyday i'd do some type of cardio (elliptical, treadmill, rowing, class) twice a week i'd do strength training, one day would be arms (4 machines + weights), one day would be legs (5 machines) and yes i've ignored my abs altogether,…

bump! sounds yummy and i have all of the ingredients for once!

pizza and chocolate. i'm in my workout clothes right now waiting to digest some lunch before working out. in front of me is a glass of water and a toblerone triangle i've been wanting to eat for the past two days, and out the window to the left of me is a pizza place and a convenience store. i can substitute pizza for an…

today i'm starting Insanity month 2. You're right, Insanity is more cardio-based and P90X is more strength training based, but Insanity does do some resistance work, and P90X does do some cardio work as well. They are both 6 days out of 7, I believe P90X has a stretch workout on day 7 though. The first month of Insanity,…

I'm 5'3" and weigh 160ish. For the most part I look thick but the rolls are what kill me :/ I've got about 30 lbs to lose, I'm hoping that will even me out a little, or at least get rid of my stomach
