  • Just remember that you didn't put the weight on overnight and it isn't going to come off overnight. I started at an 18/20 11 months ago. I am in a 12 now and still have another 20 lbs to go. It is possible if you put in the hard work and determination. Good luck to you. I am sure we will be seeing a "Success" post from you…
  • Awesome!!
  • I weigh daily as well, but I offiically record my weight once a week. I find that it is much better for me to do it everyday rather than just once a week. It has taken a long time to get over the beating myself up when the scale might go up a little bit the next day, but I am much better about it. I think you have to go…
  • Thanks for all the encouragement. I am with you mamalula. I am the same way. I have taken to wearing two sports bras so they don't move around too much. I used to run and jog all the time when I was in the Marine Corps. (100 pounds ago). I hated it then and I hate it now, but I just felt like it was time to try something…

  • I'm a newbie, but I am in for this challenge. I am hoping to do 90 miles this month. I hope I didn't set to unrealistic of a goal for my first time. But my first 3.15 miles are out of the way, so here I go. :)
  • I agree. I am down 65 pounds and I know I lozt it, but I don't see it when I look inthe mirror. Cannot wait until I do! lol
  • I am hypo as well. Total loss so far of 65 pounds. I take pure Synthroid and the last time I had my levels checked I was hyper. The doctor thinks it is from losing weight and needing to readjust.
  • I am with you. I have lost a total of 65 pounds and work in an office environment. Clothes aren't cheap and I am not at my goal weight so I have put off buying new clothes. People comment all the time. It always starts with, wow you have lost lots of weight and always ends with a crack about my clothes. Keep up the good…
  • When I read the topic of your post I thought to myself, that could be me. My mom passed away in December 2009 after a long illness. She had just turned 58. I remember her dieting and regaining my entire life. In the 3 months prior to her death she lost 60 pounds. After she passed away I told myself that I would take my…
  • I didn't want to do low-carb mostly because I LOVE bread and white rice. I was able to lose about 55 pounds just with limiting calories and exercise. However, when I went to the doctors for my thyroid check-up (I have hashimotos disease) she told me that based on the analysis done by her fancy scale that I was retaining a…
  • I have not logged any exercise today. {today is house cleaning/errand day so unfortunately exercise is on the back burner}. I just worry because I am not at even 1200, let alone the 1450 MFP tells me I should be at. Thanks for the responses everyone.
  • I bought one of those personal blenders (you can get them at Wal-Mart for about $15). I use frozen fruit and protein powder with milk. The protein powder that I like is the Biggest Loser Vanilla. It doesn't have a strong taste to it, so I am mostly tasting the fruit. I make it when I get to work and then I am good until my…
  • I'm in. I am going to run (or walk, or crawl LOL) the Pat Tillman Run in Tempe in April, so that will be a good starter for me. I did it last year and want to improve my time. Congrats to you for sticking with it even though they cancelled it.
  • I also suffer from thyroid troubles.I have lost 62 pounds in 10 months, so it is possible. My doctor suggested a low carb diet for me as well. It isn't easy, I love carbs! My doctor also explained that some people need the real Synthroid while others are fine using generics. I am one that needs the real stuff. Good luck…
  • I have it as well. I was diagnosed about a year ago. Anyone who would like to add me feel free. I am new and always looking for more friends and motivation.
  • I have been working at my weight loss since December 2010. I went to my doctor in July and was weighed with one of those scales that tell you the water weight, muscle weight, fat weight and so on. When she noticed that most of my excess weight was water weight she suggested I lower my carbs. I wasn't really interested…
  • I had mine removed 7 years ago. I find that I do still have pain, butonly when I am really hungry. I know, that sounds weird. I have lost 59 lbs in 9 months with thyroid problems. I don't know how having it removed affects weight loss.
  • I have hypothyroid as well. First diagnosed March of 2010. I take the pure synthroid as I have found when I use the generic is doesn't work as well. I just had my levels tested last week and I was actually hyper now. My doctor has suggested a low-carb diet to help as well as it seems I carry a lot of water weight. She said…
  • I'd be glad to help. I am a former Marine and my husband is still active duty. I have been struggling as well and think that the more people that you have to help you, the better. Friend me if you'd like to.
  • Congratulations. I have actually skipped some of the Marine Corps Balls in the past because I didn't want my husband to be ashamed to have the "fat wife" at the table. I am going this year, down 58.8 pounds from last year. I still have a long way to go to get to where I want to be, but I intend to "rock that dress" as…
  • Congratulations! I know the feeling. I am 1.2 lbs away and have not been there in about 12 years. I never thought it was even possible again. Treat yourself well, you deserve it! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
