  • I felt pretty much the same as you when I started, but don’t let pride get in your way. Now I’m a hardened gym goes and fairly fit, when I see overweight people at the gym I cheer them on in my own head. Sometimes I feel their pain but want to tell them to keep going as it does get easier and become more enjoyable.
  • if you do something enough times you will start to enjoy it. after a couple of weeks it becomes 'normal' and no big deal.
  • you can do this, you are a WINNER
  • Another tip that I thought of at the gym last night... 6. When you go to the gym, watch what other people do and remember it so that next time when you go to the gym you can copy them without any embarrassment!
  • thank you all. anyone one who wants tips and encouragement then add me and ill try my best to help you understand you can achieve your goals! :)
  • Thanks people, nice to recieve positive comments :) although this post isn't really for me, it's for all of you! Just realised as well, i'm 24 not 23, can I get away with that error though? Cos...I was 23 when I started haha.
  • oh hello. i lost the team uk thread for october for some reason, couldn't find it, thought it must have fizzled out, anyway im pleased it hasn't. is there any way to bookmark this thread so i can easily view it when i log in rather than searching through the whole messageboard? i am pleased with my progress in the last few…
  • Hi Oishii, the ones we have are salter..perhaps it's cos we are doing it upstairs on carpet on a timber constructed floor? don't know? maybe we should try downstairs on the solid floor? Kyle, thanks for your message and congratulations. i will defo look for a weighwaters one. the one we have does fat % and another kind of…
  • hello, i have a good exceris for calves, and so i assume that it will help to reduce their fat and tone them...but i use it mainly to strengthen my calf muscles for running. all you do is stand with your toes on the very edge of a step (stairs) with the majority of your feet hanging over the edge, and then alternate your…
  • does any know any reliable decent relatively cheap scales? we have some but im not sure how accurate they are as they can often read up to 3lbs different within the space of 30 seconds. i am not too worried though, because as i said to my girlfiend, we have still lost the same amount of weight, it just means our starting…
  • hello, i use the biggest loser shakes. i only have 1 a day for lunch but i find it really helps. they take a bit of getting used to but i do enjoy them now. one thing they aren't good for is if you are really really hungry, they will not fill you up or satisfy you so avoid using them in this kind of situation. i have…
  • running shoes definatley help a lot, i had the same problems a couple of months ago but have stuck with it, running 4 times and it does get easier, i promise you. i now have no problems with my shins or ankles, am now working on my calfs as their the weak link now.
  • managed to run 5k yesterday, for the first time in my life! took a coupld of seconds over 30mins so am quite chuffed! i feel so great after my gym sessions now, not half dead as i did before.
  • i excerise in the evenings after work, arriving at the gym about 630 and then leaving around 8. i find that the focus of knowing i have to go to the gym helps me remain on track throughout the day...plus i couldn't get up early enough to go before work anyway! the other good thing about going in the evening is that by the…
  • hello, i have been reading these boards for a month or so, mostly the success stories really for motivation. i am wixy from colchester, essex, i started my weight loss campaign on 12/7/11 as i weighed 15stone 5lb. i am only 5ft 6 and so that put my BMI at close to 35, suddenly i felt inspired to become fit and healthy and…
