Exhausted after lifting weights
I am sure this has been answered before but I could really use some help. I just started lifting weights recently. I started out with small hand weights and then saw some research on the heavier lifting. So I did some lifting with heavier weights, not much, things like bicep curls, overhead press, squats and lat pull…

I Did It!
I did it. All week long I had put off running. I had all kinds of excuses. Yesterday I realized I was putting it off because I didn't think I could do Week 5 Day 3 of the Couch to 5K Program. Yep, that's why. I thought there was NO WAY that I could run for 2 miles straight without stopping. Instead of getting out there and…

Did I really see what I think I saw?
I have been pretty lucky with my scale victories. I had another this morning. But then I had an NSV that was way better! I bent over to put my pants on this morning and just happened to look in the bathroom mirror. What did I see? My COLLARBONES!! They were actually visible for the first time in more than 10 years. I…

Before and During, not Done Yet
Here is a picture of me almost 1 year ago: I weighed 259 pounds. This picture is the one that finally started me on my journey. Here is another of me last month. I was about 194 at that time: And here is one from today: I weighed in this morning at 186. I want to lose another 20 pounds at least. It has been a struggle…

My Friday NSV
This has been a pretty good week. I hit the 70 pound total weight loss mark, yay! I was in the hallway today when I overheard a woman from another department speaking with someone. She said that she is going to lose weight and that I was her motivation. Me? Really? I didn't think that I could motivate or inspire anyone. It…

The "S" word
Had a check-up with the doctor today. 11 pounds gone in a month. She was very proud of me. (As I am of myself). The nurse said, "Wow, you are looking skinny." I almost turned around to make sure she was talking to me. LOL I am far from skinny, but have lost a total of 65 pounds since starting my lifestyle change. I feel…

Calorie question
Its the end of the day and I just finished dinner. I am stuffed, but my daily calories are low. Should I eat just to get the extra calories in? I did have 2 bad for me snacks today as well. I could have some fruit or something healthy, but is itnecessary? I am about 500 calories shy. Thanks for any advice.

Help, injury.
So I am wondering how you work out and get cardio in when you have an injury? A little background, six weeks ago I tore a ligament in my foot. I have been careful and it seemed back to normal. I went jogging last night and reinjured it, probably worse than before. I can't see my doctor until next Monday, so for now just…

New Here
Hello. I am new to this site, after having heard about it from someone at work. I was never into journaling my food intake, and this site makes it so easy to do. I have lost 57 pounds since I seriously started my lifestyle change in December, 2010. I have Hypothyroidism and try to control it with Synthroid. At my last…
